Hi all, trying to do some research on Jarvis Landry. What are the beat writers saying about the Cutler-to-Landry connection? How many targets do you anticipate Landry getting this year? What kind of statline do you see him putting up this year?
Tannehill was over-dependent on Landry from a receptions standpoint, esp short ones. I expect Landry to be depended on, but the passes will be longer and that always goes your chance for more TD's. I expect him be at 10-11 TD's, 88 catches for 1,200 yards
have to understand though, imo the short stuff is where Landry can get the separation needed to do his damage, the longer he goes down the field the easier cover he becomes...I would absolutely not adjust Juices route tree..let him do what he great, cutler needs to adjust to him, cutler needs that outlet like any qb does.
PPR 10 team league: QB - Aaron Rodgers RB1 - Christian McCaffrey RB2 - Ty Montgomery WR1 - Jordy Nelson WR2 - Alshon Jeffrey TE - Jordan Reed Flex - Sammy Watkins K - (Change frequently) Wil Lutz DST - Houston Texans Bench: WR - DeVante Parker WR - Eric Decker WR - Corey Coleman RB - Doug Martin RB - Jacquizz Rodgers TE - Tyler Eifert QB - Phillip Rivers CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
huh? you think its the qbs fault for his average? his average per catch reflects what I'm saying..he's the best in the game at what he does, no need for him to be on the perimeter or make him change his game, his average shouldn't fluctuate much over his career.
65 catches 700 yards 6 tds. I don't think Jay will use Landry as much, Stills numbers will probably surpass Landry's this year.
Parker's the guy you want to get the ball to, so it all depends on his health, which is questionable until he plays a whole season or nearly a whole season. If Parker is okay all year, expect less targets and catches from Landry. His YPC should go up a bit though, with a QB who is less afraid to get the ball downfield now with us. He may get a TD or 2 extra as he may get the ball thrown more deep, but he's not a TD machine. Just my opinion.
1200 yards and 11-12 tds is pretty much elite receiver numbers. He will not have that. Landry's ypc is low because the routes he excels at give you that ypc. I do think that Landry needs to be used in know intermediate crossing routes, where he can break tackle sand get more yards, or simply have more open space in general. I don't think he's going to do his damage out on the boundary.
I think that this will be a down year for Landry as a fantasy player. I think that Parker will lead the team in TDs and receiving yards... Receptions is a real possibility as well. Also, we payed Kenny Stills big money, so expect him to get a decent amount of targets. Also, remember that we traded for Julius Thomas, and I really do think Gase wants to get the TE involved. Landry gets a lot of receptions but not a lot of TDs. As a fantasy player, I would stay away - not because he is a bad player but because we have plenty of mouthes to feed.
If the past is indicative of future results he will have dozens of receptions behind the line of scrimmage that go NOWHERE.
