    Bokamper

    - Offense will have 13 practices open to public during training camp

    - it is HOT so be ready if you come to watch

    - thinks it’s helpful for us to practice against another team (Eagles, this year)

    - We need to get off to a fast start this year (not sure why he says that… didn’t elucidate)

    Congemi

    - We don’t really know how good we are ’til the pads go on

    - Expects some scaled back stuff, 7-on-7 and 1-on-1 drills during Eagles co-practice

    - will be a good gauge of where we are at and it is very good to get out of monotony and to change scenery

    BOTH

    - Show will be taking a break ’til sometime during training camp. Making changes to show. Open to suggestions from fans.

    - Show will be bigger and better

    Q+A

Keys to going further in playoffs?

KIM: Gotta stay healthy. Gotta come out and establish early on that they are a winning football team, not limp into year. Gotta make a statement early on.

CONGEMI: It can’t be ‘next man up’ every year. Need our best talent out there. If QB makes a difference in a POSITIVE way then you win. This boils down to needing 1) a better run defense 2) scoring more points 3) Ryan Tannehill being better in 2nd year of this offense.

KIM: For Dolphins to be where they wanna be Ryan has to throw 30-35 TDs with 10 max INTS.

CONGEMI: Jay Ajayi will still be big part of this offense. But if we get dominant Parker and dominant Thomas…. also expect to see RBs more in the passing game.

KIM: Plus this rests the Defense.

Who gave you the most trouble to tackle?

KIM: Earl Campbell is the best player I ever played against, but Lidell Mitchell of Colts and Penn State. Tackling air bec he leapfrogged him. Underrated RB.

What’s the chance the Dolphins pick up a better Guard?

CONGEMI: I think we did. We’ll find out.

Kim: I think so. Larsen, Asiata will battle for it. Some guys left out there: Franklin, Mangold. But I think team is happy where they are at.

CONGEMI: 100% better than where they were at last year. Bo STRONGLY agrees here. “WAY better”

KIM: Only make a change if someone gets hurt.

CONGEMI: You wait and see what happens with Mike Pouncey.

Both keep saying there ar e’lots of guys’ who can bounce between C and G if needed.

Do you think Phins go 5-1 in division?

CONGEMI: Whoo. Big task. (seems he finds that a high number)

KIM: Unless you slip up, you have a chance to sweep Jets and Bills. If you steal a game from Pats that could be difference in our season, going into playoffs as DIV winner versus WILDCARD spot.

CONGEMI: When we were dominant we dominated the division. If we get to 5-1 in div we will win 10 games minimum.

KIM: Talking about byes and home field advantage making it that much easier to get to Superbowl

    Favorite Jim Mandich quote/memory?

KIM: When on the road he’d slide hotel clerk $50 and say “Do me a favor, give me a room without a view.”. Bo had lunch with Mad Dog’s son Nick. They are doing well, doing commercial real estate [always good to hear a family is doing okay after losing a loved one a few years ago]

What do you think of RB depth?

BOTH: Like it. Love it. Satisfied.

CONGEMI: Ajayi looks trimmer, strength still there. Question w Drake, how much load can you give him to accentuate what he does. Williams is jack of all trades. Storm J and others may have chance to land depending on LBs etc on Special Teams. But RBs can play on all three downs.

KIM: Drake has to improve his blocking a bit if he wants to play more.

CONGEMI: Drake looks stronger right now.

KIM: - pantomimes Drake having jacked arms - Coaches talking about Drake and Ajayi’s conditioning. This is the best RB depth in years.

    CONGEMI: And dependable.

KIM: Ajayi wants more carries, proving it with conditioning. And wants to prove last year not a fluke.

Which area of team did we fail to improve, even though we needed to?

KIM (CONTRADICTING WHAT HE SAID EARLIER): If I were going to go to one it would be the Guard position. But I think we’ve got improvement at the Guard position. Maybe Defensive Tackle, although they drafted a couple DTs.

CONGEMI: DT depth behind Suh is my biggest question mark. Suh dominant. Phillips is 50/50, you’re hoping you get 45-50 plays out of him but if not raw guys are coming in to play key roles. Biggest question mark — which of those young guys can be depended on?

Was Isiah Ford the steal of the draft?

KIM: Tall. Fast. Numbers at combine a bit slow.

CONGEMI: One thing I do like about him i passing game, he has a good feel — when he comes out of a route, the QB is ready to deliver, he is not late. Good timing. Open in ‘the right window’. Not a lot of mental lining-up issues in OTAs either. Got better as days went on. won’t challenge starters. Provides depth in mix.

KIM: There are a fe good receivers out there competing for that last receiver spot or two

    CONGEMI: Yeah, Malcolm Lewis

    [No mention of Morgan]

How does single cutdown day change pre-season process this year?

BO: Gives guys more opportunity. used to be 3-4 cuts in past.

