Those are some ugly numbers for Parker. He's done here IMO. I'd be shocked if he is on the roster next year. What a waste of potential. I dont give a **** if his girl did him wrong, don't care. Man up and do your job, stop being a soft, delicate little flower. Hate to see that potential go to waste here and maybe be realized elsewhere, but... what a waste he's been here.

They aren't even throwing to him much now it seems. I don't think Cutler trusts him anymore, or he is hurt and they are just using him as a decoy. That is entirely possible, but I really think they just don't trust him after last game in particular and they shouldn't. Fact remains, this is a team with many needs and he will cost the same amount to cut as to keep, so unless they find some undrafted guy for almost free that lights it up, expect one more year.

They probably have to keep him but give him the old "healthy scratch" for a few weeks to see if he grows up.

Yeah, but how much of them not throwing to him is simply the fact he's not good enough to get open? Most of the plays he's made this year, it's not like he's a WR that's getting open, he's a guy that's been fortunate enough to make a few plays. Sure, maybe they're using him as a decoy because Stills and Landry do tend to make plays, but ultimately, to me, Parker is just a guy. There isn't enough there on tape IMO for other teams to fear him as a WR when it comes to gameplanning.

I didn't realize he still had a cheap year left? I thought this was the last year of his deal. So yeah, if he's got another cheap year left, then I stand corrected, he's here next year unless they can unload him via trade for a couple of hot dogs. So much potential, going to waste right now it seems.

Parker has shown flashes in the past.

Even though he's been dreadful lately I don't think it's a good idea to cut him now. Roll the dice on him and hope he wakes up in his contract year.

If he's the type to play better in contract year, then definitely dump him before then.

Yeah, I'm with Fin D on this one, if the only thing that makes this kid perform is a contract year, then, why do we really need him? What's going to happen after he gets paid? He's right back to this again, but for big bucks? No thanks.

This was supposed to be his year. This regime and staff has been on him since they took over, and nothing has got this kid to clue in. It's getting to that point, where regardless there's not much you can do but give him a change of scenery. He's had chances, he's not taken advantage of them in any way whatsoever really aside from a few highlight plays. One good season next year, in a contract year, to me doesn't mean he's a good bet at that point.

I made the mistake earlier of saying he should be gone next year, assuming this was his contract year. That was my bad. So, it's highly likely he's here next year, although, I'd give alot of thought to trading him if you can get something good for him from a team hoping that a change of scenery unlocks his potential. I just dont see it happening here any longer.

I'm not advocating they sign him long term

But I don't think you cut bait on a guy with his potential who costs you nothing. You have to pay him one way or the other and I don't think it to be prudent to spend more on WR considering the holes on this team

Hope he performs better next season and then let him be someone else's headache

Good idea. I'd even give it a shot this year for a game or 2. Send him into the off season knowing it will happen if he doesn't pull his weight and get serious.

I don’t see why we’d keep Parker around and give Ajayi away for scraps. At least Ajayi has proven what he’s capable of.

Parker played really well in the first 3 games or so. Maybe it’s a case of opposing Ds gameplanning to contain him now.

It doesn't feel that way to me. I just think Gase is focusing on sure yards to get something started, and Parker is not the given we thought he'd be this season. The good news for Parker though is that when you have that kind of size/speed/ability, you will get more chances down the road. So he likely has about 20 more games to "breakout" of this young, selfish player mentality and really commit himself to the game.

Although I really like our receiving corp, the one thing it's missing is that veteran leader who takes the young guys under his wing. Maybe Gase will realize that and bring in a Steve Smith type of player that's been around the block at a high level and just needs 1 more paycheck before retiring. That might be a bad example because Smith might be retired already....he was just the first name that came to mind.

Drake has really impressed me in these last few weeks...even with the couple of fumbles. He runs super hard for a young player and he seems to have awesome vision and agility as well. That TD today was super technical in those precise cuts.

Another thing that impressed me- Drake said that today was the most carries he's had in a game since high school, but he easily could have carried it 20 more times with the way the line was blocking. He said that they deserved all the credit- when's the last time you've heard an NFL running back say that? I think he's suddenly one of my favorite players.

