Was watching the college football shows today. As I predicted, he believes the Univ of Mich situation is deteriorating quickly with Harbaugh and a loss next week could have Harbaugh coming back to the NFL. Let's assume this happens, are you all on board for Ross to go after him? What do you think of him as an NFL head coach?
As long as he doesn’t bring in Kaepernick, I don’t see why not. Anybody remember if he had anything to do with that amazing 49ers defense?
wasn't his relationship with him pretty much done? I don't recall. I know he made him into a SB qb. Guy went to 3 straight NFC championships and had no love from ownership. Again, what will Gase tell his bosses after the season on lesson learned and what he needs to fix the situation? He has no biz deciding on final 53
I really don’t remember. All I know is I don’t want Kaepernick and I do want whoever was instrumental to that 49ers defense lol. I don’t think it matters what Gase tells Ross. It’s Ross. He guaranteed Philbin would be back after a fluke play/win.
let's forget Kaep. Miami has RT and potentially rookie. It needs to play out. Harbaugh has a proven record.
If available, yes go for it. I wouldn't mind Kaep on a short-term deal either, he certainly can't do worse than Cutler and his mobility could be a big plus. I don't really feel that any of Cutler, Tannehill or Kaep would have a long term future here though. A drafted, top quality QB is the way to go from here. Any of the 3 QBs mentioned would basically be stop-gaps, if we even wanted to go that route. Frankly, as lauded as "sitting" is for rookies, I think the better case is just giving them a good line, good coaching and letting them play. Both Harbaugh brothers would be high on my list of potential upgrades from Gase if we want something of a known quantity, rather than a roll of the dice. That said, I have heard nothing about Harbs leaving or deteriorating. His QB situation this year is a mess with several injuries. He has struggled against elite competition (1-6 against top 10 teams) and State ... but realistically, UM knows there really aren't any better options. There is some grumpiness over a lack of instant success, but I think people didn't realize how bad the program had become. If they chase him out, it would be idiotic.
Wouldnt mind coach H. at all. Though I seriously doubt Ross fires Gase after this season regardless how we finish up because I can see Gase getting a free pass since his starting QB was out all year.
The starting qb issue becomes laughable when you see what's going on in MN. There was no plan in place incase RT was hurt. Who do you blame?
Moore has been a credible plan B ( like last year), but this year it was a different story. Who knew ? Not many teams have a second string great QB on their bench.
Fate. I mean really, few if any teams can trot out 2+ above average starting caliber QBs. I mean, even the vaunted Pats missed the playoffs with Cassel under center, and even they couldn't work the cap enough for both Tommy and Jimmy. And Jimmy isn't tested over a full season, dude could be Flynn 2.0. Look at how the Steelers do when Ben goes down. Look at the Texans under Savage, look at Green Bay under Hundley. ****'s ugly man.
gase is going no where he will get his full term of his contract. what i can see is a new defensive coordinator and and offensive assistant
I' happy with the direction this team is going considering all the injuries. Stay the course. Harbaugh's a headcase. Don' want him anywhere near this team
His name is Adam Gase. He's 14-11 as a coach. Made the playoffs in his first season. He will continue to be our head coach.
Gase doesn't make any of those decisions alone. He's not the gm. Yes, he has input, but ultimately he doesn't make those calls. Its a GMs job to pull the trigger, or in some cases, not to.
http://www.espn.com/blog/miami-dolp...ach-adam-gase-also-in-charge-of-53-man-roster so now we know the issue that is pointless to have the current structure and that Gase has no biz evaluating talent
Then it's Grier and Tannebaums job to explain/convince him the assets are more important than the player in question. Still no his decision alone.
All that except signing Kap I can agree with. I'm not against his protesting, I just think he's an idiot.
Even if he is not actively calling plays, he is still the primary man on scouting the opponent, gameplanning, coaching and implementation.
i just think the best we can hope for is ross raking away some of his responsibility. if he’s going to be the head coach he probably needs to release some other duties though i doubt he will go for that.
Teams that change their coaches every two to three seasons have a proven track record of success.... Ross won't even consider firing Gase unless we're floundering around four or five years in. Sparano was fired during his fourth season and he wasn't even Ross's guy to begin with. Philbin was also fired during his fourth season despite not having a single winning season prior to that. Gase has made the postseason and he doesn't have his QB this year. Ross would be stupid to dump him under any circumstance other than Bellichick leaving the Pats and begging Ross to hire him.
I cant believe Im saying this but Gaze needs to be fired! Im have always believe giving someone three years before moving on. What changes my mind with Gaze is the bad play calling, Dolphins had two downs to come up with a yard and couldn't mustard a yard. But what cliches it for me is he is the mastermind behind bringing Cutler to Miami. As far Ross goes, he is a horrible owner always hiring guys who cant coach as a head coach. Ever since Roby died and change of ownership this franchise has gone down hill. We need a QB,RB, and Coach next year.
Oh yea, Gase worked on that move all off-season. It finally came to fruition when Tanny's knee gave out. I love it when a plan comes together. /s
They met with Harbaugh after Sporano's 3rd year. Don't see why it can't happen again. http://www.espn.com/nfl/news/story?id=5993761
Let's see if Mich beats OSU this weekend first. There has been a deterioration in the past 2 seasons.
