Do we really think it's "proper" to put RT's knee and break in the same sentence?

I consider the knee a non issue. The only injury of substance is Pouncey right now.

He got stem cell treatment, too. At this point his previously injured knee is probably no more susceptible to injury than his other knee.

I hope so. Really expecting this to be a breakout year for him. I'm expecting 5k yards 30 Tds and 9 Ints.

Where is the 5k yards coming from?

I'm expecting us to continue to have run the ball with patience and authority and for Gase to seek balance.

Tannehill was on pace for 25 TDs last season before injury. In the first 6 games, he threw 1.46 TDs per game (6 TDs) and the offense as a whole struggled with injury and play execution before we cut the dreaded dreadheads and the offense woke up.

In the last 7 games, he threw 1.85 TDs per game (13 TDs) and for 1,471 yards.

If he can pick up where he left off and play the whole season, he should throw for apprx 30 TDs, 12 Ints, and 3362 yards.

Thill had a stem cell procedure back in January I think, maybe February.

Yeah, While I think he is going to have a great season this year, I dont think 5K yards is going to happen. I would be thrilled with 4200-4500 given that we will be running the ball quite a bit.

I don't like the idea of him playing with the brace as much as anyone says it has no effect I believe it will effect his mobility and movement to some degree and he needs to get better not be more restricted in movements.

IMO mobility in a brace is very individual and nowadays largely psychological. They've gotten lighter and more flexible to the point that it doesn't limit someone unless they feel it does. And if the player feels it helps their confidence or stability or just makes them feel safer then it probably improves their mobility.

    He's already had 2 seasons of more than 4,000 yards and nearly 30 TD's with 12 INT's. In 2014 he had 4045 yards with 27 TD's and 12 INT's. In 2015 he had 4208 yards, 24 TD's and 12 INT's. I would hope next year he's a lot better than what you posted.

What may be an issue is something Cian Fahey borught up. After getting hit so much over the last few years and now having a major injury because of it, will Tannehill still be mentally unflinching in the face of pressure to the same degree as he has been? One of his greatest traits has been his ability to deliver the ball well even as someone is about to hit him. After this major injury, will he do that the same way?

My money is on Yes, but it's a question worth asking. Some QBs get skittish about getting hit and hurt again after something like this. Like a RB learning to trust his knee again when he cuts.

Yeah, this is the one thing I am curious to see.

My feeling is, Tannehill had his Cam Wake moment of feeling like the game was taken away from him for a bit... and he didn't like it and will now be back with a vengeance. (With Cam it was not injury but feeling like he had lost his shot at the NFL... for Tannehill it's the moment he realized his knee was costing him the rest of the season and any fear he had that it could have been even worse... that moment makes you appreciate every opportunity to play that much more). PLus Tannehill had to sit and watch the Steelers destroy us and I am sure part of him felt like he wanted to be out there helping this team... all that desire can become fire and motivation to make up for missing out on the playoff game... and for not being there for his teammates.

So many arrows point towards Ryan having a highly motivated year, imo. The only question mark is if he is a bit nervous about getting hurt and doesn't feel as safe as before while he is playing.

    Slightly left of center
John Beck got skittish. Like a little bunny rabbit. Tannehill took all but one of those hits and got right back up with his mad face on. Not worried about that. Not even a little bit.

Might be a good idea to stop getting hit so much however.

Yes, and all of that was under Philbin where he was expected to pass 580+ times and there was no focus on balance or even using PA or trying to run the ball with authority.

Under Gase last season, he was on pace for 478 pass attempts, the fewest number of attempts in his career while his completion percentage was the highest.

In 2014 and 2015, he had almost 600 pass attempts. Ridiculous. In Brady's record 50 TD season, he only passed the ball 578 times.

Might just be me, but I don't see 4,500+ passing yards. Completely agree on the 30 TDs though.

    YMMV.

If Miami has a semblance of a run game, sure he will be around 4,000 again

If he starts all year then I'm sure he'll be around 4K, pretty much everyone who starts all year does get around 4K, 4K is not the bench mark it used to be, 5K is the new 4K.

Yds however don't matter, wins are all that matters, if our QB can throw for 3500 and 30TDs to 12INTs, and play well in the big games, no one will care how many yds he had.

Tannehil's knee is fine. I am no doctor, but he looks smooth in practice. You can tell you has a limp or working on a setback. I see it with Pouncey.
