Also would hope that Adam Gase/the new OC pays some attention to some of original/innovative playcalling as well, the Eagles particularly mixed it up well. Some of it was high risk (the td pass to Foles on 4th down for instance) but it kept the Pats off balance for the whole game. Showed you that you can pass on 3rd down but the play was still a low risk play

Our OC Loggains called that exact play for the bears. http://www.snappytv.com/tc/3583097/2103110

Here's a few looks at our situational playcalling last year. Some things that stood out to me are how often we faced 2nd & long, and the very low amount of attempts we had in 3nd & short, and medium.

    First Downs:
1st & 10 we had the highest percentage of passing calls with 56% (NFL avg: 47%), and ranked 19th in the amount of opportunities with 400 attempts. 48% success rate.

    Second Downs:

    I. 2nd & Short (1-2 yds) we called run 74% (NFL avg: 67%) and were ranked 24th in the amount of opportunities with 27 attempts. 63% success rate.

II. 2nd & Med (3-6 yds) we called run 53% (NFL avg: 51%), and were ranked 18th in the amount of opportunities with 88 attempts. 57% success rate.

III. 2nd & Med/Long (7-9 yds) we called pass 75% (NFL avg: 61%), and were ranked 30th in the amount of opportunities with 65 attempts. 37% success rate.

VI. 2nd & Long (10-12 yds) we called pass 59% (NFL avg: 61%), and were ranked 5th in the amount of opportunities with 109 attempts. 39% success rate.

    V. 2nd & Extra Long (13+ yds) we called pass 63$ (NFL avg: 77%), and were ranked 12th in the amount of opportunities with 38 attempts. 21% success rate.

    Third Downs:

    I. 3rd & Short (1-2 yds) we called run 61% (NFL avg: 55%), and were ranked 29th in the amount of opportunities with 31 attempts. 58% success rate.

II. 3rd & Med (3-6 yds) we called pass 91% (NFL avg: 86%), and were ranked 28th in the amount of opportunities with 57 attempts. 37% success rate.

III. 3rd & Med/Long (7-9 yds) we called pass 93% (NFL avg: 89%), and were ranked 10th in the amount of opportunities with 46 attempts. 35% success rate.

IV. 3rd & Long (10-12 yds) we called the highest amount of pass 97% (NFL avg: 89%), and were ranked 16th in the amount of opportunities with 34 attempts. 24% success rate.

    V. 3rd & Extra Long (13+ yds) we called pass 82% (NFL avg: 83%), and we ranked 9th in the amount of opportunities with 34 attempts. 3% success rate.

*A play is successful when it gains at least 40% of yards-to-go on first down, 60% of yards-to-go on second down and 100% of yards-to-go on third or fourth down.
