For us to have any chance at the playoffs we're going to have to beat the Chiefs and go 3-0 in this stretch, so we will have the tie-breaker over whoever loses that game no matter what (we already beat the Chargers). Or, we lose to the Bills/Chiefs and none of it matters anyway.

So really, that game is "pick your poison". It doesn't matter either way as long as we do what we need to do. But if you think we have a chance at getting in with 8 wins, then root for the Chiefs so we have a better chance of tying the Chargers.

Chiefs right? I mean Chargers are in our way playoff wise. Them coming off a win or loss shouldn't really impact us as long as we play like we didi Monday night.

With the Chefs win over the Chargers, the Chefs will not need a win over Miami to secure the AFCWest. They can win it in the final week in Denver. Of course none of this matters unless Miami takes care of Buffalo this weekend, but as fans we are allowed to look ahead.

For those that didn't watch the game, Rivers and the Chargers imploded in the second half (after taking a 13-10 lead on their first drive) with THREE back-to-back-to-back turnovers. Chefs found their running game and it was game over.

So, the Chargers are out of the playoff picture if the Phins win out, and the Chefs should win the division so no competition for a wildcard spot from them. We need a win at Buffalo and a Titan loss to the 49ers and it will be a good weekend. Actually, a Pats loss to the Steelers and a Jaguars win would push the Pats down to the #3 seed (I think), so that would be a GREAT weekend! :)

That's only half right- we still need the Titans to lose two so we can catch them or someone else to win out and meet us at 9-7. Remember, we lose the tie-breaker against the Ravens so we need someone else there with us. I think the Pats, Jags and Steelers are a lock at the top three and I think Buffalo drops out (due to us). So that leaves the Raiders to go 3-0 (won't happen), LA to go 2-0 (won't happen) or Baltimore to just choke and lose two against bad teams (not likely). So that leaves two Titans losses as our best hope (certainly possible)...there's nobody else with a solid chance to make it to 9-7 except us.

But don't quote me on that because I'm a little inebriated at the moment.

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply Miami was set with a playoff spot with a win over the Bills and a Titan loss this weekend. It will go down to beating Buffalo at Miami in the final week. However, a Titans loss this weekend means they only have to lose ONE MORE game to the Rams or Jags and then Miami is in control of their playoff chances.

I think the Ravens win out and grab the #5 seed, but that leaves us #6. Of course, if things go as I hope? We meet the Pats again in the wildcard round and Kansas City hosts Baltimore. A playoff win for the first time in forever against the Pats would be awesome. Going into that game on a five game win streak would make for a competitive game.

Mine were a long time ago. I couldn't believe that some on here were actually clutching at those tiny straws of hope the Dolphins were holding out for their fans. With still having to play the Pats (fluke win), Cutler was just showing everyone that he could still do what Brady is still doing. His piss poor showing v The Bills is what he really is about. If we don't do something about getting rid of Cutlet and Moore and putting a NEW QB in place ready for next season, it's going to be another waste of time. On the plus side, at least you only have 16 weeks of hell a season.

Everyone better focus on inserting all their negativity on this thread only. All the other room is for Dan Marino '84 and best long snapper ever John Denney admiration threads. As this thread was started earlier we can post on here that the Phins looked like a raging dumpster fire on Sunday and got pushed around by a team that obviously want the playoffs more than we do. We'll now have won just enough games to not make any leadership changes. Burk had one game where the D looked good against the Patriots so we'll end up keeping him (someone will cite like two more games and how I'm a negative jerk because I didn't post on here that Burk got his fire building merit badge in Weebelos).

We'll end up keeping Gase who is not very consistent at gameplanning the offense based upon our inability to often win two or three even in a row. Sure, I get the argument who is better to replace him with and I agree at this point but still. He did a pretty terrible job more than 50% this year. Don't give me the blah blah about Tannehill (who should have been made to have the knee surgery 13 months ago and we should have had found a temp starter in free agency who would have been there for all of training camp).

We'll end up keeping Tannenbaum because Ross is a wimp owner. We'll finish probably 7-9 and that'll be marketed as a miracle to him with all of the paper cuts we had and the hurricane that hit 17 weeks earlier.

Hopefully we can at least trade Parker for a chia pet and get ourselves a TE.

What I want to have happen:
Move up in the draft and snag one of the top stud QBs in the draft. Pre-combine, I won't forecast who but the T-Hill project is going to be in it's sixth year. Time to at least have some mega pressure and draft the future at QB. Tannehill would still be the QB next year so if he kills it, he stays and we have a Brees/Rivers positive thing happening with the new qube. If Tannehill doesn't play well, we trade him and insert the new qube in '19 starter. How is that not win/win? Send Cutler back to the booth and get Moore a job as a Liberty City Uber driver.

Resign Landry. Pay the man. We don't want to see him on another team. Best hands in NFL history so far.

Hire Wake as DE coach. He'll be even older. Let's face it. Looked good against the Pats though!

The Suh deal is way too big. Make him restructure.

Cut some other players to free up some cash. There's plenty of meh players we can get rid of. Start with Julius Thomas.

Swing at the fences in FA and grab Leveon Bell. I don't know how. I'm not an NFL GM. Just do it.

Either draft a baller TE or get Graham from the Seahawks.

I'm certain for some I didn't provide facts and screenshots of the scoreboards from the games we lost or someone's kid had the chicken pox and that is why we played so bad or had lost their housekeeper. The point is, we need to make some changes on this team to consistently win next year. We need to have a progression plan at QB and really need to analyze the non performers from this year coaches and players alike. This is what winning teams do. They make changes before the changes are blatantly obvious. The Patriots have made a living of knowing exactly who needs to go and when. We need a mall map under Tannebaum.

Signing Jimmy Graham would be a colossal mistake in my opinion. He's done. True....He's still a red zone option and he's caught some TDs, but he's got one reception for -1 yards in the last two weeks when his team needed him the most. He's also getting older and at this point, he's injury prone. If we did sign him, expectations should be tempered.

Well, Graham would fit in the Jordan Cameron, Julius Thomas mold that this organization loves the last few years. Plus we could have a new slogan: "The Miami Dolphins: Where pro bowl tight ends from 5 years ago go to collect 1 final pay day!"

Such a great post. I wouldn't restructure Suh though. In 2019, he is $15M in cap savings, $13M dead money. Just wait it out. We have one Pro-Bowler, Pitt has 8. We void talent. We keep holding onto players that potentially have potential lol. Or coming back from injury, will slay it next year lol. I agree with you, why is the team afraid of real QB competition? It's not like we draft #1 picks well for a living. That's one reason why this team sucks, Jordan, Tannehill, James, Harris, Turnstile, Parker. Not one Pro-Bowler, injured, never lived up to potential. Look at what new qb's have given the cities of LA, Hou, and Philly. Tannehill doesn't have the ability to mask holes on a team. You have to go out and send $50M on a line, so he has time to throw. An elite qb, and the search for it, masks all holes on a team. Brady plays with Walmart Linemen, but he can mask that. BTW, Bell is the perfect back for Gase, but he might not last after 2018 if he doesn't win
