With the FA and draft coming up share here what you think/hope the Dolphins should/will do to improve the team. Detailed picks/selections are welcome but not necessary. Instead, the basic idea is to list what positions/changes you'd like the Dolphins to address and where/how. For example - Draft Round 1 (Pick 14) - Backup QB Round 2 (Pick 45) - Starting RB Round 3 (Picks 76, 107, 125, 173) - Backup LB, Backup CB, Backup CB, Backup WR Round 6 (Pick 199) - Backup WR FA Starting OG, Backup C Trades/Cuts Landry Parker Pouncey Obviously this could be very simplified, and that's fine, the idea is just to get a sense of what we want/hope to see the Dolphins prioritise and change. If you want to throw out specific draft target or FA trades etc. go ahead though.
IMO... Rd1 LB/edge rusher Rd2 LB/FS Rd3 RB,G,OT Rd4 G,OT, or QB Rd5-7 depth at needed positions We also really could use a punter
Draft- Round 1- LB Round 2- DT/DE Round 3- QB (2nd and 3rd round may swap places) Round 4- RB Round 5- LB Round 6- DT Round 7 (two picks here)- DT, Punter UFA's- Two to Three linemen Two secondary Three WR Two RB One to Two QB One kicker Free Agency/Cuts- Add one veteran lineman Add one younger DT Cutler gone (obviously) Landry gone Moore gone (Fales stays as projected QB2) Hayes gone Misi gone and maybe Allen gone...that one can go either way. Bonus Crazy Scenario- Trade Suh for a 2nd and a starting caliber LB, which frees up enough cash to pay Landry AND gets us a stud RB in the 2nd

Get a new HC to begin with...Gase has shown inexperience and confusion enough to make that call now. His first staff in which some have gone says something too and won't be missed. Oh ya Cutler whom he actually had experience with another brain fart........ Fins are and have been for decades a scrambled team, a few outstanding players but generally the proverbial hopefuls never seeming to play together with any kind of consistency to find the finish line. And a Head Coach who at times has shown he doesn't even know what direction they should be facing to even find a finish line. Ya another year of FA and the draft to get us all excite about, but when all is said and done the only thing that I see positive will sadly be another disappointing year in which the powers that be will have another Opportunity to realize the level of mediocre we are at....(that would make next year a success if this is realized) Truthfully see, we are still in the early stages of "rebuild". Early stage LOL, YA "REBUILD FOR 2 DECADES ALMOST 20 YEARS. ( Might be time to wake up folks ) Hey we only need some OL a couple LB's, potentially a QB, few upgrades on the defense, #2 RB, and if Landry goes add filling another hole at WR.....Hey we got a good Kicker though....How many years do we have to see this to get a clue ? Oh we made the playoffs ...lol ya and got our azzes kicked to expose the real level of team we were. Until they realize we first off NEED a Friggin Head Coach who has some proven and real experience at it..were just spinning our wheels... Draft and FA's in mind for a few years down the road and not the fantasy of being for real next season. Sorry, but after 20 years of seeing similar approach have lost expectations for the team I truly loved for most of my life....Head Coach Head Coach Head Coach proven experienced is a must AND THE FIRST REAL STEP TO SUCCESS...jmo..
Chad Forbes @NFLDraftBites #Dolphins Will look to address O-Line in FA. Name keep hearing tied to Phins Jack Mewhort. Left Guard the focus. Not in Andrew Norwell market. Feel veteran stability next to Tunsil will help development. Looks like the organization to a " T " ... Mewhort finished (2016) on IR and required surgery to address a “chondral defect’’ with his left knee. 2017 Latest knee issue, Surgery once again required. Injury prone, sounds like our guy.... Andrew Norwell of course we're not interested..... Unbelievable....Fins are a joke...and I hope its just meaningless hear say were not interested in Norwell, he'd be GREAT !
First off, one tweet does not a guarantee make. Second of all, even if the Fins are interested in Mewhort it doesn't mean they're looking to pay him decent money or take him as the only option - IF they're interested it could be as a cheap one year pick up to see if they snag a deal - and that's assuming he passes muster on the medical check they'll do. As for Norwell, word is he'll command a serious contract figure. Once again, ASSUMING, this Chad Forbes guy even has a bead on things, the Dolphins might simply not want to drop mega bucks on a left guard, even if he is, or projects as, the best guard in the league.
Hey G ...very true just a rumor I saw.....I thought I'd throw it out there.... My biggest fear ...Ya one year pick up that we become heavily dependent on, not like that hasn't been the pattern thats played out far to much and FAILED routinely !! At some point you have to get over the "cheap" we need to spend some real $$$ on a OL and signing Norwell on a long contract would be a huge good start. ( Now Norwell probably the best G out there in FA and 26 years old so true $$$ maybe be just to ridiculous, but if doable ( yes spending maybe more than we want to )we need to focus on getting a dependable OL and not just for next season. People have to start to understand that this is not a short term process, we are not close to a couple of players doing it for us. Christ thats even IF Tannehill meets manys expectations. I can't see them going for Mewhort with how injury prone he's been but they do not surprise me much any more and it could be true. Cheap OL is going to reward us with more continued aggravation ....And I'd almost bet they still don't get it and damn a no little like me and many other Monday morning fans get it... You'd think a professional would be all over it especially since the failure has been going on forever.... We should be building for the future and not think that its next year, for that thinking only extends the process to even more years and OL is a great place to start especially if there is actually high quality players available ....
