In the last 4 games with NE, we have either been down 14-0 in the first or 19-0 at halftime. This is the trend that needs to stop. I implore Adam Gase to go back and look at the film this week from these games. Because they matter, it's part of a similar trend. Miami needs to obviously be different and script different for the 1st quarter. Two weeks ago, it was a fake punt. But it's also stopping them on 3rd and long, because they choose to play zone and not dial up pressure. On offense, eliminate the bonehead play calling. Know your down and distance vs this team, avoid 3rd and long, and that means being better on 2nd down, even if you failed 1st down. Cover the TE, shadow the backs out of the backfield and understand gap assignments to stop the gashing of the run.
Drives me freakin nuts getting down two scores to teams..but when you lack smart personnel this is what happens..
I posted something before about how many 3 and outs they had vs NE to start the last several games. Just nuts. I want to see more 50/50 balls and a force of their DB's to make plays one on one. One last rant, don't return a punt of a KO, bc that's a penalty always waiting to happen
I do think this will be a breakout game for grant..he’s changed his running style and it has the look of one right move and he gone. We say it every time we play them but for some reason we just don’t play man up on their receivers and jam..belicek teaches the receivers how to defeat zone coverage.. We’ve been a poor third down conversion team for years..have wished for the qbs to run for a few on third downs but that hasn’t happened since david woodley was playing. They’re without their big monkey but I expect Dwayne Allen to have a big game.. not sure why he hasn’t popped for them, I like him as a player .. Cooks scares the crap out of me..
I actually want to see Grant lineup in the slot. needs to exploit all mis-matches and stop being predictable on passing plays.
I’d rather see him on the boundary where he has space to create separation and the speed to get behind, I thought the preseason experiment out there was successful and I’m very surprised we haven’t seen him get some reps, at this point give Parker some pine and let him watch sponge bob and lets see what this real dog can do out there.. I don’t think the slot is best for him because I feel the slot demands real good hands because of the reactionary time and the routes that accompany it, and outside it’s a bit easier.. In last weeks game I saw a player on returns looking at the field differently then he’s ever done, in college and in the pros it’s been all about him just outjuking people to gain yardage, this was a predictable trait when he was coming out, on Sunday I saw a real return pro cutting up the field into sections and using angles and speed to gain the yardage..that’s how you do it man.
Do agree on KO's - stop taking the ball out, you are hurting field position. Take the 25 every time. Not necessarily an issue specific to us as well ... but stop fielding punts inside the 10 too.
It does seem like we need to get down by that many points to "open up the offense" vs the Patriots. I'm with you on that... we need to be open from the get go. What do we have to lose? Side note, as mentioned re Jakeem Grant... I think he's been better the last two weeks on returns. Both on punt and KO.
this offense needs something to make up for the deficiency in Parker. I never thought I would say that
I have no opinion on that, but I panicked when I saw you wrote 19-0. Didn't want you to get sued by the cheatriots. Luckily, it looks like you are in the clear. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...nd-patriots-get-perfect-season-19-0-trademark On a related note, does anyone else find it funny that a team tried so hard to get a patent for 19-0 and perfect season without actually doing either in their history?
is that seriously in comparison to Landry? Landry was under investigation. A spat on twitter probably happens more often than not. Parker was a bust from the jump. Another overrated draft pick. Add them to Tannehill, Jordan, Tunsil and Harris. Want to why we are mediocre? We don't get anything from our 1st round picks.
It also happened to coincide with his drop in play this year. Probably a coincidence, because you know, reasons.....
Lol. Your posts are just entertainment. Yes his gf is the reason why he sucks. Does not matter he is a practice snd camp warrior. He must have these issues for 3 years. He is a bust. Just a long list that includes Tannehill, Tunsil, James, Jordan and Harris. In many ways, Parker’s inability to be the #1 WR in this team is just as bad as the excuses of having a bad line and qb. He is a pro. Gf problems is zero ad an excuse. But keep defending mediocrity
I'm clearly not saying that. I'm saying Parker got depressed when he and his girl broke up. I'm saying he's soft. I'm saying you were wrong when you said these things never happened. Instead of being a man, and admitting you were wrong, you keep doubling down on being wrong and want to mischaracterize what i was saying and argue because you seem to have this fetish for being absurd.
I'm not comparing anything to Landry. I'm saying that Parker had some girlfriend issues and whined about it like a child. He's soft. It is looking more and more like he won't develop, but I would understand if they give him one more year (he's cheap right now) to play with RT throwing him the ball. However, I wouldn't call him a bust from the jump.
Sigh. Why am I being held responsible for your utter lack of reading comprehension? Do you or do you not understand the difference between the following: - Parker is playing bad and it is his girlfriend's fault - Parker is playing bad because he's depressed he broke up with his girlfriend Surely, even you, can tell the difference between these two concepts.
That long list you just posted only includes one guy who is an actual bust......Parker is looking to join him but the rest of those guys you shouldn't have in a bust list.
While I agree with 1 (maybe 2) busts on that list...we also haven't drafted a blue chip player in the 1st round in a long LONG time.
This I can agree with....it seems we get late round steals more than early round gems going back many years.....half that list though is yet to be decided and harris on a bust list with 12 games on his resume and being productive drafted late in the first is laughable. Also I don't think a team falls off as much as our phins when loosing a first round bust qb........If anything what has happened this season has sold me a little bit on tanny.....we will see going forward.
