I had always hoped a team would sign Kapernick, how ironic that it might have to be us?

What no one is understanding is if he's buckling right now everyone better realize that Miami cannot play him maybe his knee was worse than they thought (maybe the same dr who said Breese shoulder was done), if he's buckling with no hits he's going to buckle in the season when its on and little rest, the best thing to do is sit him out and get it healthy and get option #2 to full strength. Id rather have a Moore or someone else have first team reps for the next 6 weeks with the preseason games then have tanny come back and go down week 4 with the same knee.

Just a bad start, but until the tapes come in its all hopes!!!

Romo or Cutler. They will probably just roll with Moore. Maybe we get to see what we have with Doughty. Either way total bummer if it's bad news.

He sucks as a QB. However, not wanting him here because he hurt your little feelings, that's just, well..I'll just say people used to have thicker skin and weren't offended by everything.

We'll know by the end of the work day I guess.

If he's gone for say 2 months and not the season, do we still look at alternatives?

Bringing in Kaep will be an immediate distraction to the rest of the team.

We were talking a legit Super Bowl run within the past 48 hours. Bringing in Kaep derails all that momentum for our team and if we do make it to the playoffs, it's going to be Kaep's comeback story instead of Gase and the team turnaround in Miami. I'll pass on that, thank you. Let's keep our fingers crossed that RT is okay.

Even if he's not and may miss part of the season, we're not going to find a starter more capable than Moore. Manning won't come back at this point and I don't think Romo or Cutler are guaranteed upgrades. Solid backups- yes. But if we can't have RT17 on the field, then my faith is in Moore and the process this organization has put in place over the past two years. Moore's two losses last season came from defensive collapses and stupid mistakes by people not named Moore- I think that's important to keep in mind.

I don't even want to think about Moore though- my thoughts and prayers are with Tannehill. I'm sure he's getting an MRI this afternoon to see if there was a tear or any serious damage.

Three sprained ligaments on one knee would be pretty wild and a big time bomb.

And if Moore goes down? Need a third potential starter and it ain't Doughty. He can pray to his Marino statues all he wants, I don't have confidence in him being the backup and you probably don't either. I don't care if we bring in the freaking Hamburglar but we need to have a safety blanket.

This really doesn't look good at all. I think Tannehill is out for the season already. Damn it.

I don't want any part of Colin Kaepernick. He is the quarterback version of Terrell Owens...locker room cancer. Matt Moore is a fine quarterback. Like all of our past quarterbacks, he lacked what Tannehill lacked, proper coaching. If Tony Sparano or Joe Philbin were our head coaches, I'd be more concerned, but not with Gase. As someone already pointed out earlier, Moore's numbers were pretty freaking impressive and that is exactly what a back-up quarterback is suposed to do...come in and pick up where the starter left off.

If Tannehill is indeed out for the season, this puts more owness on developing our 3rd stringer. This season can't be a repeat of what, 2007?...Cam Cameron's only year in which we were down to Cleo Lemon as our quarterback

I think even if tanny didn't tear anything I think the left knee is just a ticking time bomb, and id rather not even risk playing 30% of the season then having Moore come in and take a few weeks to get in the groove id rather him just take over right now and see how tanny progresses in practice.

If the the worst case scenario is true. My first step would be to beg Tony Romo. If he says "no", I would ask him again. It is entirely possible that Romo would play just as good as RT if not better.

In the likelihood that that he refuses again, and my kidnap attempts fail, I would then call up Jay Cutler. When he last played with Gase he was good. He knows the system.

If he said "no", I would call Cleveland and ask if Brock Osweiller is available. I would be willing to send them a 7th round pick if they would eat part of his salary. He is young and began in Denver. I think people soured on him a little too early.

RGIII would be my next choice. This is more a flier. He entered the league with a ton of potential, but injuries really held him back. I envision him as strictly a backup to Moore.

Finally, Colin Kapernick. I think he has regressed. This is solely on playing ability. His stats look better than what he is because of junk time.

You guys are aware that Jay Cutler is very bad at doing the NFL QB thing right?

You'd take RG3 over Kaepernick? Are you crazy?

I say we take a page out of Don Shula's playbook during the '72 season...

Bob Griese went down with a broken leg in week 5 against San Diego and Earl Morrell, the GREATEST back-up quarterback ever in my opinion came in and led the Dolphins to the Super Bowl, continuing the Dolphins perfect season. Griese in fact was actually cleared to play when Miami made it to the playoffs, but kept Morrell the starter until Griese relieved Morrell in the second half of the AFC Championship game against Pittsburgh.

This is what we need to do. Gase, get Tannehill the treatment he needs. If it's surgery, so be it. Do it NOW!!! Perhaps with some aggressive rehab, Tannehill could be ready by season's end if we need him, but you've developed Moore, he played well last year, let him be the back-up he's supposed to be, come in and pick up where Tannehill left off and carry the team.

I have faith in Moore because I've followed his whole career and seen what an asset he becomes to the players around him. If it wasn't for playing with concussions in Carolina, I have a feeling that he would have become a perennial top-10 passer and led somebody for a very long time. We were lucky to get him for peanuts.

You're right though, we will need SOMEONE to compete for the starting/backup role if it comes to that- I just don't want to talk about it today. Just read that Gase went with Tannehill for an MRI and they got back to camp about 20 minutes ago. Still waiting on results...it was definitely the left knee though. Our best case scenario is Tannehill rides a bike on the sidelines for two weeks and then rehabs two more to start the season....that's all I'm focusing on & praying for today.

All this "distraction" talk is a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Maybe he'll be a distraction for a week or so, but only via the media asking a lot of questions. Then, after all the questions have been answered, it will be over and it will be time to play football.

that is the key to the season. we can whether 4-6 weeks of RT out, but if Moore goes down, we deserve a fighting chance
