'Quinn only missed one game during his first four years in the NFL. However, he missed 15 games over the next two seasons. In 2015, he missed eight games due to knee, hip, and back injures before being placed on injured reserve in December 2015 to undergo back surgery.

But the injury bug was well-acquainted with Quinn in 2016. He missed nine games due to a shoulder injury and a concussion. Once again, he was placed on injured reserve late in the season.'

The cap money is on the high side, but no complaints about giving up a fourth rounder. If Quinn is part of a rotation he may be able to shake the injury bug. Just like CBs, you can NEVER have too many pass rushers.

I expect to see a Miami equivalent to the Giants all DE pass rush package. Moving a DE inside to rush worked out pretty well for the Eagles in this last Super Bowl.

You must not have watched any Miami football last season. Wake, last season, did not look like a player who had lost a step. AT ALL...

Now, that may be different this season because age will catch up to everyone.

Quinn was picked up because the FO saw a GREAT deal on a potentially GREAT player and they know Wake is playing on borrowed time. But Wake has not slowed down one iota.

A healthy Quinn and Harris will tear **** up.

Much to the chagrin of the Harris haters I'm sure.

    lol...Clueless

He played in all 16 games last season. I think if he had major back issues it would have showed itself last year.

Quinn was a first-team All-Pro in 2013 and amassed a whopping 40 sacks between 2012-2014. He missed 15 games in 2015 and 2016 but played in all 16 last season, notching 8.5 sacks (9.5 if you include the playoffs) as a stand-up 3-4 linebacker.

One thing to consider about this trade is that it would pretty easy to lower Quinn's cap number

I'm not the only one who thinks this trade doesn't reflect well on Harris and Branch.

    www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/dave-hyde-blog/fl-sp-hyde5-quinn-trade-20180303-story.html

"Charles Harris hasn’t impressed the Dolphins. Why else go out and get another high-priced right defensive end? Harris had two sacks and 19 tackles as a rookie. You’d expect a good step forward in his second year, and coach Adam Gase said he’d compete for a starting job a few days ago. Andre Branch’s three-year, $24 million deal looked like a bridge to Harris ramping up to an NFL player. Now it appears Quinn is locked in long-term as the starter and Harris is his backup. Or Branch is. Or Branch most likely returns to left defensive end to back up Cameron Wake. Or something."

I think Quinn is a good move. I don't think Branch sucks. He played injured last year...and not very good. That is different from being a horrible player. He works hard, he prepares well, he's a solid guy...What no one is talking about that I think is going to happen is Wake getting cut. Quinn replaces Wake.

Cutting Wake, James, Timmons, and Thomas save us $29 million dollars in cap space. That leaves us $22 million under the cap...That is really all we can do under the cap as regards to real savings, unless we do something with Suh's contract...Suh>Wake. Trading Landry will save us 15 million, so that's ~37 million dollars to upgrade the oline, get a backup QB, get some LB depth, find a third down WR, and sign our draft picks.

So on the Dline (at end) I think we have Quinn, Harris, Branch, Hayes, and whatever rookies we can draft. I still like Duke Ejiofor if he's there in the third round. But the scouts will find a player that can contribute--that's their job.

Next year, we'll see if Branch was worth keeping around. If not, we can part ways with little liability. If he's solid, we can do the William Hayes thing--make him a situational player.
