Have to ask because with a new HC, Backroom staff and alot of new players which will bring a new attitude im wondering if we wont see so many empty seats this season? Plus if we fill more seats we wont have to hear the Patsies and Jets fans on our own soil.

Well to the Pats and Jets point, there's always gonna be a chowda head and/or transplant New Yowka who will overpay to see his team. Season ticket holders know this and always wanna make an easy buck.

I expect attendance to be very good overall this year. Theres a buzz right now and as long as the Phins have a decent start season ticket holders will be more apt to goto the games instead of selling their seats every week.

I hope so, I know that a lot of season ticket holders will get good money for the opening game for us (Favre's first game as a Jet and all) so we may see more gang green in the stadium than we'd like to see...

Unfortunately I think more than half, and I hope it doesn't affect the team. We don't need them thinking they are the enemy in their own stadium.

Meh, I dont know about more than half. Alot though. I know most of my friends that have season tickets are attending the game instead of selling their tix. And even if there are alot, more the better if/when we win the game

There's a lot more going on in the world right now which will affect attendance than just whether people will be excited about this team with a new staff.

You've got an economy and a housing market which have negatively affected many people. I know for a fact that Season Tix sold are down because of this.

It will be on Sunday September 7th when me and 7 friends go down there to get rowdy, celebrate a Dolphins win, and talk about it non-stop to any Jets fan we find!

    Go Dolphins!

Yeah, but most of the people who own season tix dont have to worry about those things. I hear the same excuse for Marlins games not being attended.

In South Florida there are enough Dolphins fans with money who will attend if the product on the field is good enough.

Ever been to a Phins/Jets game?

Be careful. Ive nearly been in a few dust ups over the years. The alcohol starts flowing, Jets fans remember their franchise has a losing record, you bring up the "Spike Play" game and the **** hits the fan. Good times :hi5:

The economy will certainly affect attendance, but people love a turnaround, and when you've been as down as we have for this long, the optimism will start putting people in the seats, IMHO.

    Not exactly true brother.

Many fans make sacrifices to spend the amount of money it takes to pay for season tix. Some simply can't make that sacrifice this year. As I said, I know for a fact that tix sales are down because of this.

These games are definitely the most charged atmosphere from a crowd perspective. There is a lot of animosity in the air and some years have more action in the stands than there is on the field itself. The only more obnoxious and willingly violent fan group than the Jets I've ever seen in our stadium were the Eagles fans. That group was as classless as they come.

Went to that Eagles PrimeTime game. They were ridiculous. My friend got into it with a guy. It's almost as if we weren't allowed to cheer when our team did well, in our home stadium. We let him know. He grabbed my friend. He was a middle aged man with 3 other friends. It was myself and 7 other young bucks. We let him know in a very mild mannered way that numbers weren't in his favor.

Beating the Jets in the opener will increase our fan turnout significantly. Fans hate taking the walk of shame 8 times per season. They want to be able to walk back to their cars while laughing at the opposing team's fans for making the trip. I hate driving down to Miami, only to be ridiculed by the opposing teams fans in our own stadium. But if we beat the Jets, I think our attendance for the season takes a significant boost.

I agree. I know quite a few people who attend two or three home games a year, but don't ever buy season tickets. They sat last year out.

last season i drove down from Palm Coast to Miami (4 hours each way) to see the Cowboys and Patriots games. I felt like I was at an away game at both. Made me sick.

Well if there are any high salary marketing jobs available, i would fill one seat for the next 50 seasons

But the game vs the chiefs looked more full. I bet there will be some significant fans comming back if they keep playing the way they have in the preseason

As I was reading through the thread, I noticed someone talking about season ticket holders selling their tickets to opposing teams fans, I gotta tell you, there is NO WAY in hell that I would sell my season tickets to the opposing teams fans, I'd give them to a needy child first!! I'm sure there are plenty of needy children, or families, that would love to be able to go to a DOLPHINS game.

All I know is that there is no way there were even 30,000 people at that stadium for the KC game, and they had the gall to announce a sell-out and attendance of over 60,000 people. If I had to guess I would probably say around 15,000 people.

Do they think we are blind, stupid or both?

I undertsand that the Dolphins (and league, and TV broadcasters) find it embarassing to show empty-looking stadiums while trying to convince us their product is the elite ticket in sports, but don't outright LIE to us.

Shame on whoever comes up with those outright lies as figures to release to the press.

That was me bro. And yeah, it happens quite a bit. Unfortunately alot of season ticket holders aren't Dolphins fans. And the $ is an All-Mighty powerful thing. Every year I see Jets and Pats fans shell out WAY over face to come to the games (not Bills fans they never have money).

In fact, I know a guy who sits in Sec, 114 who is a Jets fan. He comes to every game and roots for whichever team the Phins are playing (used to wear a Pennington jersey prolly has a Favre now).

Its sad, yes. But when you're located in a transplanted area like South Florida **** like this is gonna happen.

I always ask New Yorkers down here, "You guys get beaches and beautiful weather up there yet?" The answer is no every time

Yep. Pretty sad. Theres quite a few Jets/Pats/Bills fans who own season tix just to goto that one game and sell the rest to turn a profit.

Look at it this way, the Jets fans who attend that 1st game may not get the final results they are looking for. They may go back home with a sence of gloom and dispair.
Maybe not, but it would sure be great if it happened. Sure would let the air out of their new improved Jets balloon.
Our expectations for the Dolphins are not that high but the Jets fans expectations are sky high.

I have never understood this traitorous action. You just don't use them, but don't sell them to fans you know are going to root against the Dolphins. That is just outright war on other DolFans.

I agree, they have drunk the Kool-Aid and have ideas of "superbowls" dancing in their heads. They will be improved for sure, but they are not a Super Bowl caliber team.

I will not give us fans any credit before we have earned it and until we get off our asses and change our own identity as a fan base we will suck, no homefield advantage hurts our football team.

Iam sure with the jets opener it will be disgraceful, jet fans will be coming in droves to see Brett in his first game. i can only hope we dont show our *** as fans
