Insurgency. I've always been a Counterstrike player but with all the cheating and Valve's willingness to turn a blind eye for skin sales, I've really come to appreciate Insurgency.

So I finally finished Xenoblade Chronicles X. My thoughts...
-If you got a Wii U, cop this game.
-Definitely worth the B grade. It has a lot going for it, but definitely has some room for improvement.
-Would definitely not be mad if this gets a remaster for the Nintendo Switch.
    -Really hoping for a sequel.

It was free this month, so I got Life is Strange. In the middle of the second chapter, and the time rewind stuff is surprisingly fun.

I expect another big update for No Man's Sky near the game launch anniversary, so I might be back to that soon. As for newer purchases, I have played an couple of the FlatOut games and liked them. There is one for the PS4 now, so that is a possible purchase this month.

With it on sale everywhere for $29.99, I decided to pick up the PS4 remaster of Skyrim. Haven't played the game at all in three years, and not much since I think 2012, so it should be fun to get back into.

I'm trying to figure out how to put $50 together to get Elite: Dangerous for PS4 on June 27. I played it ad infinitum on the Commodore 64 back in the day, and I can't imagine what a blast it would be on PS4.

Picked up FFXV during the PS sale. It's charming to say the least, although the load times make me want to blow my brains out. Feels like I need to upgrade to a Pro.

Install an SSD in your PS4. Helps quite a bit with load times off the drive, though you'll still see load screens as you transition to and from big areas and chapters.

Speaking of load times, they're almost nothing on the PS4 version of SKyrim! A few seconds, tops, rather than the 30-90 seconds that was typical on the PS3.

Going to dip my toe into the mods that are available and see if I can figure it out. Haven't done any of that since the Sims about 15 years ago.

For PCs, yes. For the PS4, it's overkill. Just get a Crucial MX300 or something. The PS4 uses SATA II speeds, while the Pro uses SATA III speeds.

Finished up Life is Strange, and enjoyed the time travel and plot twists. The free games from PSN have been pretty good the last couple months. Speaking of which.....

Downloaded and played through Until Dawn this weekend. Saved three people the first run through the whole game, then went back and replayed the last chapter, managed to save 5 the second time (six if you count one guy getting captured not killed). I hated the camera angles through most of the game, but I see why they did it -to increase the scare/surprise factor as things could more easily come out of nowhere on you. Until Dawn walks a fine line between Horror movie tribute and parody of said genre. I really can't complain when it was free.

X-COM: Enemy Within (on PC). Had started some years ago with Enemy Unknown, but recently picked it back up to play. It's quite fun.

Been playing Enter the Gungeon which is a Zelda esque(LoZ/LttP) roguelike dungeon crawl.. It's very similar to The Binding of Isaac but not as grotesque. Everything is gun related and you find pretty crazy guns. So far my favorite gun is the bullet that shoots guns which in turns shoots more bullets.

I've taken over server duties and partial responsibility for running my ArmA 3 unit. The only thing I've even remotely had time to play lately is Fate/Grand Order on my phone. It's a grindfest with one of the most awkwardly scripted translations ever, but the core game is fun and a nice way to waste some time.

I remembered to pre-order Everyone's Golf yesterday while I was out and about. The $40 price was the deciding factor, but I'll check some reviews before picking it up. At worst, I switch my order to that new Uncharted game that is also $40.

DrAstroZoom; Since you have a PS4, and seem to be looking for a space exploration type of game? The updates for No Man's Sky have really added depth and story to the game. Even a bit of very basic multi-player if you want it (you can chat with other players who appear as glowing orbs). I've seen a couple used copies of NMS at every Gamestop I've been in the last couple months, priced at $20.

My family will be getting Everybody's Golf when it comes out in a few weeks too. My wife and I loved the last one on the PS3, and all of the added features in this one look great, including the ability to create characters who are kids.

I have enough confidence in Gase that I don't feel the need to obsess over the team anymore. I'm not nearly as worried or concerned about the team as I have been under the last few clowns. Coupled with a promotion at my real job and the virtual second job that is now my ArmA community thing, and the Dolphins became a third priority at best.

I have plenty of thoughts about the Dolphins, like how I wasn't a huge fan of this year's draft, but there's no point in posting or complaining. I think Gase will keep things together, but we'll miss the playoffs this year, in part because of the medical mishandling of Ryan Tannehill.

Well thanks for being the first person here to agree with my sentiment that the team ****ed up with Ryan.. Nothing can disprove the outcome of his treatment and no that doesn't make me an armchair doctor.

