Wow, Dan Campbell who only coached 12 games for us as an interim ranks as our 4th best coach? Wanny at 3? Lol
so they include multiple coaches who were interim and had only a few games, but they don't include Gase? useless article.
I am thinking he doesn't have gase because we don't know what he is yet. This will be a telling year for gase.
LOL, he did coach more than Campbell's half-season. Since he's one of four coaches on that list that have taken us to the playoffs, he has to be in the top four by default. I'd say he's a lock at #3 for now and a couple of playoff wins gets him to #2.
No, I get that. my point was that if you're going to write the article, man-up and put an opinion out there - whether it's pro or anti-Gase.
He was 15-17 as an NFL coach and walked on the team on one day's notice to coach Alabama. I would rate him dead last of our head coaches.
Wannstadt inherited a talented and loaded team and ran it into the ground. No way he deserves #3. The only guy he possibly beats out is Cam Cameron. I think it is inherently ubfair to include interim coaches on the list, but my listof interim coaches would be Bates Bowles Campbell. Campbell appeared to me as a good motivator but not schematically smart enough to be a HC. I’d also rate George Wilson higher because he built a base the Don could use, even if he wasn’t in Don’s league as a coach. Compare that to the roster messes left behind by Wannstadt and Philbin.
