I want to start by saying Pouncey was quoted as saying "he gets the ball out fast and commands the huddle."

Apparently he has great pocket awareness and connected on a couple long bombs to Parker and Stills. Looks like he has complete control of the offense.

Could this be a Cinderella story for Miami this year? When in the past several years has a qb generated so much buzz in camp?

He apparently is willing to throw the deep pass.

Said it before - if Jim Plunkett can rebound and win two Super Bowls after being written off by just about everyone, why the hell not Cutler?

I'll admit that I'm a little excited about Cutler's big arm potential in our offense. That 31 yard pass to DeVante Parker against the Baltimore Buzzards (hate that team) was very pretty, although it was called back. The other pass to Parker that was incomplete (double coverage) made me a little nervous, but Cutler put the ball in a position that the 2 defenders couldn't get it. That is what we are going to see this year. Hold on tight. LOL

We've seen a lot of guys look fantastic in practice or passing drills. I'll hold onto the high expectations until we see him in real games.

Hope you guys are right about Cutler, but this is a guy who took 9 sacks in a HALF of a game and separately in 2 games, took 12 or 15 sacks and threw 5 or more INTs in those 2 games... nice arm, but it's never won him much. He also led the league in sacks and yards lost one year. He had his best year when reined in from the dumb mistakes by Gase.

While we have better surrounding talent than he's played with previously, I'll take a wait and see as to which Cutler we're getting. Again, hope you're right about him.

It's no secret I've been committed to Tannehill when many others here have opined against him but when it comes to Cutler, I have to say this from friends of mine who are Bears fans. They have told me that Cutler NEVER had the O-line in Chicago that he has here in Miami and they are really EXCITED for him.

One of my friends told me that Cutler is really going to light it up in Miami and is convinced we are going to have a GREAT year. Here's to hoping he's right.

When Cutler tosses that 1st pick in a Phins uniform....ya'll try and remain calm, ya hear.

My one misgiving was that Cutler would throw more picks.

But even during our hottest stretch last year Tannehill wasn't that far ahead of Cutler in TD:INT ratio while Cutler was under Gase -- with fewer weapons than Cutler will have here.

    See above.

This was my main knock on him too.

But he posted a 2:1 TD:INT ratio (approx) under Gase.

And it looks like he has more weapons here than he did then. PLUS this is his SECOND time in a Gase offense, plus he is more experienced, plus he is more motivated IMO because he wants to win even more badly after having though he'd retired for good without winning a superbowl... when a player 'loses' his opportunity to play football then gets a second chance, well see Cam Wake... and Cutler knows this is likely his last place to get to try for playoff success and maybe a ring.

Pairing Adam Gase with Jay Cutler is an exciting prospect.

The other part of that is the receivers and the entire darn offense...Cutler has never been surrounded by this level of weapons. I don't know Cutler's history past what has been shared here, but better receivers and a solid run game has to play to his favor.

Gase does his best work with QBs with the most cranial height from eyebrows to top of crown. The taller the cranium, the higher the QBR and playoff success.

I would argue Tannehill's cranium is bigger than Tebow's, at least from the provided pics.

If Gase sees this, Cutler is gone.

I think Gase does a good job of calling plays to utilize the talent he has on the offensive side of the ball. I think Cutler will be fine.
