As I suspected. His post that you quoted, in a vacuum, reads that, but in context and from his many other posts he doesn't think RT is currently a top 10 QB.

For example, this was a follow-up post from him to you: "Once Thomas and turner were off the team until he was injured, his numbers were Top 10, that is simple, irrefutable fact."

Any reasonable person would see that he thinks RT is capable of being a top 10 QB based upon things that cbrad just mentioned in his earlier post.

And I'm thinking you do have another screen name. I could be wrong, but I don't think so...

Carr isn't having a very good season, even with that great offensive line. Not saying Ryan is better, but it isn't exactly insane to think he is.

Wentz? Sure. Mariota? Based on what? Luck? Is he even going to be able to play again? Big Ben? On the decline and talking retirement?

Again, I don't want any words put in my mouth, so I'm not saying Tannehill is better than any of them, but not everything is black and white.

Okay I think almost everyone can agree he has the physical gifts and potential to become a top 10 QB, but as of right now he isn't. Great now we can move on!
What would be the point of having multiple screen names?

How on Earth is Carr not debatable? He is a fine quarterback, but he hasn't been lights out amazing.

Mariota is an O.K. quarterback with potential.

Luck is so overrated. When you put the stats against teams that have similar defenses Luck and Tannehill's stats are very comparable. Luck has the benefit of feasting on very easy schedules. I am still waiting for Luck to be the Luck that people love to make him out to be.

How is it debatable? Well, because Carr doesn't really do anything that much better than RT. They are both high 80 career passer rating QB's. One could easily argue that Carr has more team stability, an overall better team, and better coaching for more of his career than RT.

I like Wentz. However, claiming that he's going to be some great franchise QB at this time is foolish. Mariota? No, I would not. Luck...meh. He's been more hype than substance. If you put up RT's and Luck's career numbers side by side you couldn't pick out who is who and that's after Luck was called the next HoF QB coming out of college.

So throwing more TD passes through his first 3 seasons than every QB in the history of this league not named Dan Marino while leading his team to the AFC Championship game wasn't enough for you?

Luck had one outlier season where he threw 40 TD's. (He averages 26 TD's per season)And even with that one season Luck throws 1 more TD, on average, per 100 passes than RT. Now, that's significant, but not earth shattering better. And before and after that season he's been an average QB just like RT. Could Luck be the QB people thought he would be if he was on another team? Probably. The skill set is there. (That's assuming he ever plays again) However, that can be said about nearly all average to above average QB's.

    So CAL
once again you forgot cam newton, Rodgers passing ability lets his scrambling ability take over but to say hes a "running qb" is far reaching man!!!

your crazy no one in the early 90's was 325lbs running 4.9's. your being ridiculous thinking the early years until the late 90's early 2000's players were no where one where near the size and speed of today. cam newton is bigger than any lineman from the 70's

name one player who ran a 4.3 before deion? matter of fact how many defenders ran under a 4.8? I would assume less than 1 percent. tark or young had no one suh size chasing them, hell cam wake for that matter.

ill use Lt since he was the best back then and pretty much ahead of everyone in regards to speed and size which Im not going to assume you don't agree but he was far above every other defender besides maybe derrik Thomas and reggie white. I will get the best of the all time best and compare them to todays players

    Lawrence taylor 6'3 - 235 lbs 40 time 4.53
    derrick Thomas 6'1" 230 40 time 4.58
    Reggie white 6'5 300 lbs 40 time 4.6
    mike singletary 6'1 230 40 yard dash N/A
    dick butkus 6'3 245 lbs N/A

    von miller 6'3 249lbs 40 time 4.49
    ray lewis 6'1 250 lbs, 40 time 4.58
    suh 6'4' 305lbs 40 time 4.98
    jj watt 6'5 289 lbs 40 time 4.84
    cam wake 6'3" 269lbs 40 time 4.65
    vince wilfork 6'3 325lbs 40 time 5.08
    chris long 6'4 275lbs 40 time 4.75
    clay Mathews 6'3 255 40 time 4.67
    Melvin Ingram 6'2 247lbs 40 yard time 4.79

