But you keep changing things. Others here have said RT is a top 10 QB and you don't agree. That's fine. But the bar to prove that one right is the entire offense being in the top 3? That's some warped math. Likewise, Tannehill is not being paid $100M- he's 24th against salary cap this season out of all QB's or 13th if you count his bonus before the restructure. The 13th highest paid but he has to be top 3 or bust? That's just silly. If you want to rant over Gase, that's fine too. But you're delusional if you didn't see the turnaround in 2016 with zero starting-caliber linemen on the field. You're also delusional if you think that losing your starting QB in preseason doesn't matter...or it doesn't matter if a hurricane wrecks your city and you have one of the longest road trips in the history of the NFL. Those things do matter and they drastically changed our projection last season. I don't think it's "low expectations" to have a top-10 or even a top-15 squad on the field. I think we will be better than that on defense, and the offense all comes down to Tannehill's knee. We didn't draft a QB at all so I think he's fine...and I think we will be in that top 10. But even if we're not, the true gauge is always wins. If we get 10+ then the rest doesn't matter no matter how hard you try to twist things.
Well the last time we saw Tannehill on the field he was sure playing like a top 10 QB. I'm hoping that he spent a lot of time in the playbook while he was rehabbing so he can pick up where he left off.
I don't care what your expectations are, as long as they're reasonable. People love to spout off unreasonable expectations, then rant when they aren't met.
The thing is, we have more offensive weapons than ever before, the best line we've seen in over a decade, and a fired-up RT who's dying to prove his worth. I wouldn't be shocked if we were a top-five offense or even the best offense in the league if everything clicks PERFECTLY. We know it won't though and honestly, it really doesn't matter either way. We should have a great running game. We have tons of speed and dual threat receivers. We will score points and a much faster defense means we should have a stronger chance at lower scoring games. That should translate to wins.
While I salute your flaming skills, it looks like your reading skills aren't quite up to par since my very next sentence was- But hey, flame on...and double down on that Hooked on Phonics course! The words will come to you eventually!
