Explain to me how you guys thought that he was better than Cutler.

You guys had a whole lot of cool stats. I really can't wait to hear how he is better now...

Where were you when Cutler got shut out by the Saints? Or how about his one garbage time TD at the end of the Jets game where we lost 20-6?

Matt Moore sucked tonight, but let's not pretend Cutler was the difference

I'm not a Matt Moore... whatever term you want to use by any means... I mean... he's a back up QB for a reason.

However, I'll say this... it was a pretty bad spot for him. Thrust into the starter role on a short week Thursday game, with a brutal OL that's actually worse than last years.

That being said too... he was bad. He missed some easy open throws.

There's really no way anyone can defend the guy aside from being pushed into the role on a short week, with a pathetic OL, but even that doesn't excuse him for the late INT, the inaccurate throws, the bad decisions.

If you still blame the QB play of this team for our woes for the last 5+ years, then i honestly want to watch the game your watching.

Well, he's 8-5 over the last 13 games. He's had 1 bad game in the last two years. Explain to us how one game against a team that always crushes us proves the nonsense you're trying to sell?

Oh wait, I get it....Tannehill or Cutler or Pennington or Marino or Henne or whatever Dolphins QB you're thinking of never, ever had a bad game. That must be the logic here. Maybe you're thinking of the great Cleo Lemon.

Moore is not a starter. Although he did throw two pick-6's, so TDs to the other team? Cutler may not be amazing but I'd still trust him more.

I don't dislike Moore, he's a good backup. Yet it made me laugh that people were chanting his name, cheering when Cutler got hurt, etc. If Moore is your starter from October-December, you are not making the playoffs. And its not only 1 bad game. Its 3 in a row, all against actual playoff contenders (Patriots, Steelers, Ravens). People actually think Moore is a playoff caliber QB?

We all know this team has big problems elsewhere though, namely a terrible OL.

We all know MM had a terrible game.

I knew that was a strong possibility, but I was surprised at how weak his arm looked and at some of the easy throws he missed w happy feet.

Matt Moore is not the problem, RIGHT NOW, as the offense as a whole is a complete trainwreck. However, Moore doesn't bring anything to the table to mitigate the other problems.

I'm sick and tired of watching teams cram the box against us, and not be able to have receivers get open against single coverage. It's absolutely ridiculous.

We're still going to struggle / suck with either QB. And this is more than just a QB issue although not having a franchise QB makes the other issues more apparent.

I thought the play calling was crap. When we did do something good and start to feel some MoJo Gase would call a bubble screen that has not worked all year, or a pitch 4 yards behind the line type of play.

Why was Moore wearing a wrist band? He should know the plays by now. Did they put new crap in? It looked like the WR's were running wrong routes at time.

Yup, play calling is pure crap. Bubble screen loss 4 yards, shotgun draw to setup 3rd an long. Every defense knows what Gase is going to call before Gase calls it. He is clearly no play calling guru.

The O line is and has been the problem for to many years.
One day they will fix it but not this week.

Tannehill is really seeming to be a calming influence on the offense that we really miss.

But yes, I think it is his outside the pocket type mobility we really miss because you are right, the line is way worse than last year.

This is not a "Matt Moore" issue. This OL is absolutely horrible!! There were purple shirts in the backfield all night. Matt is still the man. (at least over Cutler).

I wouldn't go as far as "the man" but I agree with you. the line did absolutely nothing to help him.

    So CAL
I sat there over and over and felt that's gase is not good at calling plays, his gameplan was horrible his play calling is horrible. I noticed cutler started using a wristband about 2 games ago as well. Maybe gase thinks if he designed a bubble screen differently it would work. Im not saying gase sucks as a HC but I do know he needs to give up the play calling.

Cutler Rt or Moore had no shot last night with those play calls im just saying. The offense looked off so much I watched landry be confused so many times with 9 guys inside 5 yards from LOS and we didn't score lol I looked hoping the box score changed this morning and I was wrong the whole time and im still amazed we scored 0 points again.

Don't really know if Matt is much of an actual upgrade and don't really care. Realize that the problem startes here:

    Laremy Tunsil........so far a disappointment
Anthony Steen .....possible backup at best
Mike Pouncey..... inconsistent and not like of old
    Jermon Bushrod...solid backup maybe
    Ja’Wuan James..... ?????
    Jesse Davis...who cares
    Eric Smith.....who
Isaac Asiata....can't even get on the field with this line....wow
    Jake Brendel...who
    Ted Larsen (IR)..

    crap crap crap...........

Until this gets put at the top of the list (like everyone is zeroed in on the QB) we will experience the same frustration we've experienced for the fast 10 years......When this actually gets upgraded than we can complain about the need for a new QB...unless Tannehill has finally developed ( personally I doubt but got to let that play out nexrt year)...

Aside from the horrendous play calling and overall terrible offensive line, play calling, everything.... Matt looked different right when he took the field last night. He was waaay overthinking this game, which made him too antsy. Didn't look like his normal comfortable confident self. So I don't think that was the real Matt Moore we were watching by any stretch. I did like how he kept trying to reboot himself each time they got the ball back. But the same uneasiness and bad play calling crushed any hope quite handily. But he doesn't get a pass. It was him that allowed it to get in his head and effect his game. His footwork and accuracy was nowhere close to what we know about him. But there was a hell of a lot more killing the Dolphins last night than just Matt having an off night.

He for sure doesn't get pass. The game was too big for him last night and you could see it in his demeanor. The energy was gone ...... he was overwhelmed.

But over-reactions are to be expected in a loss like this. It's no different than the element of overreaction there was to the Jets win or the Falcons one for that matter. I'm trying to think that last time Moore faced a pass rush like that in any of his starts as a Miami Dolphin. You've got the Steeler game in the playoffs and perhaps the Eagles game last in 2011. To expect mastery of sliding protections and knowing how to combat it is a bit of a stretch.

Let's think about it this way ..... he marched into a hostile environment on a short week with the playbook drastically reduced to the point where Gase had him out there with a wristband citing brand new plays. His receivers were blanketed and Landry is out there running go routes #Dafuq. There was no running game. Is the expectation there that Matt friggin Moore was going to overcome all of that?

Call me crazy but if my back up QB comes in for his first start of the year you don't want to be down double digits immediately nor do you want to force the game into his hands so early on. You want to build his rhythm up and whatever it takes to add a little bit more protection up front - be it jumbo lines or double tight end sets. Gase refused and I can't think of a solid reason why.
