It doesnt look like it would take a draft pick to break him free....as long as it is after the draft.

I wouldn't say Jones is alright with losing Ireland, just that he's not worried about it happening yet.

Jones clearly wants to keep Ireland. There's a reason he was blubbering and blustering a week ago.

I agree. It's not that Jones doesn't mind losing him, Jones just knows there's nothing he can do if Parcells offers Ireland the GM job with full control.

Gonna be pretty funny to watch the cowboys fall after this season without Parcells, Ireland, Sparano, and Garrett. I mean, Wade Phillips is the one whose gonna be sweating bullets when this is all over.

I doubt we scoop both Sparano AND Garrett. One or the other. Or neither. But not both.

Yes, he is OK with Ireland leaving if he gets a job promotion. He is going to fight Miami saying that being the GM here is not really a promotion.

i honestly dont think the cowboys would fall if they lost Garrett. You seriously cant go wrong with the ppl he has on the offensive side. I still think Jason needs to run the ball more and move TO around to cause mis-matches. Sadly, Cam never did stuff like that. As ppl have stated, no creativity on Cam's part. But this isnt about Cam, back to what i was saying. I believe "The Boys" will be ok if Garrett left but I doubt JJones would let him go. Jones will probably just can WP and promote Garrett. thats when you see how good Garrett is or isnt as a leader.

if ireland and sparano goes...expect Garret to be pushed into the head coaching possition because Phillips will be way over his head

I didnt say that Jones was happy about it .Rather that it seems he wont make too many waves about it.

If Ireland really wants to accept a job offered by Parcells would Jones really force him to stay against his will. Not likely .

Jones is a wheeler dealer that LOVES to be on camera.

What he tells the media and what he is actually doing behind the scenes are probably not the going to be the same.

I think it is a minor mniracle that he and Parcells managed to last this long. Wasn't it Parcells who wanted to start Romo earleir, and Jones was constantly in the media saying that he wanted to keep a veteran - (Bledsoe) as the QB?

He didn't have Romo play all of the pre-season games for nothing...

Phillips is in over his head and your solution is to throw someone with much less experience into the job? That doesn't make much sense to me.

Okay, so Ireland can't be had until after the draft? If Mueller really is let go on Monday, who would take his job through the draft? Would they hire somebody and then demote or fire them when Ireland is available?

I don't think that is true, I think it is more of Jerry Jones saying he has no problem with him getting a promotion as long as it is after the draft if he does try to leave before the draft then I see Jerry Jones making a big deal about it.

It seems like Parcells is already planning for the draft by the article I read in the PBP. No mention of Mueller whats so ever. That sounds rather ominus for Mueller.
