Love this. Steelers Shazier says the league has a Patriots problem. Suh just laughs and says the Pats are as beatable as anyone.

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/07/03/ndamukong-suh-patriots-are-definitely-beatable/

We need the whole league to declare it open season on the Pats and all 10 non AFCE opponents to play them like a division rival. They play a lot of tough games this year and everyone wants to knock them off. They start off against a very hungry and ticked off KC, then have Brees and AP on Monday night followed by Houston's D with Watt back and healthy then they have the Bucs who are very hungry, a layup game against the hapless Jets then Carolina then Atlanta who will be hungry for some quasi-redemption. After that are the Chargers then in three weeks they have Denver's D then Oakland then us. Hopefully by this point they are on the ropes a little etc.

I think this will be our year to take the Division from them. They are the champs and just looked like world beaters in their last game. But, I think enough is enough. We will at least split with them and hopefully the other teams can do their part.

    Dolphins rise up in '17!

We have the talent, we have the head coach and we have the hunger to take down the Patriots, but what we have no control over is the schedule. I just looked at something, then dug a little deeper and found something VERY disturbing.

As you all know, I've expressed my concern over our first 5 games:
    Home vs Tampa Bay
    Away vs LA Chargers
    Away vs NY Jets
    Away vs New Orleans (London)
    Home vs Tennessee

That's a lot of miles, a lot of different time zones and for anyone who has traveled before, you know the toll jet lag takes on the body. So I decided to look at the Patriots schedule and what did I discover?
    Home vs Kansas City (EDT)
    Away vs New Orleans (CDT)
    Home vs Houston (EDT)
    Home vs Carolina (EDT)
    Away vs Tampa Bay (EDT)
    Away vs NY Jets (EDT)
    Home vs Atlanta (EDT)
    Home vs LA Chargers (EDT)
    Away vs Denver (MDT)

The Denver game is the first game in which the Patriots actually have to TRAVEL and cross significant time zones. It's as if the NFL has set up the Patriots schedule for success, keeping them within their own time zone (save New Orleans) and prevent them from suffering jet lag.

Meh. I think we'll be fine. NO has to fly to London too and they will be even one more timezone screwed up. We'll fly straight from the Jets game to London so that isn't costing us any timezones at least and then we're at home for Tennessee.. We asked to have a game right after the London game.

Everyone is beatable assuming you score more points than them. :tongue2:

Seriously though, they're beatable, you've just got to amass the talent, develop it properly, plan well against them, play well against them and hold yourselves accountable to be as good as them at executing the system, and being disciplined.

I don't think we're there yet to knock them off the top of the division, but I think we can, and should split with them this year at least. If we take care of our own business against the rest of the division we'll be fine.

Yeah I mean what's the alternative? Waiting to have a schedule come out that's easy across the board is a fool's errand. And if one did come out, we'd then have the "easiest schedule ever" asterisk. I'm just not feeling the worry.

I have been waiting for the Brady demise in skill for about 5 seasons now. For the 10-11 years without a Super Bowl, I thought it was the year they won the SB that he would contemplate retirement (before the year began). But he has had a re-birth since then. Waiting for a +40 year old, who is considered the best in the NFL, is mind-blowing, when we have our qb and WR's and RB's all in their prime. It shows you how important having the qb is, and really nothing else matters. a unit with 21 other players (not including ST) can be masked by having that guy. so to me, RT has to play and beat head-to-head Brady to have a chance. we have the skilled players. can the line hold up?

It isnt enough for me, sorry. You know I value your opinion, but aside from injuries, it is the qb. I dont want this to be another exhausting RT thread. I am pulling hard for our qb to be the best

No schedule is "easy across the board". Anyone can beat anyone on any given Sunday. I was just merely pointing out how the Patriots' schedule this season has them set up for success where ours is more towards failure. Conspiracy? I'll let those who wear aluminum foil hats on their heads debate that one.

I'm merely saying that for a football player...whether on the road or at home, you literally wake up, eat, practice, play the game and go to sleep at relatively the same time week after week, you're set up for success as the Patriots are, where with us? Trust me when I tell you, jet lag is a BIOTH!!!!!! Can't sleep, can't wake up, can't eat, can't sheit

Like I've said, if we can come out of this first 5 game stretch at 3-2, I'll feel confident for the rest of the season.

Said it before and I'll say it again, the only important part of a schedule is when the bye week is. Even then, it still depends on a lot of factors before it's THAT important.

do you think its a positive thing from a mental standpoint to say out loud you can beat a team?, does it help the psyche of the overall team to talk out loud that you can beat an opponent that you haven't really matched up well with recently?

Ali used to predict he'd beat opponents. And which round he'd do it in.

He later said it put pressure on him to get it done or be embarrassed publicly.

It's not just important, it's critical. The act of setting a goal is as important as achieving it.

I feel like that the Pats thrive on this sort of thing. This is BB material that Belicheat will remind the players of when they play the Dolphins. Their team use this as motivation and the last thing anyone needs is a motivated Pats team. If the Dolphins are quiet and act on this instead of just blustering about it, that would be so much better.

I think what the Pats do better than anyone is prepare for opponents and take away their biggest weapons. While I won't get into the debate over whether or not they do it fairly (or legally), it's hard to doubt their scouting talent and getting players ready for big teams. I think that's why Miami is such a problem for them- we have so many different ways to beat you on offense. Our defense has stunk recently and that's been the game-plan....just outscore us since it's easy to do for them. But I think it will be a different tune in 2017 entirely.

Yes. He said they are beatable as long as you don't make a single mistake all game. What he said was NBD but it's better to keep your mouth shut, beat them then say, they were always beatable.

If we get swept again this year ESPN will play Suh's quote

That's ludicrous. If we're only one comment away from them beating us they are going to beat us anyways. There's something to be said for bravado. I highly doubt the Pats need to "get up" for a division rival. Let Suh say all he wants as long as we bring the heat on the field. Talk smack and then punch them in the mouth I say. As opposed to being a bunch of wimps and trying to not make eye contact with the bigger guy. F that. Kick them dead in the balls while you chop the throat.

Ok, I can see that angle...so what I'm hearing is that by one of our leaders openly talking about beating them, as well as juice talking about it, will create a better mindset going into the game then if they didn't..

I mean, I guess. I like it from a fan standpoint to hear that they are not going to continue to accept the Pats as the default annual AFCE champ. They are going to kick their ***. Now they just have to do it. I have no problem with the smack talk as long as they show up and prove it.

I think there are two ways to go about establishing your dominance..in this situation, I can see a tight lipped approach where all players don't say a word, and have a desire and confidence from within that will explode and show the world come game time..kind of like, if anyone ask you about the pats, just say, their the champs, they deserve the respect, and we and everyone else has to do a better job matching up."

If you think about it, no one has any room to say anything to them..but, if like some here say, talking like we can is a physchaitric advantage then ok, I'm in...

Think of it like this...Suh went out on a limb to light a fire under his team. If the team doesn't back it up then they have to deal with Suh. Nobody wants to deal with Suh.

    It's like double motivation......:butthead:

No. Because football is also entertainment, so they will be asked questions. Not answering is just a way to dodge the question. I do not trust a team that is not confident enough to say they are going to win.
