When do teams move their best corner inside? I feel like that must be pretty rare considering very few elite corners also play the slot, usually the role of the nickel.

I did say if. And more likely not. So Landry goes against their nickel or LB

“I did talk to him and told him there’s no chance that he’s going to be traded,” Gase said, via ESPN.com. “And if something that’s not true comes out like that, then I’m going to deal with it. I’m going to approach the player. … I just let him know that there’s no chance I’m going to trade you.”

I would assume any team for any player would "listen" to trade offers. You never know when someone is going to throw you an offer you can't say no to.

From the outside looking in, I assume the reason we haven't even attempted to start contract talks with Landry is our estimation of his value is way below his expectation. So we move into the season with both sides having something to prove. Miami needs to prove that Landry is replaceable and/or his replacement is already on the team. Landry needs to prove his level of play wasn't the default scenario of the position he played in the scheme the Dolphins use.

I like Landry, I hope he is a Dolphin for many years to come, but if the 2 sides are this far apart a trade might not be the worst thing for both sides.

Ok, I just read a report about the Browns aggressively trying to trade CB Joe Haden. Now that would be a fantastic trade opportunity for Landry no?

I'd just keep in mind Haden has played 7 years and Jarvis 3. Average career length for both positions tends to be around 10-11 years. But otherwise that's a fair trade (won't save money of course).

Come on Deej you know that means nothing. Once that stuff gets out, it's not gonna be discussed outside closed doors.

I mean Landry set his deadline at September 10. No one else did. I have a deadline of September 1 for Candace Swaenpoel and 4 Dolphins cheerleaders to invite me to have swimming pool sex with all of them. If they call on September 2 I'm totally not available.

I was playing Bridge with my mother as my partner at a tournament and screwed up one hand, telling her that I went with my "instincts"...

My mom told me, "Well, then your In Stinks". ((Ouch))

I shut up then. Mom wins as usual.

No, not necessarily but I take coach speak to the media with a grain of salt. And maybe that's true but you Gott expect these rumors came from somewhere in house.

Could this be more accurate now that there's video of JL domestic dispute?

The longer this goes on the more I believe the Dolphins don't see Landry with the team in the long run and that they'll get the most out of him in a trade. They aren't going to rush it, but it looks to me like they see him as an opportunity to pull in other players through trades (whether FA or picks) and less value as a WR on the field.
