I know its only preseason, but the Pats defense looks old. 1st qtr http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80a1454e 2nd qtr http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80a14900
I think TB had a 17 play drive to open the game that ended with a touchdown. Horrible play from NE even though Miami didn't do much better last week.
You know your secondary is in piss poor shape when Brian Griese goes 8 for 8 on the Opening Drive on your arse.
What are you talking about? Haven't you heard, they're pushing for another perfect season. I hope they fall flat on their face this season. Is the average age of their defensive players up to 40 yet?
Brian Griese is the greatest preseason QB in the history of the NFL. Even when he played down here he'd start off 8-8, 10-12. He's mastered the soft zone, vanilla D's teams usually throw out there in the PS.
Little early for pronouncing the Pats as washed up. Preseason games mean very little usually. Good to see them beat up a little but I personally wouldn't take anything from it as a sign they're done.
Sorry if you thought I said washed up, thats not what I intended. I just think their starting D looked a little slow. I do realize it's only preseason, and alot of things can change.
Yeah they did. Signing John Lynch didn't help them get any younger either, did it? I know that most of the media are hesitant to criticize them, but their defense did look slow and nowhere near what it used to be. They lost 3 solid contributers in their secondary. Harrison, Bruschi and Vrabel are 1 year older and now they've signed Lynch. Plus a rookie ILB. Sure Harrison and Lynch are both big hitters......but they've got to catch ya first. I'm not insinuating that they're washed up, but I think they're going to look more like mere mortals than before.
Are they really ???.....I think that maybe they're believing all of the hype that they hear about themselves. Junior is another who will be effective in some certain instances, but a liability in alot of others.
Yeah, he's trying to decide whether he should retire or come back to the team. EDIT: Here's the article. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/articles/2008/08/11/return_engagement_for_seau/
i wish they looked that good. but its only preseason, im ore concerned about brady still not playing and perhaps he might this fridays scrimage too theres now way in god's creation that the pats will go 16-0 in the regular season, but will say confidently, its going to be tough for any team in the afc-east to take the division (notice i didnt say the afc )
