I said in another thread within a few games or by mid-season the NFL will no longer kneel during the National Anthem. I was right, yet again:

NFL Searching For Crisis Communications Assistant After Trump Savages League

The National Football League (NFL) is searching for a crisis communications assistant just one day after President Donald Trump’s criticized the league, according to a job posting.

The NFL is hiring a senior communications strategist for its New York City location, a job posted Monday shows. The position requirements include providing crisis communications counsel to leagues executives. The posting comes as Trump continually blasts the NFL and many of its players who have been protesting the national anthem.

“They will work closely with communications department leadership to create messaging to reflect the league’s wide variety of priorities and expedite organizational decision-making,” the job listing reads.

Ratings for the NFL’s Sunday Night Football dropped after Trump’s initial criticism, making the need for a crisis communication assistant timely. Many NFL players are kneeling or staying in their locker rooms in protest during the national anthem, following Trump’s statement that players who do so should be fired. You're funny. I do like you @Dol-Fan Dupree . Always have. Disagree with you a lot, but you are a Miami Dolphins brother, just like all of us are.

However, the NFL is RIGHT NOW, in the process of hiring a CRISIS COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT

You're smart. You know what's happening. You want to deny it. There will be no kneeling for the National Anthem within 3 weeks, across the board. You know I am right.

They never had to deal with a President who would mention them.

Also, the NFL would have to make some concessions to the NFLPA to stop kneeling. The only thing the NFL can do is keep the NFL players in the locker rooms. Which could happen.

Ahh yes, it's Trump's fault for saying what millions of American's were already thinking. You really don't get it bro.

it is Trump's fault for hiring a crises communicator.

If Trump said nothing there would be no hire.

I don't believe this is true. Players are consistently told that they can't "express" themselves and even fined for it. Brandon Marshall wearing green cleats. Cowboys wearing something to commemorate the shooting of 7 (was it 7?) Dallas police officers. Etc Etc..

The facts are, the players have NO Constitutional rights to kneel for the anthem. At least not while they are at work.

Look it up. The NFL and the NFLPA have mentioned it over and over again.

You do not lose your constitutional rights at work. They are not in school.

The First Amendment restricts only the government from taking away "the freedom of speech." Private employers can do as they please. Kneeling during the National Anthem can never be legally prohibited by the government, but can always be prohibited by private employers.

Technically private employers cannot do as they please. They still have regulations.

The problem with this discussion is that people just talk out of their butts without backing anything up. The NFL and the NFLPA both have said that the NFL owners have to negotiate punishing players for kneeling during the anthem. I assume that both the NFL and the NFLPA representatives know what they are talking about.

I am not forming my opinion of what I want to believe.

Yes, the NFL and NFLPA have to decide. The Constitution has no say it what they decide. There are VERY few things, such as discrimination in the work place, that the Government can get involved in. Also, Government employees are different too, but they aren't technically "private" employees.

Can you force your employees to say loyalty pledges to the government?

There is a difference between, "not being allowed to protest at work" and "being forced to stand for the national anthem".

I do not think that is such a clear area.

An employer can tell an employee not to kneel for the anthem.

It's because the entire "kneeling" thing is stupid. Police culture change won't happen because someone knelt for the anthem.
