Never seemed to meet expectations. From what I read has speed, not good blocker and had like only 9 catches last year in 13 games. Might fill a hole but some injuries effected him and don't know if he can get back. ( still need in Draft )
Figured being an X- Cane people want to know... Wonder if he meets the "locker room" status we seem to be so interested in....lol

Heard he was in town but he's a Miami guy...

Where did you read that he wasn't a good blocker? That's about the only thing the kid does right.

Just input from other Raider fans who actually saw all the games. Personally I never watched him as a pro and agree that I made a statement I shouldn't have because I wasn't sure of the validity of that evaluation.
But overall impression from his fans were after the first year he regressed significantly to were the release isn't unexpected by his fans.
He had it once whether its still there or he can get it back seems to be the million dollar question.

I’m not sure Clive has shown the ability to read coverage and leverage as a pro.

Although I’m not sure Oakland uses a lot of that either.

Sit vs zone carry vs man etc.

Problem is I could see miami signing this guy and annointing him plan a even and skipping it on day 2 of the draft

Relying on scheme driven production at the position.

No thanks, we've had enough of our reclamation project experiments at TE with jordan and thomas. If he doesnt have it now, we should not expect that he is going to come to miami and suddenly find it. Let's pass and draft one of the top tight ends in the draft like Andrews, Gaodert or Gesicki

Walford would be a very good addition. His problems do not come from lack of any particular trait or skill, but rather that he may have permanently lost athleticism and strength following a bad ATV accident that destroyed his knee.

You don't make any sense. You say he may have permanently lost his athleticism and strength due to an accident yet you think he would be "a very good addition"?

"may" is you key word there. He would be a good addition with a possible risk attached.

Yeah, it was the same story with Jordan Cameron, he "may" have recovered from his concussions and regained his pro bowl form, or Julius Thomas "may" have recovered from his back injury and returned to pro bowl form as well. Both complete failures, no thanks.

Lets stop trying to fix the TE issue with reclamation projects and lets actually draft and develop a great one ourselves. The only good tight ends we have had in the last two decades were guys we drafted (mcmichael and clay). You have to go back to Kieth Jackson in the early 90s to find a case of us getting a good TE in free agency.

    TE's OL' LB's, DB's..
Reclamation has been the architectural process for the Fins for years Thats What They DO ! With the addition here and there of the occasional high priced star. Look at the line of hasbeens brought in for the OL for the last many years. Last couple years of LBrs brought in. All inexpensive hopeful at best finger crossing backups.

Shocked when they signed Sitton an actual no mistake quality OL.

This team is not going very far and if they are thinking playoffs again this year we will be even more years away... Walford another hole filler with the same questions of whats in his tank and is he cheap enough to gamble on...Would be a wise move IF we had a FO with an actual plan and ability to evaluate but years of ground hog day has proven we don't. I keep hoping for a change and see little movements to feel maybe they are getting it but then shortly realize they don't.....Gase included***....

They need to have a schedule of minimum 2-3 years for being a legitimate contender in which draft and FA are picked with this basic understanding a must. And not like you have expressed a continuation of the reclamation project..... But sadly jobs are dependent on it so the crap will just stay the same.

Nothing new same ole stuff we've all witnessed for decades...

    *** Gase included:

    His statement on OL....

“I'm just glad I don't have to hear about guard play for a while,” Gase joked here Tuesday.

Ya it just might extend your time here as a HC . We are glad to see its only taken pressure and 3 years for you to get it..which still is questionable after that remark....

He's only been in Miami for two years though- you're acting like he can just walk in the door, fire 35 players and instantly replace them with Pro-Bowl material. If it were that easy then every coach would win the Super Bowl every year.

Gase is entering his 3rd year and we've had two excellent drafts under him. People want to pretend that 2017 was all Gase's fault (like he summoned the hurricane and kicked Tannehill in the knee...), yet he took Philbin's completely broken roster with no line to speak of and made a solid 10-6 team out of it in 2016 (without their best defender in Reshad Jones, nonetheless).

Plain and simple, this team has played to their potential two years in a row with what they've had to work with. We couldn't release Suh earlier than this season without really getting slaughtered in cap space, so I'm really not sure what people expected him to do. Short of bringing in a voodoo priestess or a dark wizard, there haven't been too many other options to improve this team when you have zero money to spend.

In my opinion, losing Landry is 100% a non-factor...he will not be missed for a single second because he made very few game-changing plays that a typical slot receiver can't match. Not a Pro Bowl slot guy mind you....but an average one. Suh just wasn't a difference maker either because we couldn't afford a LB corp behind him- so I don't think he will be drastically missed either. Every move we've made this off-season has been smart and has made us a better football team, even with signings like Osweiller to challenge 2nd and 3rd stringers.

And you're right, we don't have an awesome TE. We have missed on some LB's. But we're entering year three and it's the first time EVER Gase had a few bucks to spend bringing in the team he wants on the field.

Here's one more tidbit to think about- what is Gase's Miami record when he has his starting QB and all 5 starting linemen on the field? Any guesses? I'll help you out- he's 6-0. That's 6 out of 32 games he had the offensive pieces he wanted and the man is undefeated with them on the field. So folks can rant all the want about how horrible we are or how many holes still exist, yet we haven't lost a single game when we 100% do it Gase's way.

    Just food for thought.

Yeah, he was not the answer, we need to draft a top tight end like a fish needs water.

He was "an" answer to the question, "How can Miami improve their tight end situation?"
