Also knows as Juice14 Club, Bar and Grille. Yes that is indeed a disco ball Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Very cool. I have a garage I was thinking of doing something similar too. How are are you getting AC In?
No ac. I have a couple fans. During game time the sun switches and it is comfortable. Plus the beer keeps me cool. It is still a garage where the cars are parked in at night Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I had to do the same thing with my ex when I lived in NM. She hated football and the only place I could watch in peace and quiet was the garage. I painted all of the walls aqua with a fat white stripe centered on the walls and in the center of the white stripe, I painted a coral stripe. Then adorned the walls with all of my epic retro Dolphins gear. Looks like you have a much better TV than I did though lol Congrats!
I bought portable A/C unit from Lowes....just had to cut a hole in the garage door for the exhaust vent
Thanks. Very lucky to be able to do this and get help. Im all in this year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
LOL, I was fighting hard to resist commenting on the disco ball. It felt a little too over the top. =)
I think the discoball would give me a seizure! But cool deal, man. Love the paint. I have one aqua wall in my house, behind my TV. My wife and I are building a new house, and I'll get to have the basement to my own designs. I'm not going nuts with decorating it, but it will be nice to have a setup where I can watch sports and play video games that's just mine. We've always been a one TV family up to this point, and my two kids get first dibs when they're awake.
Saw this awesome pool table the other day on Instagram. If you have the space, you gotta do it. Essential to any Fins themed man cave.
2 things right off the bat show this table doesn't belong to a pool player, #1, the decal, lol, actually those pool table images are distracting and can alter how you see the ball, #2, that table is in a room that is too small for the table. I have some of that "best advice you can get" advice for any potential pool table owners out there, having years of experience in pool table installation and also being an avid pool player. Biggest, most critical, most joy killing and most common mistake, trying to fit too much table in the room; Table Size, Minimum Room Size, 3.5' x 7' ___16' 8" x 13' 6" 4' x 8' _____17' 4" x 13' 11" 4.25' x 8.5' _17' 9" x 14' 1" 4.5' x 9' ___18' 4" x 14' 6" Treat this as an "absolute" minimum room size, and you'll be fine, DO NOT BE AFRAID OF BUYING A 7 FOOT TABLE! I can't stress that point enough, people who want to buy quality often make the mistake of equating "regulation size" with "quality", and it's completely false, e.g. an Olhausen 9' Augusta has the exact same wood and construction as the 7' Augusta, they are identical except for dimensions. Some people also think that the company will treat it as "only a 7'" table, and I can promise you that isn't the case, to us, a table is a table, they all go together the same way. If it is a man cave thing, you do want some cave in there too, nothing, and I do mean nothing, eats up space in a room like a pool table, so lets say you have the minimum size room for an 8' table, you should still put a 7' table there just to have some room to move around. If you are an entry level player, I would suggest a 7' table if even you had room for two 9' tables, because unless you're playing with good pool players games on 9' tables are long, sloppy and boring, instead of "regulation" size they should call it "expert" size imo. I've played in many league games in many places, the vast majority of the time I'm playing on 7' tables, the vast majority of bars have 7' tables so it stands to reason, lol. The 7' table is the perfect man cave size because games go quicker regardless of skill level, people have more fun because they pocket more balls, and if fun is the point of the table... Decorating your table, Dolphins aqua is a very good color for the cloth, sky blue is the best for your eyes, but any similar blue/green colors are good, avoid bright colors, logos and bright reds all look fantastic but can strain your eyes and give you headaches. There are Dolphin ball sets, cues, racks and anything else to stamp your table as a Dolphin table without actually putting a Dolphin stamp on the table, and like I said, Dolphin aqua is an excellent choice for the cloth. Also, spend the extra money on cloth over felt, it plays better and is A LOT more durable.
Love this post. Great info! We have discussed getting a ping pong table. What do you think of space requiements for those, and also what do you think of those ping-pong/pool hybrid use tables?
Man you can tell we're nuts deep in the off season when an update to my man cave thread (No dis to Dirty Landry) stays in the top five threads far a week.
The bugaboo for ping pong is ceiling height, low ceiling basements don't work, so if you are doing a combo the pool table light can become the problem. The pong table attachment can work well, but as lighting is important for pool that has to be worked around, if the light is on chains I've done hooks on the ceiling, so you can raise the light for pong. The outdoor pong sets are a good alternative if needs be. As far as playing room needed, that all depends on the players, unlike pool, which is dependent on cue length, and in pong limited room can be a fun "homefield" type thing, where short cues and raising your cue just become a pain in the butt, so there is wiggle room with pong, except for the height.
Just let me know if your thinking about a shuffle board, I'll even leave out my crack pot theory about them just being a waste of good cutting board material. Well, I'll leave that part out next time anyway
