and its not because of the Dolphins.... anyone watching this Canes vs Irish game? When was the last time a dolphins crowd was this crazy? Turns out for this city to become a football town, the Canes have to be good first.
its been too long since the dolphins have been relevant, dolphins fans are too beat up at this point and cant inspire new ones because of the poor consistent play over the past couple decades. I do think we are in quite the conundrum as it related to the relationship from team to fanbase...theres animosity both ways..
Hell yeh..I don't care what the Fins do the rest of the year..The real deal this year in Miami is the Hurricanes!
Yah good luck the Dolphins had to deal with Hurricanes, new QB, losing their starting RB and a second year coach with a new system ....Oh wait.
Obviously you didn’t watch the game last night or you are a ND fan. Because it appeared that it is the Canes and their fans who own Hard Rock Stadium and not the Dolphins and the Dolphin fans. I attended well over a hundred Dolphin games in that stadium before moving to Hawaii and I NEVER heard the crowd as loud for an entire game as it was last night. If the Dolphins want that same type of fan support in that stadium, they need to put a championship caliber team on the field too. Right now the Canes are the team deserving support in the South Florida community and thankfully they are receiving that support.
Canes should be in the top 4. I wish I could have watched that game. As for the Dolphins, I just hope they score a TD.
Field looked excellent after last night's game. Phins could play on it today without issue. New vendor, better sod. No problem.
Your last line really should have read.... Better vendor, better sod, Papa Lawn's. I am disappoint Muck
Oh they completely own the stadium for sure. As a matter of fact I heard the Canes players told Ross to make sure the Dolphins players do their laundry and clean their lockers after the game last night.
College football is boring. Defense is nonexistent, everyone runs the same spread offense & the games are way too long.
Every time you post, your ignorance in regards to college football is more apparent. If you had watched the game last night, you might not be stating that defense is nonexistent. Especially when the Hurricanes defense completely shut down the supportly great ND offense. I happen to love the Dolphins but I was a Hurricane fan long before the Dolphins were even in existence. The Hurricanes have won five national championship since the early 1980’s, while the Dolphins last won a championship in 1974. I hope that eventually the Dolphins can get back to being a legitimate SB contender, but right now I look forward to watching the Miami Hurricanes play more than I do the Dolphins.
The Canes were my 1st team in life growing up down there and they had so many amazing years and amazing rivalries. I haven't watched college for a long time because I thought the rankings were just too corrupt- they acted like an 8-2 team was complete losers even though they had an awesome season. And they put the players under so much pressure to continually be perfect...I just started resenting it even though it's much "purer football" than the NFL. These past few weeks got me interested again though and I'm looking forward to the last few weeks of the season. The Clemson game should be a great one!
Defense was on full display last night. Fast, physical, utterly dominant. Against the consensus #1 offensive line in the country - anchored by two Top 15 picks - blocking for a Heisman candidate averaging a ridiculous 8.7 ypc. Irish got a garbage time TD but it was a suffocating performance by the home team. You've never heard our stadium louder. One of the ND seniors said it was the loudest game he's ever played in. And ND plays everybody. As an aside, the Canes own perhaps the most interesting and captivating topic in college football -- the Turnover Chain. You'd have enjoyed this game.
Genius the turnover chain Muck... Why because it’s all about recruiting...and being on the cutting edge of it..
Maybe Gase can take some notes..I like the guy i really do. He's young he just needs to find the right motivation for this team. He's got at least another year and a half..Comon You can do it!
You can't motivate professionals the same way you do with amatuers. The ones that need additional motivation at the professional level... well, you saw what happened. That should be motivation enough, do your job or you lose it. No belly rubs here.
Of course, hopefully by then we're further along and discussing how to keep the team motivated during a first round bye.
Can't remember the last game I enjoyed as much as that. Gone 4.30am by the time I got to bed but I was buzzing. Especially nice that it was the Farting Irish on the end of the drubbing too...
Ha. You have no idea what you are talking about. College football is the most exciting sport there is.
