in all seriousness, when i saw it live, i was thinking to myself " Please don't slam him, please don't slam him, please don't slam him..."
no but a lot of people here think you are him because only someone that sniffs coke would post what you do
Did anyone else notice what Reshad Jones was saying when he jumped up on that bench or box or whatever he was standing on after the INT? "This is my town!"
Reviewing pundit takes on MIA vs. ATL and it's ALL about how bad ATL are. 1. No MIA interest or thought. At all. We've not been a good team. Fair enough. But there's not even a passing glance at them. 2. The win against ATL, maybe over-valued? ATL not really a good team? 3. If 2, then maybe a win against a struggling good team is perfect timing for this MIA team coming together and figuring out this season?
Impossible to tell at this point. It usually takes until the 2/3 mark to really distinguish which teams are for real and who's not (the Browns and 49ers obviously are not this year). There's so many 2-3 teams and 3-2 teams etc. etc.
Here's my logic- Win the game. **** the pundits. All 32 teams are good but half of em are guaranteed to lose every single week. What the pundits think have no bearing on that fact. So **** em- they're just fans like us that happen to have other fans paying attention.
Generally true, but there's one trend this year we haven't seen in a long time that changes the narrative a bit IMO: a changing of the guard at QB. Aside from Brady, Brees, Rodgers and a surprising Alex Smith (an anomalous year for him), look at who the top rated QB's are by passer rating: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2017/passing.htm All new guys or at worst guys drafted from 2012: Kirk Cousins, Deshaun Watson, Carson Wentz, Derek Carr, Jared Goff, Dak Prescott, Case Keenum, Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson. A lot of previously established guys are underperforming: Rivers, Ryan, Roethlisberger, Flacco and even Cutler (I guess Stafford and Newton are still the same). I'm sure there will still be some shuffling of these positions as the season goes on, but this year looks like a demarcation point between the last generation and the new. And that might help predict how things will shake up.. we'll see. In any case, I sure hope Tannehill gets at minimum in that mid-90's average PR range once he gets back. Otherwise that's a lot of QB's we missed on.
Interesting point, thanks for sharing! Curious to see whether the vets pick it up vs. the young guys plateauing or bottoming out.
Now that a couple of days have passed, MY thoughts on the Miami v Atlanta game can be summed up in 3 words...Never Give Up!!! Remember recent years past? Miami would go into the half, sometimes with a lead, other times the score close and apparently the team that went into the locker room at the half never came back out? We weren't able to find the endzone with map, Google Earth or a GPS and we ended up LOSING games. We didn't play 60 full minutes of football. Now the first half of Sunday's game was quite ugly and when I was finally able to turn the game on at Mom's for the start of the 2nd half and saw we were down 17-0, I saw a Greek tragedy in the making. Remembering how I had predicted the defense would keep the first half relatively honest with a 10-0 or 13-0 score at the half, when I saw 17-0, I truly saw BLOWOUT coming. Little did I realize the blowout was coming from Miami. Miami's determination and Gase's instilling a never give up attitude adjustment at the half resulted in 20 unanswered points by the offense and the defense shutting out the always potentially explosive Atlanta offense. Hopefully the grit Miami displayed during the 2nd half in the Atlanta will carry over into next week and this is the start of 2017's 6 game winning streak and in 5 weeks, our beloved Dolphins will be sitting at 8-2. Fins up baby!
