I don't know if this is through trade, FA or the draft. This team is starving for a proper LT and should move Tunsil back to G. When the unicorns were healthy last year, Brandon Albert was LT. There are LT's that have ben drafted recently that have not stayed or never played LT and their teams or careers have been successful, like Eric Fisher and Lane Johnson. A QB transcends an offense, and a LT transcends the entire OL. Again, the same old thinking has to stop.I've seen enough of Tunsil the Turnstile, to realize he is a liability at LT.

Same old thinking? What are you talking about?

We spent a first round pick on LT.

i think tunsils issues have a lot to do with the subpar guards. Tunsil should stay at LT he’s still very young. we need a guard and center (please get rid of pointy) via trade

    Slightly left of center
Why you guys picking on PoundCake? He's been livin off his brothers play for a LOOONG time now. I think he would be a better player at RG now. Time to get a C more than a LT. The C is the leader of the OL he makes the line calls and sets protection. Generally the C is making the difference at the 2nd level in the run game, PoundCake hasn't been doing well at either this last few years. LT is the glamour boy position on the OL, C is the nuts. Our OL needs bigger nuts.

Tunsils fine. It's very likely we ****ed up his maturation by making him play guard in the first place.

Give him another season at LT and I bet he's one of the better tackles in the league.

Here you go - your 2018 LT's potentially available in free agency.

    Which one do you want?

    upload_2017-12-11_8-24-26.png

Or if you want to draft one, then that's a trickier challenge. Not a lot of LT's expected to go in the first round.
Mike McGlinchey looks like the top rated LT on most lists out there, but there are no guarantees.
Lots of draft analysts have a Guard as the top O Lineman though, Quenton Nelson.

If you're taking a LT in the first round, which other position are you looking to draft lower down?

    WTF are you talking about?

Tunsil was drafted to play left tackle. They put him at guard while they had Albert. The plan was ALWAYS to play him at LT.

    You're ridiculous.

    Sigh.

You said we need to change the way we approach LT. You were implying we didn't take the position seriously.

I pointed out we spent a 1st rd pick on the position last year.

You then spiraled out of control acting like he wasn't picked to be a LT.

Now you're acting like Tunsil is the reason for all problems, when he actually hasn't played anywhere near as badly as you're acting he has.....all while ignoring you were wrong about why he was drafted and wrong about the philosophy behind it.

It is a little bat ****.

Look, if Pounder is the best we have at center for now then I don't want to risk downgrading from that. I honestly feel like we should...Ya know....Let Tunsil play Left Tackle...seeing how that is what he was drafted for in the first place. We definitely need an upgrade at the guard position. I think an upgrade from Bushrod would be nice and some depth behind the injury prone Juwan James would be preferred as well. I can't stand Sam Young, he's a human turnstile and honestly not good enough to even be in the NFL much less starting on our team. So as frustrating as it is, I think we need to continue to focus on the offensive line. It's either that or we say the Hell with Tannehill and draft a new quarterback. Someone mobile...like a Baker Mayfield or Lamar Jackson, someone that can take control of this team and lead. Building an elite offensive line sounds like a great idea, but we've been trying to do this (with zero success) since the Marc Colombo days. I'll even go further back and say we've been trying to do this since the Vernon Carey days.

Guard is our biggest weakness followed closely by Center. If they dont invest in at least Guards in this draft, and I mean high in the draft, we will be screwed again.

The problem with Pouncey now is his hips are so bad he can hardly get to the 2nd level on run plays. His pass blocking is still good. The guards are pitiful.

I believe the guy lovess the team, but needs to change his approach a bit so he doesn’t keep accumulating enemies... that can’t be a fun experience.. this is supposed to be fun..good back and forth, sometimes stand your ground but be open to being wrong.. interact in a way where you can make some buds.. then it’s fun..

Sometimes we all have to check ourselves

Nah, come on. Even if you disagree with someone or don't think posts have value it's no reason to attack them personally. None of us have to read anyone's posts, let alone reply. People can choose to ignore threads, posters or whatever.

    Let's keep it civil.

    You nailed it sir.

If a poster you tend to disagree with creates a thread?? Stay the hell out, or just don't reply if it will inevitably lead to you insulting him. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out, and seems much more logical than coming in to attack OP which is happening wayyy too often of late.
