Why is it that those protesting discount that they are impacting millions in a negative way the same that they are saying that their being impacted in a negative way? It's almost like the same thing.

Dol-Fan Dupree - people are really turned off by what occurred. It's easy to say don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out but it may start to impact the NFL to a large degree. By just dismissing CashinFist like you did you dismiss the many, many people that make the NFL what it is today. And so many are unhappy and if they walk away it just might impact the product. The players can't just keep saying F the fans we do what we want. Odell Beckem's display is a disgrace. So watch out what you wish for.

I never said I was going to quit watching. If I was a WWE fan (I am not) this is way more fun and drama that Wrestling ever will be. The NFL is all rigged too, just like WWE.

But, to say that there aren't people upset about the actions of the NFL and the NFL players right now? You obviously aren't paying attention:

Just looking at history and what has happened in the past.

People get angry, they make a big stink, but in the end most of them still end up eating at Chic Fil A or shopping at Hobby Lobby.

Are millions turning off? I will see it when I believe it. NFL ratings are down, however, they are down from history ridiculous highs that, IMO, are very unsustainable. There is a reason they are doing more outside the US market to grow the brand than inside. There is only so much bigger they can get.

As long as I have been alive I have yet have a season where some fans didn't burn NFL jerseys for some reason.

NFL fans are the least happy people in the world. They boo the national anthem for god sake.

My wife was a huge Niners fan and a Cap fan. And then he disrespected the flag and country. Then wore police are pigs socks. She doesn't watch anymore. She was a casual fan. I think losing the casual fan is going to hurt.

I usually watch most games as I have Sunday Ticket. After the BS that took place this weekend I will just record the games and fast forward through all the commercials and the BS at the beginning. I don't have much desire to see it live anymore. I am a little more than a casual fan. So starting to lose me for all the other games may start to hurt. Or may not. But people are starting to become alienated if you believe that or not is up to you. Time will tell.

Are you even reading the posts? Finatik said they weren't standing because they had disdain for the country. Dupree said that doesn't make sense because that's not why they are kneeling. Then you said it does. Which again doesn't make sense because that's not why they are kneeling. Maybe you should read up on why they are kneeling.

I get why people are upset. I just disagree with them.

Just like anything, they make it about themselves or something extreme like "Hating this country" Which is just stupid. It does not make any sense.

If anyone is showing disrespect to this great country it is the people who are upset with the protests. People who are upset with people kneeling, but cheer a man wearing a flap poncho and masterbating to a woman wearing a flag bikini.

That is the exact way that I and many millions of Americans feel. You won't change the way we feel, but the NFL WILL stop it all eventually. I predict by mid-season, no more kneeling, not on any team. I also predict the NFL makes up some lousy excuse to make President Trump look bad in the process. Worst case scenario? Opening Game next season, kneeling for the National Anthem is FIRED!

First off just because you feel someone is doing something for a certain reason doesn't make it so.

If you really think someone gets fired or cut over kneeling you're delusional. The coaches are behind the players, the ceos are behind the players and Roger Goodell/ the NFL PA are behind the plays. Have fun in your imaginary totalitarian dictatorship.

This really isnt a controversial cause. Fighting for social equality and the right not to get the **** beaten out of you by the police unjustifiably is not controversial. This isnt even a political issue. Basic human rights and equality is not political. It is the most basic of rights that every single person should agree with. And our moron president has brought it into the mainstream and not only flat out misrepresented the cause (purposefully or just because he is a flagrant moron), but beaten it into the ground in a way that completely misrepresents the cause and doesnt even acknowledge the obvious: that blacks in this country are not treated equally. That is not a question of opinion. To not agree with that means you are flat out racist yourself or just plain ignorant.

It's not just me, it's MILLIONS OF NFL FANS all over the nation tuning it out, due to politics being brought on the field where we believe it has ZERO BUSINESS. You understand that stance, right?

If basic human rights and the right not to get profiled because of your race is politics in 2017, this country is a complete embarassment to the world. Not that the previous election didnt already establish that, but this is not a controversial cause at all. You morons care more about a song and an inanimate object like a flag more than millions of people being treated like second class citizens daily. you are pathetic.

So sorry that it makes you uncomfortable that athletes are using their platform to elevate millions of human lives daily rights, but suck it up or leave. The NFL will be fine. Human lives and the way millions of americans are treated are more important than your fake care about the national anthem and flag.

