I haven't met a lot of celebs in person. No young ones, to the best of my memory. John Corbett is from my hometown, and I've met him a few times. The last one, he was dating Bo Derek and they were hanging out in a bar while my friends and I played pool. She was only about 45 at the time, but looked a lot older. He's a really cool dude though. Really seems like the same down to Earth guy he usually portrays.
I'd have to say the exact opposite. I've meet or run into a number of actors/actresses. I can't recall one that looked better in real life. And most looked considerably worse. One time Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz came to a base I was stationed at. I always thought Penelope was very attractive and of course Tom's a good looking guy (or so every woman I've ever met has said). However, in real life Penelope was still attractive, but not like on TV and Tom was a scrawny little dude with a lot of wrinkles. Also, in college I did an internship at Disney World and meet/saw a lot of celebrities. I meet Sly Stone at Planet Hollywood. He's really odd looking in real life. I mean, he is on TV too, but he's REALLY funny looking in real life.
Stylistically I liked it and thought the music was on point. The writing seemed very amateur and the premise felt kinda generic.
Season 1 of McMafia was darn addicting. Not the same network but it's a nice replacement for The Americans which ends this year.
Enjoying it through the first 5 thus far. Keep forgetting to get started on Counterpart with J.K. Simmons.
How about last night's episode? Barbershop. Bibby's summary of the day was great, they tag teamed that woman in the Honda lol!
Yea that last episode was just weird. I was hoping a Darius episode would be filled with some weird funny ****.
It's quirky, based on a true story, and is a fun watch. Brendan Frazier is amusing and fairly good in it.
Yes, have watched the 1st episode 3 times already. Lol... Really compelling show. Can't wait to watch them all if they're going to be this interesting. Spoiler Notes: - The assassin is pretty but has an un-toned appearing body. Flabby arms and legs and while slender, thick waisted. That's about the only knock I really have on her. He eyes are always glassy and have an empty look. Not sure if that's intentional for the character of Villanelle, or just interesting casting. - Appreciated them using Satie's Gnossienne #3 for the music in the Paris flat where she was fkn with her boss and faked her death. - Small thing that bothered me was when she pulled the hairpin/needle thing from her hair, it was facing the wrong way in her fist to stab the old man in the eye. She would've hit him with the bottom of her fist with the needle facing her the way she was holding it. They should've shown her twirling it in her hand, maybe made a show of it to capture the old man's attention first... - Another was how the fook she zipped herself up in the suitcase - and so quickly when the guard first walked into the room. - Funniest line was when she told the kid to stay quiet or she'd kill him to. That cracked me up as he didn't realize she was serious. - Loved the fact that instead of her being discreet and "making it look like a suicide" at the hospital, she killed everyone in the room as a Fk you to her bosses for scolding her. Not professional in the least, but as Eve said, "she's showing off".
The Expanse Season 3 has started, not had a chance to watch the first episode yet since I need to find a "site" to "watch" it on since its not out over here yet but really enjoyed the 2 season so far
Episode 2 was just as outstanding. I absolutely love the antagonist. She's downright awesome. Easily atop my list of shows right now. It's crack! I need more fix ASAP man!!
No one else watching 'Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and Biggie'? This is good tv. It's by the people who did American Crime Story: the People vs OJ (which was outstanding). Great cast. About as well done as you could ask. Really good police drama in and of itself that stacks up against anything.
anyone watching the new "Lost in Space" on Netflix? Didn't have high expectations, but have been impressed 3 episodes in.
It looks good. My wife and I were just saying that if we end up getting a Netflix account later this year, it's one well watch.
Not yet. let me know what you think when the season is over and I'll jump into it. Incidentally, Killing Eve is hands down the best new show on TV. Nothing else around piles as much into a show as this IMO. Crime, comedy, drama, suspense, mystery, phenomenal characters, outstanding script, originality, antagonist that you wanna marry but at the same time are scared to death of her slitting your throat in your sleep. She draws you in like Dexter Morgan even though she's not even a main focal character.
Westworld Season 2 , ****ing confused. Looks stunning and I would do bad things to Thandie Newton so i will deal with the confusion while reading reddit so others can work it out for me
Yeah, I am torn a bit. Parker Posey is hella distracting - she just looks and acts ... weird as ****. Plus, I dislike the "secret interloper" trope that she plays and the fact that every episode seems to feel the need to put literally every character into some life and death situation with a deus ex machina out at the last moment. Have you seen Season 1 and - if confused by that - gone through some supplementary reading to make some more sense of it? If you come in without that, yeah it's gonna be a trainwreck. It's hella fun though, it was made for conspiracy enthusiasts and home detectives to try and piece things together. I09 had a good recap of season one and they have some good discussions to follow.
yeah watched season 1 but it was nearly 15 months ago, rewatched the last 2 episodes and then SE01E01 again yesterday and following it better. Utterly epic and compelling viewing though, by far the best scripted TV show at the moment.
Really enjoying The City and the City on BBC, definitely one you have to concentrate on as the premise and setting is very confusing (2 cities that exist in the same place but residents are trained to not see and ignore each other) if you don't pay attention. Definitely not one to turn your brain off to watch, but rewarding if you stick with it. Only 4 episodes, and I've only watched the first 2, so reserve the right to change my mind and call it a mess if it fizzles out! The Walking Dead's Governor, David Morrisey, stars in the show that's based on a sci-fi novel by China Mieville.
I’ve watched te first two seasons now...it’s basically oceans 11 meets Prison Break. It seems to be more popular outside the US but whatever, it’s a freaking awesome show. Season 3 scheduled for 2019.
I'm excited that two of the only shows I watch have already been renewed for the fall - The Good Place and The Orville, and Agents of Shield hasn't been cancelled yet, so there's still hope. Crossing my fingers!
I do enjoy the Orville. Been desperate to find some new SciFi on Netflix now that I finished Lost in Space. Started watching an older show - Dark Matter. Above average sci-fi with average actors. Good enough to just keep watching, but not good enough to thrilll me.
