So after last Thursday nights thumping against the ravens (1.30 am ko UK), tomorrow nights prime time (1.30 am ko UK) and next weeks Monday night football (again 1.30am ko uk), it will be 3 games in a row that are difficult for me, and I presume most of our uk & Euro fin Fans, to watch live. This is a ball ache as I love Sunday 6pm ko’s as it’s a great time for football here, and obviously pay hard earned $$ to do so via gamepass.

For the ravens game i had work at 8am so staying thru wasn’t an option, instead I got up at 4am to watch the broadcast and then hit work..all day. Don’t need to tell you how long a day that was.. and I’m struggling to justify doing same again tomorrow, esp as starting the week like that will likely put me over the edge.

Just interested in how my fellow uk and Euro phins are approaching this same dilemma?

Also very interested in how my US brothers would handle the same 3 weeks with games at 1.30am? What lengths would you go to or not??

    Preach!

I hate to be a downer on the Dolphins in prime time but for selfish reasons I love those 1pm starts.

I too got up for the Ravens game and got to enjoy a day at work with too little sleep AND a crappy result for my trouble. But there's no way to call it.

Were I more disciplined, perhaps, I could avoid the result the next day and then watch the game tape-delayed, but I would struggle to avoid the scores. I'd have to avoid everything Dolphins related.

Bottom line - the only time I really want to spend a night's sleep on the Dolphins is for post-season games. But I'm a sucker for seeing the games live.

Oh and I'm one hour further removed from UK time. GMT +1. Fun fun.

I'm like you guys, I want to watch the games live. Stayed up until halfway through 3rd qtr last Thursday - about half three-ish, cos I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. Luckily I'd booked Friday off work. Tomorrow I'll probably watch until halftime and record the 2nd half, as I'm working Monday and up early. Next week, I'll work from home on Tuesday so I can stay all the way through and get up later.

Can't say I enjoy these late games, I never think that we play that well under lights. Hee hee, I remember sending Dave Wannstedt a moaning email after staying up to watch the Jets thrash us when he was in charge. I grabbed an hours kip on the sofa afterwards before going into work and I was very tired and very pissed off. No one ever replied though. Probably just thought 'whinging bloody limey...'

    :dunno:

I'm not sure what you want us to say. I mean, when we play in the UK, it's a 9am or something like that start for us here in North America. I mean, the NFL is a north american league. It's just... what you have to accept as an overseas fan unfortunately.

That being said.... with this Sundays game being a 8:20pm EST start here in the east coast of NA, the game still doesnt end until almost midnight. So, it's not that simple here either.

Pretty clear what he wants I think..."Also very interested in how my US brothers would handle the same 3 weeks with games at 1.30am? What lengths would you go to or not??"

How would you handle having to watch three weeks of games all starting at 1am or later with a work day the next day?

I hear you and I’m the same, not an option to avoid hearing the score from all media as I have too many alerts on all my devices.
    And 2-30am starts for you..urgh!

Yep can handle the tiredness the next day but if we get beat, especially a beat down like the ravens gave us, then I’m angry and tired and that’s not a good look.

You have given me a good idea though, and if we get beaten tonight then I’m gonna spend my working day tomorrow emailing Gase, Tbum, ross and the Asian sideline trainer venting my anger. Think that will be a cathartic experience and help get me thru lol

The only advantage to the later start means I can head to bed early and get a longer sleep in before waking up for the game.

I'm older now than I used to be though, so the all night thing takes more of a toll on me. It's easily my preference to get a good night's sleep, but you know, the game is on....

    Maybe I need help. :)

I feel for you. I wouldn't stay up or get up for those late games personally. The Dolphins haven't really earned that level of engagement as a fan for me. I would be content watching the highlights and reviewing the box score.

Here in Brazil the game is going to start at 11:30 pm now that the US is off daylight savings time and we are on it. Not as bad as a 1 am start over there but it'll end here almost at 3am.

I'll probably watch the first half and, depending on how the game progresses and how tired I am, see what I'll do.

The thing is that that 11:30 start time is about the time I go to bed, but how can you sleep when the game is about to start? So the game usually sucks me in and I watch it at least until the end of the first half. If the game started here at 1:30 am, I think I'd have an easier time sleeping and watching the recorded version the next day.

I'll never forget the monday night miracle. Well, who will. But for me the game started at 3 am, I think. I couldn't sleep at all before. My work started at 7:30 and the game went like forever, I barely made it in time. For many reasons I felt sick that morning.
The good thing in being overseas is that I can go to work without hearing about the result, so this time I will just watch the game pass version without any commercials. Not as good as live but I'll gladly take it.