Question for those protesting the protest: Do you stand up when you watch the national anthem on TV every single time? Have you never been on your phone the second you hear the national anthem played? Have you ever videotaped the national anthem if you ever went to a sporting event? Have you ever been in the bathroom or getting concessions while the national anthem is being played? why is that not considered disrespectful when you are doing it with no overall human rights cause being forwarded yet you are now faking as if youre so offended that athletes are using the platform to advance BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS. this is a country that has an enormous race problem that millions upon millions of americans just dont want to realize.

good talk. Continue to care more about football and not being so much as forced for 30 seconds to think that there are millions of americans daily living a life that is absolutely ridiculous given that this is 2017. No one gives a **** if you cant be inconvenienced to think about basic human rights for 2 minutes on your precious football sunday. You know what millions of americans are worried about on their sunday? Not being unjustifiably profiled or shot. so sorry to inconvenience your sunday to think about others for 5 minutes though.

I do understand that stance but If you TRULY believe that politics has ZERO BUSINESS in sports than you would support them not playing the national anthem before sporting events entirely than, right? No business in Baseball, Basketball, Gymnastics or the Olympics. No God Bless America at the 7th inning stretch. The President had no business commenting on it, cuz he is a politician and is doing so for his own political agenda, No Military color guards either. That would be ZERO BUSINESS. Politics uses sports WAY more than the athletes use the platform for politics. WAY more.

How does kneeling solve basic human rights? How does it stop police brutality? How does it promote racial equality. What is the end game? What does "victory" look like? Its all very abstract in nature and not really tangible IMO.

I read the article and the article cited said that before Kap that they weren't always standing or were kneeling and stretching. Hence my post that said they weren't at that time making it a political point about how this country sucks. That was Kap's motivation, to not stand because of the country wasn't "fair" and that he hated the police. Hence the Pig socks. And the Castro shirt. So everyone else coming to his defense and acting the same believe the same things as they invoke his name.

And them kneeling doesn't change any of what you posted. Nobody is really talking about the next step or how this translates to fixing anything. So many just "feel" good because they did "something" even if its useless and doesn't change anything.

It raises awareness. But when you have a racist president who tries to use the topic as a deflection and then labels it as a "national anthem protest," which it isnt even close to being, it deflects from the true cause. The players have been as clear as humanly possible what the cause is about, the fact that you dont understand that is a you problem, not a problem for the protesters.

And saying the "country sucks" is what you are saying, it has nothing to do with what their actual protest is about. One can realize that we have a great and free country while also saying that we incredibly far away from equality.

Awareness is pretty damn huge in fixing the situation. And Kap has both kneeled and invested over 1 million and a large amount of time to fixing it. Your ignorance to others doing more than just kneeling doesnt equal a lack of doing more than just kneeling.

I know he started doing that (after he got so much flack for doing nothing to that point) but how is kneeling solving any of this? Is anyone even talking about what to do next? Not really. They're hung up on their entrenched positions.

Awareness is a lot more important than you think it is. This thread is exhibit one on that. Not to mention most of the people doing the kneeling are doing a hell of a lot more than just kneeling and then going out and playing football.

Who's arguing about all that? Not me. I'm saying that NONE of that is talked about OR achieved through the men children kneeling. You may think the flag and a song are irrelevant but so many more do not and they don't appreciate the act and are offended by it. But who cares if their offended as long as they get THEIR message across. It's only THEIR message and beliefs that are important. Maybe that's why so many are offended. Maybe not. Maybe its their buddies who they watched die for that flag. Maybe not. But its just a piece of cloth....to you. And it appears that's all that matters.

That's why only like 9 players prior to the president saying something were actually kneeling. All of a sudden its in vogue. It's more about a stance against him then a stance for something it would appear from their actions.

It is talked about if you decide to talk about it. They have made abundantly clear that they are not protesting the national anthem or the greatness of this country itself. And the fact that some people are offended by men kneeling for basic human rights because they are doing it during a song while a piece of cloth is present and arent offended by the fact that in 2017 millions upon millions of americans are oppressed and are treated as second class citizens is incredibly sad.

Im not anti america, anti american flag, or anti national anthem, but to be more concerned about kneeling while these inantimate objects are present rather than the millions of human lives that are being oppressed on a daily basis is flat out pathetic.

ya, more people were protesting after a blatantly racist president decided to attack the free speech rights during a non violent protest of african american athletes with a platform. does it surprise you that more people would act out after our racist moronic president attacks them to distract from his lack of political progress? And if you think only 9 people were kneeling you simply were ignoring what you were watching.
