Can we just pin a thread in tribute to Wake where we can just amass posts about his awesome contribution to this team? Age. Injury. Whatever. He's still wreaking havoc!
Very good idea...we should have a thread like that for all our superstars! Of course, you're the one to make them as the GIF/Twitter master.
With the way our defensive line is playing i think 95 is a real possibility to end the year for wake. I wouldnt mind if all 10 come against Brady, and preferrably in a single game.
Kurt Warner shows late starts won't automatically remove you. Stats help build that case, as does SB wins - gotta look for multiple sustained and consistent years of dominating a position and considered a top player at it. It's going to be position and SB win that separates a person like Warner from what Wake's case will be.
Until Wake starts to actually slow down, I see no reason to even consider trading him or not resigning him. Miami have gotten a great bang for their buck. O. Venron almost makes double what Wake makes.
I liked the sack where nobody blocked him. Great strategy there. Took him like a half second to be on Matt Ryan. Could more teams try that new innovative strategy for dealing with one of the great all-time QB hunters please?
The man is a BEAST!!!! not taking ANYTHING away from Jason Taylor, but Cameron Wake makes JT look like he was going in reverse. In all my years of watching the Dolphins since '72, we've NEVER had a defensive end like Wake, so I'll echo what's already been said... RELEASE THE KRACKEN!!!!!!
He should change his name to Leroy Brown. BADDEST man in the WHOLE DAMN TOWN!!! Meaner than a junkyard DOG!!!
He's a beast. Can't believe he hasn't started falling off at this point given his age, but wow, just an impressive player.
Why would you say such a thing? He is going to play forevever! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Just kidding. I agree. I am going to be sad when he hangs up his shoulder pads. Wake is my favorite Dolphin Defensive player of all time. Just imagine how many sacks he would get if they actually called holding against him on a consistent basis.
The Miami Dolphins got a big game from edge defender Cameron Wake in their come from behind Week 7 win over the Jets. His game grade of 80.3 was his third consecutive game with a grade above 80.0. Wake was incredibly efficient rushing the passer in this game, racking up seven total pressures on 18 pass-rush snaps, with three of them being sacks. His pass-rush productivity of 33.3 was the highest among edge defenders this week. Looking at the season as a whole, Wake is defying age with his performance, currently grading as the 11th best edge defender in football with a grade of 86.8. He has arguably been the most productive edge defender league wide this season and has the highest pass-rush productivity among edge defenders at 17.1. He’s racked up 30 total pressures, with 13 being sacks or hits, on 142 pass-rush snaps. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-edge-defender-cameron-wake-had-an-impact-in-week-7
In the vein of "Chuck Norrisisms": When QB's ask Cam Wake what time it is he answers "1.5 seconds to". When they ask, "1.5 seconds to what?" he sacks them.
I'll bet 100 bucks he beats that streak this season. The man is on fire. Age can be managed, the body is like a machine as long as you keep it well maintained it can perform like new for a long time. Some guys just don't take care of themselves like wake does.
There's alot of folks here who need to take a good look at this. Specifically those on Sunday saying he's done, and he sucks.
For real, only an idiot who knows nothing about football would think cam wake is done. Without him we would have zero pass rush. Even with all the double teams, chip blocks, age, us losing, etc... He still goes out and plays harder and produces better than anybody.
let go of the dead weight. time for the team to elevate its play w better personnel. let's see what he does against Brady, I am guessing nothing much
