The other part of the Beck story is that John Clayton says the Phins have only shopped Beck to this point, not McCown.
Well, certainly a team would take more stock in a Beck than a McCown...at least with Beck there are things we don't know yet...
The quote about our rookies brings a massive smile to my face. I love the fact that this will be the first Dolphins team in recent memory that will be big and physical. No more are the days of getting pushed around on the road, especially late in the season against division rivals.
ehhhh, all past draft picks are spilt milk. once used, if you can turn them into future value you go for it. it has little to nothing to do with past draft selection.
The Dolphins are reportedly seeking a fourth round pick for QB John Beck. FYI Guys, Don't think we will get that much. John Beck-QB- Dolphins Aug. 20 - 11:21 am et The Dolphins are reportedly seeking a fourth round pick for QB John Beck. They might get a conditional pick or a late rounder, but it's hard to believe any team would be willing to give up a fourth for Beck. For perspective, the Browns received a sixth-rounder from the Seahawks for Charlie Frye last September. Love to hear about our rooks. Would love to hear what Jack del rio said to his team after the game, maybe something like...Remember guys when we use to be that hungry in a preseason game, we need to find that again, we have'nt accomplished anything.. I love our regime, i love our new identity and The tuna was exactly what this team and town needed.
I want Beck to succeed, but it is apparent it won't be here (it's been apparent). I'd personally rather have him traded to another team where he might still have a shot, than languish on the bench.
yeah i'm with you on that... and i'd still rather keep beck than mccown too... especially given how neither has any trade value.
on the plus side, even if we DO trade Beck and only get a 6th round pick for him (2 things i'd rather not have happen) we may be able to be a bit more confident our FO will actually do something productive with that pick. (See: Thomas, Donald)
Languish is right, did you see his expression on the sidelines last week? Personally I'd much rather have the draft pick. Parcells & Ireland did an impressive job with this year's draft. One more draft like that and we will be in business again...
It's a win win. Its Pennington to Henne. Period. I might be Henne sooner than we think. Might as well get something out of Beck, and let Beck get another shot on another team.
Williams, who ran for 1,853 yards in 2002, asserted this is ''definitely'' the best offensive line he has run behind with the Dolphins. ''And the intangible is Tony Sparano,'' he said of the former Cowboys offensive line coach.
Nice, it sure is nice to hear other teams speaking highly of our OL and DL. Its hard not to start to get a bit excited about the season when you hear other teams saying things like that. However, we all know that. Our OL is solid, they really showed that last week against Jacksonville, and Merling and Langford are only going to get better as this thing drags on.. This rebuilding project sure has come a long way, in a short period of time.
