Lazor was never going to be as good as Gase. Gase is the one who Peyton Manning calls one of the best football minds he’s ever worked with. Gase is the one who had success in Detroit, Chicago, Denver and Miami. He’s got a track record that’s proven as OC and now HC.

You say he’s scapegoating Ajayi but how is it scapegoating when the guy can’t learn an offense, has pouted openly to coaches about not getting enough carries, even when Stills scored the GW TD vs the jets he was complaining. Based on what I’ve read his attitude is back to being as bad as what caused Gase to leave him home before Seattle game.

Remember when Lamar Miller left and people were panicking because all we had was old man Foster last year? That worked itself out, this will too. Even if we are the worst 4-3 team in history (which we are with our -60 point differential) we are still 4-3. Time to get rid of the selfish and the stupid and play ball.

Even if I bought that he’s cancerous (we’ll see if reports of that continue in Philly), he was our best offensive player. And just because Ajayi was better, doesn’t mean the next man up strategy will always work.

Agree that the next man up strategy won’t always work but you have to build that environment for it to have a fighting chance. Doug Peterson has a heck of an attitude to deal with right now as Ajayi *****ed and moaned until he got to determine his outside zone run plays and Pederson is a heck of a good coach. For one being from the Andy Reid coaching tree I don’t doubt for a minute that Ajayi will have some success. They also have a better OL then we do. But that hefty 3.4 YPC is something we will survive without. Drake and Williams can do that no problem.

If the cancerous tag sticks, I’ll admit it’s true. As for now, I believe Gase saw the name “Arian Foster,” handed him the job, and Ajayi was pissed. I also believe Gase has always been a pass-happy QB guy and had no intention of feeding his RBs until Ajayi forced his hand.

Gase is a pass happy guy...I agree there. But everyone knew Foster didn’t have much left aside from pass catching and blitz pick up. Ajayi struggled then to pick up the offense and nothing that happens from this point changes that. If it’s not an outside zone run, Ajayi can’t execute it seems and teams are stacking their defenses to defend that.

Just because it may not stick in Philly, doesn't mean it wasn't happening here though. How many times have we seen instances of players causing problems in one locker room, and being fine in the next after being moved? I think it most of the cases that player ends up acting up again. Maybe not the best example because he hasnt changed teams, but take a look at Dez Bryant. The guy has been a major problem at times in Dallas. Now, they obviously haven't moved him, so you ask yourself why? It's simple. He produces week in, week out, and he's doing what they ask of him, even if he's complaining he's not getting the ball. Now, take a look at Ajayi. He's been a problem. He's become a problem again. The production right now, just isn't there (and yes, it's not from anyone on offense really), and he's apparently not doing what they ask of him, and there's likely other negative things taking place for it to get to this point. Foster was a name they likely turned to when they saw Jay's attitude and work ethic in camp last year, that's what lead to him being at home. Jays own attitude. Remember, this team had turned to another RB (CJ Anderson was signed to an offer sheet) even before Foster was considered. So, they've had some issues in trusting Ajayi all along, and it appears he didn't do enough to continuously keep that trust.

He very well could clean up his act in Philly. He's going to a team that you could probably consider as... built, and contending. That may be enough to change his attitude right there. Guys like that though, if that attitude gets fixed simply because they're winning and he's having personal success... it's only temporary IMO. He's good when things are going good for him but he becomes a pain though once things get bad, and once they do things go south for him. To me, that's the pattern I see with Jay in his first year and a half.

It's hard to win with guys who won't do it the right way, and guys who aren't happy when the team, and those around him have success, and he struggles. Sure, it's a "side effect" of competition, and you'd want him to be upset with poor personal performance, but not when and if it's becoming detrimental to the team.

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...fls-most-least-balanced-offensive-playcallers

This article breaks down playcalling according to teams that are most pass or ground oriented or balanced. It was last updated June 21st.

