I agree. IMO, This is a franchise defining loss. This game showed who we are, who are coaches are, what our players are made of. The good news is the new regime, if we are so lucky, won't have to wonder about paying Jarvis Landry...the way he played today, the third round pick you get from letting him walk is a steal. We have no one that we should extend. Go all Cleveland Browns....get rid of any and everyone with value. Start over. We need a complete fresh start, IMO.
I was at this one and it was hot as hell and the phins didn't show up.I couldn't understand in the first half as I kept watching them stack the box and we had 1-1 coverage time and time again cutler would not change the play.WTF!
We had a lot of demoralizing losses in 2015, where it felt like we were totally inept and helpless. But yes, today felt like that. Today was the third time in the last 15 games that we've scored 7 or fewer points. The stats at the end of the game, first downs, plays run, ect, make it look better than it was.
Exactly...3 first downs and six punts in the first half. We come out in the second half, incomplete, -5 run, incomplete. Next possession, another three and out and the fake punt. Final numbers are awful, but reality is much worse.
last year after the TN game, we went on a run. Gase did some extreme things, like cut linemen. That won't happen this year, but I am wondering if he finally incorporates Grant, for example, and when you see what Hill is doing for KC, you wonder if it is time. Look , the defense has only allowed 20 points a game. Last year, our offense on paper was supposedly worse, yet we averaged 22-24 ppg. You aren't going to win many games scoring a total of 3 points in the first half (2 games). And aside from a garbage TD, you won't win scoring 0 either in an entire game
I was really frustrated after that but I wasn't nearly as demoralized as this weekend. We were expected to be atrocious that season, while that game was really bad, I still say we overachieved that year going 7-9. We are coming off a playoff season and nearly getting shut out by the worst team in the league is way more demoralizing, in my opinion.
There will never be a more demoralizing loss than 62-7. Never. There is a rather large number of competitors for second place, this one would be in the twenties somewhere in order of disappointment probably.
Being a young fan (25 years old, so I don't really remember 62-7) I would say this was the most disappointing loss since the 2013 finale against the Jets. Had the Fins won, they'd have been in the Playoffs, which would've been a miracle, given what all had gone on that season.
7 of the top twenty could be vs the jesters. It's why we hate the bus turds so much. That was one. This was another. I was on the field for the stinker to end the 2015 season. The Monday night miracle, Seeing JT in gangrene, I really don't want to go too much further down memory lane here. But Gaddangit I hate the flippin jest!
If we're offering up demoralizing losses, I'd like to submit the Packers game from 2014. We had 3 chances to win that game on the final drive (Rodgers fumble, 4th and 10, Finnegan missed tackle) and still couldn't finish it off. That game still bothers me to this day. That was right after the London game where we smoked Oakland, and after the Green Bay loss, we beat the Bears, Jaguars, and Chargers. Then we lost another heartbreaker at the last second to Detroit. That season could have been so different.
This is a good one too. We even dominated the 1st quarter + of that game and then everything fell apart.
