Not really. Anyone that is worth a damn won't make a lateral move so maybe they can look at some college coordinators. Jed Fisch at UCLA would be a good choice. They just fired their head coach and he is the interim head coach but they just hired chip Kelly to be the coach next year so he,might be available. He's done wonders with Josh Rosen, the ucla qb.
I hear ya man. The thing with Gase that gets me the most is what we've seen alot of this year. Now, I'll preface this by saying it's hard to say this for sure, because we don't see what he does on the sidelines. However, what bothers me most is seeing him on the sidelines. He's obviously frustrated, and he should be. However, standing there, with your pissed off face, staring blankly isn't exactly a quality I want in a coach. I get it, you're pissed off... you should be. However, get in there, work with these guys on the issues. Again, maybe after they cut the camera away he goes to work, we never get to see that, but man, that reaction from him is bothering me. As for players, man, there's some good spots. I think Tank is going to get better. Godchaux has put in good work this year. Harris has a ton of potential I think, they need to bulk him up a bit more and keep bolstering his rush moves. Landry i'd keep for his heart alone. There's some others, but that's for another place I guess.
What aspect of the gameplan do you disagree with? I see a lot of good plays being called out there and a lot of miscues by the players. Tons of mental errors and penalties. Tons of bad calls by the refs. Moore’s accuracy has been horrible today. Receivers aren’t beating their man. How much of that is in Gase? All of it? But you’re a football expert so I’m sure you’ll fill me in as to how Gase messed up the gameplan.
Look what Harbaugh did with San Francisco. A college coach that got them to a super bowl. I didnt think it matters which level they coach on, as long as they are a quality coach
let take the defense. They are not fixing their same mistakes. look at current drive, Moore with a sack again. inability to prep for blitz
Hey Larsen, when you play OL, you're supposed to block someone. Wow, another play, no blocking, and a hold. Good work OL. Good work.
Harbaugh came from college to SF? I think you are wrong on that you are right he came from Stanford. forgot about that lol
Whoever put this Oline together and said we were good to go had to be high on Coke. It's the only explanation.
You can’t fix having bad players. Pouncey let’s a guy free up the middle and you think Gase coached him to do that? They can’t fix the defense if the problem is a complete and utter lack of talent.
Dude, Sam Young and Jesse Davis are lined up on the right side. Those weren't the projected starters for 2017.
but based on prior years, their number would be called because we lose linemen all the time. so if you didn't want them to start, we should have been deeper
I think you're asking for a little too much. No team fields all-pros across the entire line and then backups who step in and don't miss a bit.
No DPI there on Landry huh? Ok... Don't like that decision to go for it. Too much time, too deep in your own end, too many yards needed. There's the TD coming now to seal the deal. That's why you dont go for it in your own end with so much time left. Flip the field, put your D back out there and hope they give you another chance.
am I? if you are down to Jesse Davis and Sam Young, then your season is over. The fundamental problem is Gase was satisfied with the line. Gase said this, he said he could get a linemen of the street.
While some tout Gase as this bright NFL mind - to me he hasn't shown that he knows how to coach these players up. His personality doesn't seem to lend to it. All the defensiveness and eye rolling, just tired of watching it. IMO he has a better future as a coordinator not the leader of men.
this is such a great post by you. They complained about Cutler's mannerisms, and you are right, it is the same thing. I see more HC's more engaged and supportive.
No offense but your comment is ridiculous. You said "Whoever put this O-line together" and you're talking about today's game. They're playing down two starters on the right side. The hell were they supposed to do? Go trade for all-pros this week or find them on the street?
Yeah, that's the part that gets me. I mean, sure we can sit here and cry about playcalling, and decisions to play certain guys more, etc, etc, but really... as fans its hard to question all that without knowing the gameplan and such. To an extent anyways. There's issues there, for sure, but with this OL, playcalling gets awfully limited, awfully quickly. IT's hard to say I guess, maybe when the camera cuts away, it's fine, he's over there working with them, talking, coaching... we don't get to see that on TV. I sure hope he's not just standing there like a frustrated 12 year old. I think he's just so sick of it at this point and he knows there's nothing he can do at this point but hope he gets some relief in the personnel department.
NE had 2 sacks in the last 4 games. Again, teams tend to get away from their bad tendencies when facing us
That's why he and Cutler get along. Their dismissiveness is very similar. I can practically see the "Doooooooooon't care" audibly replaying in their minds.
