Specifically for the on-going discussion of what to do with Tannehill not being able to play (specific injury stuff elsewhere).

Moore is the kind of qb that will groom a free agent right now until they are able to be a starter. I think Moore would prefer to play relief

I would like to see us swing a mid round pick for Nick Foles.

please, no Colin Karpernick. he is a blight on the entire NFL. Christian Ponder is available & could play behind Moore for a while, then compete for the job. Matt Moore deserves a shot at the position & is up & ready to step up as QB as we post.

They both play QB? That's about it... Jay Cutler has an undeserved reputation amongst NFL fans. After hurting his MCL in the NFC championship game a few years back, he didn't return to the game. Since then, he's been **** talked as soft (despite missing only 15 games in 11 years, prior to last season when he was benched). Even when people found out the truth about his injury, all the haters never apologized for being wrong. And Jay Cutler never gave a **** about their opinions anyway, which seems to irk people even more... It's like yelling at someone and that person remains totally calm. It aggravates them even more. For some reason, he can't shake off the negative perception that has become attached to him. The media loves this narrative and continues to chum the waters every season.

Jay Cutler is not an elite QB. He's not garbage either. Elite arm talent to be sure. He's a quality starter. In fact, his doppelganger is Eli Manning. Uncanny similarities in their numbers for their careers.

    Cutler: 4.6% TD, 3.3% INT, 7.2 Y/A, 6.8 NY/A. 85 QB Rating.
    Manning: 4.7% TD, 3.2% INT, 7.1 Y/A, 6.4 NY/A. 83.7 QB Rating.

If you would take Eli to replace Tannehill for 1 season, why NOT Cutler? If Miami wants to compete, Cutler is the guy they have to sign. He's the most talented QB available (I'm not counting Romo, he will ONLY return to Dallas, IMO) and he has experience with Gase and his system. It's a perfect match...

Brock Osweiler is the answer. He would win multiple Superbowls with this defense and these receivers.

Has anyone asked Matt Moore who he thinks should come in for Tannehill?

Cutler btw is feast of famine. One week a 108 QB rating the next week a 32 QB rating

Height is the most accurate predictor of Superbowls. Almost a 1 to 1 correlation. Tallest player is always best.

Cutler has some impressive playing skills, no doubt about that.
Is Bridgewater a possiblity ? I like Bridgewater very much.

Yeah, the whole 'saving a lost season' bit makes for a great story. That said, even if Jay becomes the next starting QB for the Miami Dolphins I will still get a chuckle out of this website.

At this point, it does seem like Cutler is going to be the answer. Here is a list of names that I think are worth investigating:

    Romo
    Osweiler
    AJ McCarron
Chase Daniel (this may be a better option than it appears)
    Trevor Siemion

Whoever said Nick Foles, I think that is a really good idea. Kinda a poor man's Alex Smith. He is the kinda guy that you could build a system around. Coincidentally, we have one of the best coaches at building a system around player's strengths.

His wife has pushed him to retire for a very long time now due to the concussions. She was fine with living in Miami with her hubby sitting the bench and grooming Tannehill, but she's scared to death every time he takes the field. So that's what he goes home to each day- huge support but a lot of nervous energy asking him why he still does it.

Moore also promised his wife in '11 that he wouldn't leave Miami to seek a starting job. He considered it, from what I heard she got ugly and put her foot down. So the Fins have her to thank for him riding the bench as the league's best backup.

It's a shame the Dolphins did not select a QB with one of their draft picks.
At this time I think the best thing to do is invite any available rookie or 2nd year QB's to training camp. Maybe the coaching staff will see potential in one of those type guys.

This is getting as bad as draft pick speculation.

At this rate we'll end up with some undrafted rookie QB coming in.

That or Marino comes out of retirement.

    :)

So in other words the RT17 era is over in Miami.. I know some ppl will think I'm jumping the gun but the writing is on the wall.. if you have followed the NFL for 30 years like me then you know this is an obvious attempt at suppressing RT and moving in a new direction.. no argument here, and I like RT... he will land in his feet somewhere...