CONGEMI: Good rule. Need these guys for fourth pre-season game. Doesn’t expose guys like your primary backups to injury that game. Plus, showcases guys who could catch on elsewhere.

    BOTH: Good for fringe guys.

    Could Raekwon start?

    BOTH: INSTANT YES.

KIM: If Koa is not cleared, delayed already, has to pass physical. The longer Misi doesn’t practice the more opportunity for Raekwon. Even IF Misi practices it’ll be a good battle.

CONGEMI: Tackles well. Good in space. Can cover. rushes passer. Led team in tackles two seasons in row. Caught on very quickly. he is impactful. Will find his way on the field.

KIM: Three draftees with chance to start are Charles Harris, Raekwon and Tankersley

Congemi: Harris and McMillan will get 25-30 snaps per game, starting or not.

    Is this Wake’s last season?

BOTH: Nope. Good condition. Barring unforeseen injury.

CONGEMI: I think he’ll be allowed to have more plays.

    Me

    - Hadn’t realized pre-season game one was vs Falcons. Man, they’re gonna wanna remove that bad Superbowl taste from their mouth. They may bring a little more mustard than a typical ‘meaningless’ pre-season game #1.

the experts agree that qb production has to be high, but the board doesn't

Thanks for the write up. Like the enthusiasm about The Kwon. If he can ball from day one we might actually have fixed the biggest problem.

Wait...I thought the board ARE the experts. (No really, lots o peeps on this board know more about football than 98% of the "experts")

I think the Offense in general just has to score more TDs. Averaging 22-24 pts a game minimum but they really need to get into the 26-27 pt range to be great. And those scores NEED to come earlier in the game. Call it 52-55 TDs by the Offense as a whole. Add in 10-12 more for the D and S/T and we'll win games. So I don't think 30 Tds from THill is an unreasonable expectation, especially with the tools he has, be happier with less than 12 Ints honestly, even if that went with 25 TDs instead. I really hope the run game scores the majority of the TDs this year, that will mean we are controlling games and protecting the D for late in the season when those two units win or lose games more than QBs.

Congemi said it best. The next man up attitude only lasts so long. How often does Brady get hurt? I know injury is a chance and risk, but we need some luck

I agree. the expectation has to be higher. slow starts are for teams that are not prepared or lack talent. We should be able to score on the first two drives and place defenses on their heels or until they make adjustments

I personally think that we have Super Bowl level talent throughout this roster- it's hard to name any one position we're way behind the curve at anymore. LB and guard are unproven, sure, but I think that they'll impress. Secondary is 100% different with Jones and healthy CB's. DL is a strength, WR corp a massive strength, RB a big strength, we have two solid quarterbacks, etc. Lots of solid special teams standouts too. I love everything that I see here and I think we match up with anyone well.

Then there's those intangibles that we haven't even capitalized on yet. Williams. Grant. Drake. Carroo. Our offense can be scary good if Tannehill has a big year. I'm thinking top 5 offense, top 15 defense and a spot on the field in February. It's all coming together folks and the only thing left is to execute- I think 2017 is going to be amazing. Thank God for the Sunday Ticket.

One last note- I called a 10-6 finish last season, six wins in a row and a playoff spot when we were 1-4. Some saw the impossible happen but not me, I expected it all along due to the level of talent and the right coaching. I'm not all sunshine and rainbows...just call it like I see it and very happy when I'm right. And for 2017, I'm far more confident than I was when we were 1-4.

Football in February...mark it on your calendar. Tell a friend as well. It's about to get real in Miami.

I am leaning toward this with Ford and Morgan in house.
Let's see how camp plays out with injuries

With so many WR"s, I think they will only keep 3 RB

Not at all what anyone has argued (hyperbole, but I can't think of anyone arguing that). We have argued that, given the coaching disasters, and overall team play, the QB play had not been a problem.

Not to mention, you twisted what was said, they said the QB had to have a positive impact, not a high impact... unless you're referencing the 35 tds thing... and, if you're counting on a QB to throw 35 tds for your offense to be good, then you're arguing that you have to have an elite QB, which doesn't say much about your offense. By the way, only Rodgers, Matt Ryan, and Brees threw 35 or more tds last season. 5 guys in 2015. 3 guys in 2014. 2 guys in 2012. Getting the picture yet?

I don't know what it is but I can't really listen to these type of shows anymore, especially if it's one of these homer ones. They never really say anything but the generic, "yeah I mean, Tannehill has to be better; we gotta stay healthy, etc." They never criticize the team, I mean because hey, they are employed by them lol. Even the show's on NFL network or ESPN, I'd rather read stuff on here than listen to guys like Mark Scherleth talk about how a locker room "really" is.

Especially any type of pregame...guys do yourself a favor and google Bill Burr NFL pregame, spot on.