Has there been a sentiment here that Tannehill's medical situation was handled correctly? If he went down to a non-contact injury, then it's fairly clear he wasn't handled correctly, IMO. Individually, it can be considered a freak thing. But this is just the latest star in the constellation of questionable medical decisions by the Miami Dolphins. The context in which this is occurring cannot be discounted.

So there's the closest I'll come to a Dolphins hot take. Gase knows what he's doing.

Farting around on my phone on crap games atm.

Looking for the game to replace DAoC/WoW. Would love to have that right now.

Hindsight is always 20/20. There are numerous studies showing that him not having surgery was the best option. Obviously that turned out to be incorrect. At the time, however, it was the right thing to do.

As far as his recent injury being non-contact, talk to Teddy Bridgewater about that. Tons of ACL's are torn without any contact from another player.

It is legitimate to question the Dolphins medical staff due to their history. But how many changes, if any, have been made since, say, the Brees/ Culpepper mistake?

The only announced changes to the training staff happened as a result of the Incognito scandal, to my recollection.

And I really don't want to hijack this thread any more than I already have, so, let's leave the football talk in the football forums.

I just got Cities Skylines for the PS4 as a gift, and played a few hours last night. As expected, it shares a lot in common with Sim City, but there are plenty of differences as well. It holds your hand a lot less, which might be great once I'm used to it, but right now, I'd like some more advice, lol. I wish that there was a setting that I could toggle on/off as far as that goes. It'll be a lot of trial and error.

Elex looks more like a AA title than a AAA. I'm sure that it will have its shortcomings, and something akin to Fallout 4 might be its ceiling. I won't be buying it next week at launch for full price, but I remain interested. Very curious to see reviews once its out in the wild.

Okami is getting a HD remaster and will release not only on the PS4, but also the Xbox One and the PC on December 12th. I never played it, but its my wife's favorite game of all time, and I spent many hours watching her enjoy it. Hopefully this does well and it gets a chance for a sequel.

I didn't know of its existance before reading the article, but I'm also hesitant to refer to anything thats exclusively on a handheld a true sequel regardless. To me its sort of like saying that a 30 minute program on a cable network is a sequel to a major motion picture.

    I mean it is a 20+ hour game, I don't really think that's a fair comparison. It's not a throw-away game.

And I didn't realize it was mentioned in the article, I thought it was just an article talking about the re-release.

Basically finished the singe player, offline content of Everybody's Golf in about two weeks. Sadly disappointed in how shallow a game it is. The previous version on the PS3 took me months. Its pretty, and handles well, but there's just not much too it. Not worth the $40 I spent. I'll check out the online aspect of it when I'm eventually able to, but its headed to the shelf for now.

After buying it ages ago, I finally jumped into the Ratchet and Clank reboot, only to find that its not. Its not a remaster either, but its a ground up remake of mostly existing R&C content, virtually identical to that found in previous games, just made for the PS4 so its prettier, with some bonus features slapped on. That's not what I expected, after reading the reviews, which made it out to be a brand new video game version of the feature film. Its still fun, but I'm very glad that I bought it on ultra clearance below $20 and not anywhere near full price.

I'm still working through unlocking stuff for Everybody's Golf. I have created versions of friends and family as golfers which is more fun than I thought it would be. It does seem to be focused on online play, which I have less interest in.

I grabbed a new copy of Flatout4 at Walmart for $30, so I picked that up yesterday. Played one quick race in Career mode, and it is exactly what I expected, just better looking. I don't play racing game all that much since my personal heyday on the old Dreamcast and first Xbox consoles.

I just completed The Frozen Wilds DLC last night. A really good addition to the main game. Some really funny moments, a few sad ones, some new robotic animals, and some new weapons/armor too. It took me 12 hours or a bit more to complete. Death was not uncommon, as the enemies will be faster, tougher, and the powered armor offers less protection than it used to. Certain enemies will take your shield down immediately too. The pacing seemed a bit off again, as the ending is a half hour of talking (filling in a lot of details on the world before and what was going on in the Yellowstone area before the end). Actually, I might go back and take out a few more of the new machines in a couple areas, and I want to find the complete set of animal figurines (which are used to awesome/funny effect).

Looking to the near future, I am debating about getting the PSVR. There are some nice bundle deals for Black Friday and we still have some credit with Dell, so we might get a bundle for about $250 if it all works out. There are a half dozen game that I'd like to play, but only the Skyrim VR game looks like it would take quite some time to play through. Most of the VR games seems to fall into the $15-$20 range and offer a couple hours of gameplay. Is the PS4 Pro really needed to run the PSVR decently though? That would add quite a bit more to the cost of getting into VR gaming.