1st and 10 specifically, we’re not listed at all. 2nd and 10 specifically, we’re the third most ground oriented. That’s a bad position to put your RB in. 3rd and 1 specifically, we’re the second most pass happy team in the league. What kind of RB wants to be put in predictable situations on 2nd and 10 but not be given the ball on 3rd and 1?

That isn’t at all what that article proves. All the article proves is that we are difficult to predict. And all running on 2nd and 10 does is Place the qb in a difficult position because you’re likely to have 3rd and 6 or longer.

Additionally, you’re defending a guy who got 23 carries during the jets game (out of 25 run plays) and couldn’t even clap for his teammate because he was too busy complaining he didn’t get the ball enough. Never mind the fact his output sucked tat game, he couldn’t even be happy for a teammate making a huge catch in a big comeback vs a division rival. Think about how selfish that sounds. That’s a guy you want?

Hey, I hear ya. It might be true that he’s fairweather, but I believe Gase is too. Football teams always have divas and they’re usually among the best players on the team. Suh, anybody? Are we gonna dump him too?

Gase is supposed to deal with those guys, but it seems to me that he’s scapegoating Ajayi because this team is so dependent on him and they have conflicting personalities. Also, I don’t think us trying to sign C.J. Anderson signifies Gase had trust issues with Ajayi. I think it means he saw an established guy and wanted him over our fifth rounder rookie.

I just posted an article about Gase’s unpredictable, frustrating playcalling. If you Google it, you can find a quote of his wife saying something along the lines of “You couldn’t help yourself, you just had to pass on 3rd and 1.” I mean, come on.

Gase adapts to his team when it’s obvious he should, but he has a history of being a pass happy QB guy.

He is unpredictable most of the time, except when he shouldn’t be in the most crucial of circumstances. He’s predictably very pass happy on 3rd and 1. Who the hell in their right mind does that with Ajayi as your RB?

If someone is insulted by anything that I have said then they need to stay in their safe space. They choose to respond, I don’t make them respond. I have been just as tactful as I have received yet I don’t see you calling out the other members. This was a BS trade and I’m not the only one calling it out.

They dont need to be insulted. Being as transparent i can no one even complained. I simply read it and found it condescending and insulting. And Im the last person who needs a safe space. What you call"Calling you out" is how your post to Brandon sounded. Not so much fun right? The problem isnt calling it out; dissent is necessary and can foster better discussion. The problem is the manner in which you did it.

EDIT: also if someone is being rude or condescending towards you we ask that you not respond but rather use the report post icon (!) In the lower part of each post. It doesnt mean we will agree but we do read through those reports and try and take each under the proper context

He worked fine in it until they ran into a well coached team the Ravens. The team (and maybe even Harbaugh I forget) did not talk highly of Tannehill before the game according the announcers. Saying Tanny doesn't move well off his first read. Eric Weddle then commented on the simplified offense. After the game the defenders talked about how easily they tricked the offense and Tanny.

So, a year later, maybe the lesser coached teams have caught up with more film. There may be some merit to the argument about Gases offense as it's ran now (not what he would run if he had his groceries)

The Ravens exposed Miami on defense and offense. They are coached really well. I wish we had Harbaugh and that offensive line. Every team that we are about to play will be watching what the Ravens did. We are Fooked!

I saw a quote from Knute Rockne that focuses on what the dolphins are going through:

"The secret is to work less as individuals and more as a team. As a coach, I play not my eleven best, but my best eleven."

I realize some of you folks may have trouble with the meaning so I will spell it out for you - His eleven best implies the eleven best individual ratings, but his best eleven refers to the most functional group of eleven players; the ones that work together the best. This may or may not include some of his eleven best players.

Gase has determined that JA is not one of his best eleven, making him expendable. I question if he is even one of our 11 best this year. We will soon find out.