I grabbed some notables and just randoms, as you can see not only are the avg players bigger than HOF, the speed which made the HOF unstoppable is also comparable to an avg player in the nfl today. so imagine suiting up against dick butkis every sunday that's what qbs face today speed wise but size wise is not comparable lbs and de out weigh HOF by 20lbs+ so to say they are the same is asinine, there are more players today run 4.3's and 4.4 than anyone in the 70's-late 90's added together.

I didn't "forget" about Cam Newton. He's not better than Wilson or Rodgers at running, IMO. So you can stop with that strawman.

And you should learn what "relative" means. Or else you risk wasting more of your time posting these heights, weights, 40 times....lol

That's probably asking too much from someone who doesn't know the differences between "then" and "than" and "you're" and "your"...lol

He moved into top 10 -12 his third season. He was just playing behind such a disaster of an off line that people who are incapable of looking beyond stats couldn' see it. It' been that way his whole career. People who need stats to make their case because of a lack of understanding of the game have never given him the credit he deserves. He finally got some tools in front of him and started showcasing his skills but got injured and people say it was only one year. Yeah his most recent but let's go back and give his rookie year equal weight. Because No one ever needs time to learn the position

no you should, having 5 guys in the league back then to 40 guys in the league today is not relative at all, but continue to think that way its fine the worst trait in someone is always thinking you are right so by all means continue to do so and ill just stop engaging in a conversation with mr know it all.

When multiple people have the same opinion people on here think they are all the same person, but when its their opinion and people agree with it it means there smart and right.

Just ignore it I seen it said to multiple people on here its childish and funny don't take it personally.

    LMAO!

    Try again...

Never mind, I can't take this crap all day and I'm sure unless I explain it to you you'll just keep at it.

These are made up numbers, but hang with me.

    If 1970 QB weighed 185lbs and ran a 5 sec 40 but was going up against 1970 LB'ers that weighed 220lbs and ran a 4.8 40 that's RELATIVE to 2017 QB who weighs 225, and runs a 4.8 40 going up against 2017 LB'er that is 255 and run 4.5 40's.

Further explanation will be needed for you, so here you go:

1970 QB is 35lbs lighter and .2 seconds slower.

2017 QB 30lbs lighter and .3 seconds slower.

    Relative.

What you're suggesting is that back then midgets were playing against normal sized people. Not true. Everyone, in regards to size, was relative to what we see in regards to size in today's NFL. Understand?

He's raw and too mechanical in his play sometimes. I think Gase started to un-learn some bad habits, and he showed a marked improvement last season. I think if he can stay healthy he'll be pretty good.

But you can only hit the QB in the chest or it' a 15 yard penalty. Also you can't hit receivers anymore. 5 yards and even when they'e catching the ball. In the old days defensive linemen could body slam you. It was much more difficult being a QB in the 70s and 80s

I think so. And I believe more and more people are coming around to that way of thinking. Year after year the Pats give up a lot of yards, but rarely give up a lot of points. Same with most good to great defenses.

Ryan Tannehill has to be the most divisive player in Miami sports history. To expect him to be elite after 7 seasons his highly unlikely. The history of football dictates that his best years are behind him. QBs that are elite now have been that way very early in their career. Time to let go and build sustainability

playing like a top 10 is subjective and is an eye test. I have never seen RT play like a top 10 simply because of pocket presence and bad throws. He'll have a few good plays and drives. But to say he plays like a top 10 is just a way of saying he played ok last year but wasn't statistically top 10. you are either top 10 or not.

His accuracy is one of the leagues best. His arm strength is phenomenal. I'm not sure what "bad throws" you're talking about, but all QB's have bad throws. RT has had stretches where he's played like a top 3 QB. However, he's had a lot of games where he's played like a top 10 QB.
