Definitely need to draft a project QB next year to develop in the 3-4 round. Fales and Doughty are bad.

Jay Fiedler with a strong arm sounds wonderful. That was the only thing Fiedler lacked was arm strength. Dude was very smart and gave his heart and soul trying to win every week for us.

Not just Fales and Doughty. The third string offensive linemen do not belong on an NFL field, and we keep hoping we can make do.

It's funny cause Jay Fiedler is Matt Moore with a strong arm too. Cutler was basically a cookie cutter of Matt Moore himself. High INT % but under good circumstances makes up for it in big plays. Thing is, Cutler hasn't done **** in years. Matt Moore is coming off his best season of football ever?

I'm a what have you done for me lately kind of guy. I'm also a 'who deserves it' kinda guy.

The OL in general will be the downfall of this team. It's just... not good.

Moore is also a concussion waiting to happen. We neede 2 QB's hence the signing of Cutler.
Our backups currently are complete garbage.

Matt Moore looked good for a handful of games last year. Not close to a full or half season vs Jay Cutler with a decade+ starting at QB in the NFL.

I like Matt Moore as our backup. I'll take Cutler every day over Moore if both are healthy.

All I have seen were a couple "highlights" Cutlers first pass to Ajayi was on target and a nice play.

WHAT THE FLIP WAS LANDRY DOING??? JTrain just cleared concussion protocol and he's ripping him out of the pile and trying to throw him forward for a few extra YARDS??? It's a PRESEASON GAME YOU FLIPPING IDGIT!!!!!

Love Landry's passion and fight, but brah, don't go breaking things in a PRESEASON GAME!!!!

Jay Cutler had a very sweet 31 yard completion to DeVante parker that was called back due to a clear holding penalty. Plays like that never show up in the stats, but evaluators pay attention and judge accordingly.

Chase Allen, WTF was the fire? He was acting like he won a job already. He was just going through the motions. On at least two plays the effort was low. He should have dived and made the Raven lose one yard. Several times a better angle was there he did not execute. He confirmed my worry about him. His coverage skills are average at best right now. He needed to do more if he wants to be a starter. We need to add a LB that can cover. We only have Kiko and Timmons that I trust right now on all downs.

We only had a small sample from the starting line-up that it makes it difficult to offer accurate critique of the Dolphins' performance last night, but from what I did see...

Penalties, penalties, penalties...we have GOT to get those under control. Sam Young's holding penalty negated a 31 yard completion from Cutler (which looked SHARP btw) and converting on 3rd down.

My desire to have Ajayi play one series came to fruition and the J-Train looked good, no ill effects from getting his bell rung.

Cutler, although his stats of 3/6 for 24 yards is dismal in my opinion looked good. Had a commanding presence on the field; Overall, I thought he did well.

Starting defense looked good with Maxwell forcing 2 fumbles.

The field however...that turf just looked so...loose! There were divots all over the place. Looked as if players were losing their footing. I just don't ever recall the field looking that soft before. That causes me pause for concern.

Really liked the starting CBs last night. Maxwell got beat because of field condition but I love that he tried to knock the ball out when he tackles. Shades of Peanut Tillman. Howard.. what can you say? Great coverage and great over the shoulder interception. Even Verner almost came away with a pick.

All of the linebackers outside of Alonso and Timmons were not great. Hull had a nice PBU but was washed out of a couple runs. Allen came crashing back down to earth, and even looked a little scared to tackle Maxx Williams.

Fales is letting his teammates down. Stringfellow had a step on the Ravens and Fales overthrew it. Stringfellow is another guy that's been up and down. Back-up QBs haven't even given Drew Morgan a chance. He's been quiet during games, and it might have psyched him out on his muffed punt return.

Thought Cutler looked good when given time. Starting receiving corps looked into it. Julius Thomas has been pretty quiet. Ajayi looked like Ajayi (he runs with so much conviction).

really hard to evaluate those 2 when the OL and the rest of the backups are pretty horrible.

I have to wait until tonight at 4 to watch the game on nfl network (Socal), heard cutlers performance wasn't exciting and by the score I could guess nothing really was, did we just not show up? above watching cutler and Moore's performance who did well? who I should pay attention to, to whomever watched the game over there in FLA?

I'm not sure what game everyone else was watching, but Cutler was by far the best, most talented QB on the field...and it's not even close.

I love Matt Moore for his grit and he's the best backup in the league, but his arm strength is not that of a starting QB anymore. I'm guessing that's the reason he's basically chosen to be a backup instead of trying to start elsewhere when he's had plenty of opportunity.

Meanwhile, Cutler's ball had amazing velocity, and more impressively he was making lightning quick reads, which is incredible for a guy who was retired 2 weeks ago. Cutler is by FAR a better QB than Matt Moore...and he very well might even be better than Tannehill.

I'm not sure what you guys were watching but I thought Cutler had a good pocket presence, put the ball where it should be and did an overall pretty good job on his TWO series.

im afraid we are going to have to risk it and put the full starting lineup for two to three quarters.. they need more time together. The Buccaneers should not be taken lightly. That entire nfc south division is looking ridiculous.

His main shortcoming was he was so often injured. Had he managed to stay healthy in 2002 and 2003, we'd have made the playoffs both years. Who knows after that what may have happened. He only started 21 of 32 games in those two seasons combined and the team went 14-7, but only 5-6 in the other 11. Jaybird, playing with one good arm, led us to our last playoff win. Let that sink in for a minute. Seems like eons ago.

Yeesh Jay Fiedler praise in here. Shows you the state of our team for so long that anyone would point to that guy as the standard we want.
That guy would not have ever had a starting job in the NFL had it not been for Wanny and his complete incompetence in handling our QB spot.
Fee Fee and Wanny were the main reasons we wasted a championship caliber defense.

As for the state of our team now you have to make QB a top draft priority IMO next year. The position is too important and Tanny has grown but now you add the injury concerns and it's time.

This is something that isn't talked about much. Ryan Tannehill is one of the worst starting QB's in the NFL with Pocket Presence/Awareness. Like a freakin' statue. Nobody likes to talk about that though.

Ryan has improved at that. Not a strength of his, but not the glaring weakness it once was.

I used to say Cutler doesn't protect the ball as well as Tanny... but they both spent one year with Gase, and Cutler posted a better TD:INT ratio than Tanny.

Says every team in the league except three or four.

Marino spoilt us and we have to get used to the idea that HoF QBs are not a dime a dozen.