While I am in the quotation mode, I have a few more that I feel are relevant:

"The only thing that counts is your dedication to the game. You run on your own fuel; it comes from within you." - Paul Brown
"Leave as little to chance as possible. Preparation is the key to success." - Paul Brown
"Football games aren't won, they're lost" - Fielding H. Yost

He's averaged 3.4 yards a carry this season. Last week, he gained 2 yards on his last 12 carries....and he ignored Gase's call and blocking assignments on his 21 yard run to start the game as well. Which is great, if he didn't average less than .2 yards ignoring Gase the rest of the game. People conveniently miss that Gase benched him late in the 2nd quarter for being a know-it-all and a hothead...it's no surprise that we moved on.

Ajayi will do better in Philly since all RB's are doing better in Philly. We simply didn't need a vocal player who refuses to do what the team asks him to do, and at the end of the day this was a smart trade. If he stayed here riding the bench for most of the season, we might be lucky to get a 7th for him.

One more thing- just because a lot of folks don't watch the blocking assignments here and see that Ajayi was refusing to follow his blocks, that doesn't mean other teams don't. It was probably the smartest possible move since the team has a lot of faith in Drake.

No, he's not an average back, when there is a hole there are few backs in the NFL that hit it with the size, power and speed he has, and even once a defender does get to him, there is a good chance he'll bust through that too.

His weakness is he's not the type of back that will make something out of nothing, he needs strong blocking to succeed. And the other weakness - or really con - is his attitude, from all account he's a selfish teammate and doesn't take direction well. But an average back he's not, he could put up mad numbers for the Eagles the rest of the season.

He’ll definitely have it easier in Philly. None of our other backs have ran for even 75 yards this year. Blount has pretty much the same amount of yards as Ajayi. Actually, all of the backs in Philly look better than ours probably due to better gameplan and line.

Two things are going to setup any of our backs for failure: our offensive line and play calling.

Offensive line: no need to explain that shlt. It is pure garbage.

Play calling: that’s all on Gasy. The guy is a glorified high school play caller.

I seem to remember last year when Ajayi was a beast, that everyone on here loved him. I don't recall anyone talking about him being a "cancer" or talking about is "horrible knees" now all of a sudden a lot of you are bashing the guy. Funny how that works. These are the same guys that are praising Gase cause he's a "genius" and love the trade but if he gets fired at the end of the year, they'll say that he's a bum. Kinda like you guys did with Philbin. Its like when you're with a chick she's the nicest/hottest girl ever then when she breaks up with you, she's a *****

Maybe because no one knew until now? And how do you not bash a guy who *****es about his carries after a win? To me that's a HUGE no-no, always should be team first, when you see a player who is self-serving and then find out that one as I mention he's bellyaching about his workload and two he's not putting in the extra work off the field, how am I suppose to get behind him?

And I was pissed when I heard the trade, my first two posts after the news was "This can't be real", so it's not like as soon as he got traded I turned on the guy, but when news start trickling out what a selfish prick he was being, I did feel better about it.

Don't think a coach on the hot seat trades one of his best players when their team is a game over .500 after 8 weeks.

I think he's very aware how fraudulent their record is and is willing to punt the rest of the season in hopes of getting better long term.

He's making a big gamble, which takes balls, but with gambles, comes risks. I don't think he's in trouble right now, but down the road if Ajayi becomes returns to 2016 form and becomes the second coming of Earl Campbell and our running games falls flat on its face, it's going to look bad for him.

I’ve been a Dolphins fan longer than most of you. There were a few years that I lost track due to the military but I remember the problem players even back to Sammy Smith. Ajayi wasn’t the issue, Gase is! Ajayi was a top 10 RB for us. Gase is down on the bottom of coaches for us. He had his one year wonder like Tony. Now we are going to see more of the ****ing same.

    Ajayi WAS the issue.

I was extremely pissed initially, then I realized the guy was averaging under 3.5 yards per carry and that our offense was constantly facing 2 and 12 or 3rd and 11.. Not sustainable.

Good ****ing riddance with his attitude. Let's not act like we lost the next Barry Sanders. We lost someone that was about to be cut last preseason and that the NFL, yes the NFL, only deemed him worthy of a 4th round pick.

So suck it up and stop acting like a *****.
