Excuse my ignorance, but does this mean we are stuck with James for one year at 9.3 million or is he likely to restructure and reduce the cap hit?
Good, losing him would have been awful. We can't afford to keep rebuilding the O Line. At some point we need to build some chemistry with it.
Well as long as they restructure and lower this number, then I am good with it. Now we need some guards. What do you all think about Josh Sitton or Senio Kelemete? I believe they are both free agents still.
What is our money situation now that we've signed both Wilson and Amendola? Like how much is left for free agency? Who can we realistically afford?
If we restructure and extend him, then I would be hoping for somewhere around 6 mil a year. I think someone on this board somewhere may have mentioned that at 9.3 mil he would be the 3rd highest paid right tackle in the league. That just feels too high for me and not sure if his production matches that pay scale. To be fair, I have not researched where he ranks from a production standpoint amongst other Right Tackles.
In the top 15-20 range. He improved quite a bit from his first few years when we implemented more short, dish sets in '16 as opposed to vertical sets where he had a bad habit of over and under setting.
