Sure if a Linebacker is responsible for him past 10 yards of the LOS he will beat that, but that’s not what I’m talking about.. I’m a juice fan, I don’t take him for granite, but my college evaluation of him ( which concluded as, A very effective, strong, bad *** slot receiver who gets less dangerous the farther he gets from the Los.) seems to coincide with his inordinately low Ypc in the pros.
Considering we are a mediocre team, I’m not surprised the coaches “get it”. Lol they would of turned Barry Sanders into an OG if they had the chance because they “get it”.
If he could get open deep he would get those targets. Juice is extremely football savvy, but he doesn't have the height, speed, or quickness to be more effective deep. You don't need all 3, but Landry ain't got it. He's so effective in the short range, why waste snaps and attempts deep to a person not built for it?
its not rocket science, he's an easier cover the father he gets away from the LOS...Just something we have to accept.. you sound pretty down on this staff?
The question is not wether we want to give landry a second contract or not, we definitely should in my opinion. The real question is how much is he going to be demanding? Top 10 WR money? That's too much in my opinion since landry is not a top 10 guy. 10-12 million is a good deal, more than that is overpaying. He is not a game changing receiver. He is not a deep threat because he just doesn't have deep speed, not because we don't throw to him deep. I was actually mad at gase for going deep to landry on a few occasions this year because it's a complete waste of time. He is just not fast enough to get behind DBs and create any separation, and he is not big enough or a good enough jumper to go up and win 50/50 balls.
Yes they have, when parker went out with his injury gase started taking deep shots to landry. Complete failure since he could never get any separation whatsoever.
