I saw on NFL network that the Dolphins had a private workout with Baker today. Any reports out there? Never mind, here's one anyway, http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/barry-jackson/article206288029.html Nothing really about how things went, but I guess that's to be expected.
I think RT will play really well this season. And I would love to have one of the defensive studs that would surely fall to us at #11. But....I just can't help but want Baker on my team. And I see nothing wrong with doubling down on 2 potentially good QB's.
I've reached the point where I'm not against us drafting Mayfield but would be wary of trading up to go and get him. We had enough gaps in our team that we need all the picks that we can get our hands on and not be giving them away. Whilst it wouldn't shock me if we did trade up for Mayfield, does it almost feel like we're being too open in our interest? Also to me it seems odd that we'd get rid of players for personality problems only to draft Mayfield though, who has been labelled with having maturity problems.
I agree about the not trading up. If he's there at 11 you snatch him up. If he's not, Vea, Fitz, Edmunds, Ro Smith, Ward, Davenport, James, Jackson, Payne....I'm not saying I'm for all of these guys, but there is most certainly an argument to be made that any of them would be ideal for Miami.
velocity wise at the combine allen's was best ever since they started tracking it... Mayfield's was 5th shoots more holes in any lacks arm argument
That’s interesting. “Passes tend to float when he can’t set his feet” Yep. “Strict timing based offenses not a fit”. I’d say miamis a pretty heavy timing based offense. at least with tannehill we are.
I really want them to stop the run with #11 pick. Especially with the talent available. And I really don't see a lot of separation between Mayfield and Falk and King and Randolph and others who will be just as good in the 2nd 3rd and fifth rds. Best case scenario, Mayfield is there at 11 and we can trade for a couple more picks in the first three rounds.
HUGE!?!? You really think so? The eye in the sky don't lie. Kids a baller thru and thru. 6'4 228. And a genuinely great guy. I think it's a joke he isn't being talked about with the other "top" QBs. He's better than 3 of the "top five" of them I think. I'd take him over any of them, but Rosen, Darnold and Mayfield all have red flags that make me say no thanks. I'd rather have any of them than Arsewiper tho. https://wsucougars.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=3660 WSU CAREER CAREER: Three-time All-Pac-12 Conference selection…won Burlsworth Trophy, given to the nation’s top former walk-on…four-year letterwinner…appeared in 43 games, 40 as a starter…set WSU record with 27 wins…set Pac-12 Conference and WSU career records for passing yards (14,496), total offense (14,086), passing touchdowns (119), pass completions (357), pass attempts (534) and total plays (2,306)…WSU records with six Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week Awards, 30 300-yard games and a 66.9 career completion percentage…went 4-0 against Oregon State and 3-0 against Oregon…owns WSU record with seven career fourth-quarter comeback wins…three-time Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention…earned degree in social sciences in Spring, 2017.
Falk took a beating in college I watched the Washington tape I think it was and it was basically meet me at the qb Reminded me of a few years there for tannehill.
Yeah, how I'm feeling now? ....eff it. Lets just draft Lamar Jackson, have a beer and have a good time.
And he's erratic. Look when he was throwing at the combine...half of his passes were uncatchable, not just off the mark. No thanks on Falk.
