Ive been a fan long enough to know what the issue is. Team has not had a qb head coach combo that is dynamic in over 25 years. Gase is a glorified OC
I view the HC as the single most influential position on any team, and I won't shy away from calling one out. I'm not ready to go there for Gase though, not yet. Last season was under him too and we all were surprised. The QB change is the most obvious difference. First thought is that maybe we're seeing where Tannehill's mobility was a huge bonus for this team, the crap on-line and even Gase's play calling. Or Cutler is just crap.
1-4 last 5 games. Offense has shown nothing. NE, Pitt, NYJ and Saints. Should be 0-5. Where is the improvement in year 2?
His play calling certainly sucks. I say let christensen call the plays from the booth he cant do any worse. If Gase calls another freaking bubble screen I swear I am going to smash my TV with something. He has called it 20,000 times since he has been here and it has been a complete failure and waste of a play 19,999 of those times.
Hate to say it but pretty much ALL signs are pointing in that direction.... Three games into the season would love to see some level of improvement. Actually seeing more a level of a lack of improvement and If I'm not mistaken that is not the signs one hopes to see in your HC...Hey we're back into the race to being mediocre again.... Fresh Garbage
The game started at 3:30 in the morning here in Hawaii, so I recorded it and figured I would get up and watch it. Fortunately I checked out this forum before sitting down to watch the game a few minutes ago. So instead of wasting my time watching what was obviously another terrible game by the Dolphins, I will just delete the recording and go out and play golf instead. I thought before the season that the Dolphins would probably go 6-10 because of the schedule they have this season and that was before Tannehill went down for the season. Now a 3-13 record or worse will not surprise me in the least. Oh well, it's a beautiful day here in Maui and several hours on the golf course will certainly be better than sitting around watching what was obviously another stinker of a game by the Dolphins again.
I think at this point one has to wonder whether training camp is being managed in such a way that the team's offense ends up prepared to play the regular season. This is year two that the offense has started the year looking very inept.
I remember similar sentiments about Gase last year when the team started 1-4. Assuming an NFL team's current trajectory will continue indefinitely is a trap all fans and even most of the media fall into. Adam Gase's team has faced a ton of adversity thus far losing their starting QB and the havoc Irma wreaked on the schedule. We will find out a lot about Adam Gase as a head coach this year, good or bad but fans should cool it with the knee jerk reactions. All that said, these last 2 games are about as bad as a 2 game stretch as I can remember. Would probably have to go back to 2007. I'll say it again - Forget about politics and protests. Games like this are why NFL ratings are down. The penalties, the commercials, the lack of scoring. Disgusting. There are better ways to spend a Sunday and fans are catching on.
Yeah, really hard to determine how much is Gase's fault. Although, I have a hard time not laying the oline squarely on him. He's the head coach. I can't imagine if he'd been pushing hard to very starting quality oline personnel that they would have ignored him. We've been complaining for like 5+ years that we need at least an average oline. It all starts up front, and with crap on the oline, the entire offense is hampered right from the snap.
I lasted till the start of 4th quarter then left the stadium. absolutley agree that Gase is the problem. Vanilla offence all game and so predictable that I was calling plays before they ran, no wonder the saint knew what we we were doing. Zilch points first half again and the 1st ever shut out at Wembley in 10 years worth of games... Before game, during game and now after I'm surrounded by dolphin fans, from us, uk and Europe. This team don't deserve the fanbase.
Difference between this year and last year is a 34 year old washed up quarterback who can't play anymore. This season is going to be a nightmare.
I hear you. Really hard to be a dolfan. Gase really is terrible at play calling. He has no idea what a good run pass mix is. He runs it when everybody knows he is going to run and passes when everybody knows he is going to pass. Too many bubble screens and rinky dink plays to the flats. Never attacks the middle of the field and only had two deep pass attempts in the last two games combined. And both those attempts were pretty straight up predictable go routes to parker. No creativity, no innovation, no aggressiveness and proactiveness. Just stupid bland playcalling all game long.
dumbest thread i have ever seen, yes gase is overthingking it, but our oline is trash, our top talent receivers are playing mediocre at best. starting TE is a dumpster fire. gase force feeding minutes to vet that dont deserve them is part of the problem there seems to be no attention to detail, maybe to many distractions right now, who knows. cutler sucks *** so far. give me matt.
As soon as JJ predicted a Dolphins win in the pre game show I knew we were done. Let's just hang on to the slim hope that this is at least partially related to the upheaval caused by the hurricane. I'm really trying here guys, but aside from my self-imposed moratorium on spending any more money on this franchise a few years ago, I may have to make a similar policy on wasting my time watching them, until I hear there is a product worthy of my time. Glad I got out for a nice bike ride today.
The Crime: A Team That Does Not Score Points The Main Suspects: Adam Gase, Jay Cutler, The Offensive Line, Julius Thomas, Jarvis Landry The Lead Detective on the Case: Adam Gase The problem is, the lead detective may also be the main culprit.
I've been asking where the slants and crossing patterns are??? I've been told by some that we thow too many, but somehow I don't see them when I watch the games.
When you score only 6 garbage time points in a loss to the Jets, then publicly say changes could come this week, but you make no significant changes then: 1) you get another crap performance 2) you lose credibility, because your actions did not match your words
I am very happy for the rams and texans. Did they both trade up? Nonetheless, they invested in a qb, and those lines struggled in the past two. It is the god damn qb. Always has been
This is exactly why I try not to log into the forums on Sunday anymore. Folks forget our situation, all the travel, new QB, Timmons distractions, etc and automatically jump to, "This person sucks". That type of negativity is EXACTLY why we lost the last two and does absolutely nothing for our community here either. Going into this game, you HAD TO see it coming. We played like crap last week against a bad team and we had about a day and a half to fix things thanks to an overseas game. It would have been a miracle if we won this week....just like it will be a miracle if we turn things around before next Sunday. Our team desperately needs time to fix the little stuff and we simply haven't had it.
Gase should bench himself next game if someone should be held accountable.. Its painful to watch teams like the Rams and Jaguars make strides this year and every year it seams we regress. I say let Moore play next game and let someone else call the offensive plays from the booth. And for the love of God no more screens.
^^ This. For the life of me I don't see why the Dolphins can't get an average o-line. Yes, Gase is responsible, but there are other hands in the o-line garbage can. Gase, at least from the initial looks, seems to be running a very watered down, slow moving, and easily figured out offense. The o-line can't pass or run block. Not one WR can get any separation whatsoever. Thomas needs to be cut. Cutler needs to play better. Ajayi is the only player on offense trying. The defense isn't special, but if the offense played average they mighty be 3-0 right now. I'm so sick of this team.
