Taking a look at our roster...trying to see who right now could be on the bubble pre-draft.

Leonte Carroo's name jumps out. I just read that the Saints just resigned Brandon Coleman from Rutgers. An UDFA from 2014, last year had 23 catches and 3 TDs.

Maybe William Hayes if Cameron Malveaux comes on strong...unless they could trade Branch (which I doubt, with that contract). The only other two are possibly Asiata or Larsen.

    Am I missing anyone?

I would say asiata is the one the most in the microscope going into camp

Ya know I would hope some team out there had a decently high grade in Carroo besides us and might wanna give us a 5th for him..

He’s so easy trade bait for me...I’ll take a 6th

At this point, who would give anything for Carroo? There are UDFA with far more production. Our only hope is that the light comes on and he can find chemistry with RT and gain the coaches trust. Right now, he's a huge bust. And I resisted calling him that. I thought he should at least get a couple of seasons...but its been a major disappointment.

Carroo is definitely in a pickle. We know he is working his butt off, but so are the other guys (except for maybe Parker, ;-) ). He sort of reminds me of Matthews who seems to be doing well with the Titans.

But Matthews was productive...I am giving Carroo partial pass, because the entire offense last year was warmed over c...p. So, I get it, its hard for a younger WR to gain the confidence of the QB when the entire offense is struggling. But this camp is HUGE for him. He needs to be in great shape and run great routes. There is an opportunity for him now, and long term if he gets his act together.

We know Parker is probably going to miss time...its just a way of life with him...Carroo, or one of these new guys can really endear themselves to the QB.

I know we really don’t know what we have, but I am excited about our speed package( Grant, Stills, and Wilson). IMO, If Carroo is playing then something went wrong.

Still mad that we wasted a bunch of picks for Caroo.

It's the exact opposite of how one conducts a successful draft. Quantity is far more valuable than trading back up, especially in the middle rounds. It's what the most successful teams do. New England averages like 9+ picks per draft. Pitt over 7.

yes but back predraft all gms have their grades on players..so to hope one might think he got lost in the shuffle, just not the right fit, and they had a good grade on the player, might not be out of line thinking..

I think their being stubborn on him because of what they gave up..

but with Watson..Stills..Jakeem...Parker..Amemdola, all assured spots, you would think they would be on the phone with every front office seeing if other GMs had a high grade on carooo when he came out and see if they would be willing to give up a fifth or sixth.

I still believe Drew Morgan is the last guy who should make it if we keep 6.

I probably am guilty of being a homer, but I think we have some young guys that could take the next step. And, I suppose it doesn't REALLY matter as long as someone is catching the ball and moving the chains, but I'm intrigued with Isaiah Ford and Rashawn Scott.

Agree 100% about Matthews. He was productive whenever he was given a chance, it’s just that Philbin didn’t recognize it and kept him on the bench behind less productive players. No wonder he leftMiami behinf him as soon as he could.
Carroo has flashed some ability, but nowhere near as consistently as Matthews.

The real draft tragedy isn’t the picks spent on Carroo. The real tragedy is we had Matthews on the roster and if we had managed his playing time and salary right we would never have needed to spend draft capital on him at all in th first olace.

He built one heck of a defense! And if Wanny had a shred of skill as a GM, he could have built enough of an offense to be a very dangerous team.

Its really just about getting good players. You think anyone else the Patriots got the year they drafted Brady mattered?

    Grade this class:

    Adrian Klemm, OL, Hawaii
3 J.R. Redmond, RB, Arizona State
4 Greg Robinson-Randall, OT, Michigan State
5 Dave Stachelski, TE, Boise State
    5 Jeff Marriott, DE, Missouri
    6 Antwan Harris, CB, Virginia
    6 Tom Brady, QB, Michigan
    6 David Nugent, DL, Purdue
7 Casey Tisdale, LB, New Mexico
    7 Patrick Pass, RB, Georgia

    Its a whopping A+.

Point is, you do all the best research you can, and sometime you get lucky. Sometimes you don't. And whoever was the best GM in the league in that year, didn't do as well as this *** clown who drafted Brady with the Pats THIRD pick in the sixth round.

Or a coach. Who would have thought running Ricky into a wall 50 times a game wouldn't work out!?!?!?