Ajayi needed to be off the team. He was a cancer. Getting rid of him wasn't about compensation, it was about getting him the hell out of there.

Now, you can disagree with the team getting rid of him and dispute why, I guess...but making the comparison you are doesn't;t really matter because it wasn't their intention to get his worth in compensation, they just wanted to get him gone.

My fear is that if he goes off because of the contract year, then our FO would resign him and not play the comp pick game. If I had faith the FO would do what you're suggesting, then hell yeah. I'm just not confident going that route in reality, will do anything but get us one good year and a bloated contract on player that gave up, all while passing on other talent.

Honestly, for me, I think a lot of us worry about the "wheeling and dealing" aspect of player acquisition in the draft and FA too much. I want to see them getting the basics right first(picking and getting rid of the proper players), before I want them to play games and get cute with deals.

I think he said before the game he had never carried more than 15, including high school. So that was his busiest game ever.
And Steve Smith is retired I believe. Saw him joking about it in a commercial. :)

Probably because Parker isn't anywhere near causing even a quarter of the problems Ajayi was in the locker room?

They even eluded to it on the SNF broadcast last night that Ajayi was surprised by the trade, because he was shocked and didn't see it coming. He thought he was appreciated, but after the trade and some self reflection realized that the things he was doing, and the attitude he was bringing needed some adjusting.

I'm not sure why some people are still refusing to believe what happened here and why this move had to happen. You can only give a guy so many chances to get with the program. You can tolerate it when he's performing well, and you're winning, but when he's not, and you arent winning, and you believe he's holding the offense back with his obvious limitations, you just need that problem removed. Look, I wish they'd gotten more for him too, but at some point, the problem has to go when it won't change after given multiple opportunities.

Indy is doing the same. In all honesty i believe unless something drastic happens we’re out of the top QB picking contest and into reach picks if Gase is looking at QB prospects for his system. I hope he doesn’t think Ryan will recover play better than he has and become a true NFL star. While I like Ryan i just don’t see him as the answer.

i believe cleveland, indy, denver, giants, and jets will all pick before us and they all need a QB i’m guessing luck will be traded.

I don’t think Parker’s career is over by any stretch, but he’s not really worth discussing any longer. Being healthy enough to play for most of the season and only putting up 500 yards is the very definition of being Just Another Guy.

Anyone that falls into that category is in danger of getting eaten up in the yearly roster churn. And without question, if a team can ever get a draft pick for a JAG-level player, they’ll take it on the basis that they aren’t going to be losing anything they can’t replace. I say that because I can only imagine Miami will at least pick up the phone to see if anyone’s interested in the off-season (they probably already have with several players). So I won’t be surprised if he does indeed wind up being involved in a Day-3 draft trade or something like that.

If he stays, he'll have 2018 to work with Tannehill but at this point, he'll be lucky to get that opportunity, IMO. He's done nothing to force the team into creating a spot for him. The train has sailed, as Austin Powers would say.

Of course, this is all good news for Landry. Fact is, Parker’s the lack of involvement is just more leverage for Landry in negotiating with this team beyond his production, reliability and chemistry with Tannehill.

None of us know what really went on but if I’m a player and I’m sore and injured all the time, I don’t feel any better when the team still sucks after such a talented player is given away for almost nothing.

We feel better now but this feeling will go away.

I loved watching the Dolphins get a decisive victory yesterday. That was awesome and we were mega due for it. Hope we start a streak. I know this seems contradictory to what I've been saying but I've always wanted us to win. Winning cures all problems. Let's keep it up!

That Bronco offense is TERRIBLE. Hard to imagine this game playing out the same without their defense being so gassed.

Positives continue to be Drake and Stills. Gase's onside kick was in very poor taste.

It actually did look like the kicker starting hustling in Fede's direction as though he was going to attempt to hit him. Fede was joggign along, watching the recovery happen and noticed the kicker running at him in time to shove him aside.

And a flag was thrown on Fede for that. Maybe I saw it wrong, but it seemed like Fede was flagged unnecessarily.

the block is at 3:20. if you watch the punter after, you can see his pursuit angle changes once he gets near a player, which happened to be Fede, the punter was trying to hit someone.
