I didn't know that it existed. I saw Unbreakable as soon as it came out on vhs (yes vhs), and I don't know that I've seen any of his movies since.

I thought Unbreakable was one of the most beautiful shot movies I have seen at the time. It was also boring as ****!

Coming from someone who thinks comic book movies are getting pretty watered down, Venom and Mr Glass sure have strong potential.

Unbreakable and Split were both great. I might go to the theaters to see this one.

Even though I am not the biggest fan of Unbreakable and I haven't seen Split, the trailer got me interested.

Also in kind of related movie news, the trailer to Aquaman was fun.

I've always been more of a fan of the villains than the heroes. So, Venom and Glass are right up my alley. That extended Venom trailer looks pretty good.

I watched the newest Kingsman movie. It's entertaining but you watch them once and you never want to see them again.

I loved the first Kingsman. It was also a movie I re-watched and enjoyed when it came out on DVD/streaming. But I was disappointed with the second one and don't plan to re-watch it.

I've never seen Split, but the new trailer got me interested enough that I will check Split out. I did enjoy Unbreakable. I didn't love it or own it, but I liked it well enough.

Aquaman and Shazam looked fun. I didn't know much about Shazam, but it seems to focus on what it would be like for a kid to suddenly get super powers. Kind of like what would happen if "Big" and "Superman" had a baby.

Just watched 'Mississippi Burning,' I'd seen it several times before. An intense drama for sure. My Dad went to high school in Miami with a girl who's Uncle owned the property in MS, where the civil rights workers bodies were found. From what I understand, he wasn't involved in the crime.

    I love Unbreakable.

Watched "You Were Never Really Here" with Joachin over the weekend. Depressing, slow, and didn't show enough violence. That being said, pretty unique, and deals with some strange PTSD issues. Watch it free.

Also saw Isle of Dogs. It was good, not great. The dogs were kind of creepy. Art design was spot on, which is typically the case for Wes Anderson movies.

It was more of the same, but with an American twist. And Oberon Martell cosplaying as Burt Reynolds. Wife made me watch both, and by God they are terrible. Entertaining but just terrible.

Just saw Ready Player One as well. Fun. Not great, but if you are in your late 20's through mid/late 40's, the nostalgia should get you. Nice soundtrack, cool portrayal of a digital world.

A little bit of catch up here.

Some pretty recent movies, some not so much but I appreciate others giving their toughts about movies they have watched. I find if someone really likes something I also did it usuall is a good reason to watch something else they quite liked ( music as well ) .

Spotlight of course was a noted movie but I had not seen it, very very good, the story, acting and pace was really good.

Borg versus McEnroe I loved. Part was because I recall watching that match but the story was done well, the actor playing Borg looks so much like him and Bjorn's son plays his father as a child, that was cool too.

Saw The Pink House, it was good but kind of predictable nothing really grabbed me as I hoped. Still a good movie and worth watching if you like story based flicks as opposed to sci fi or big explosions, which is my preferance.

Chappaquiddick again because I recall the story resonates maybe more than if you are not old enough to have during that time. Liked it a lot, hard to not think how different that event would have been if it happened today.

Lean On Pete is a touching story about a teenage boy who's life is pretty tough and the actor playing the lead is fantastic. Steve Buscemi is strong in it as well. Would recommend this for those who want to watch a quality movie with their kids ( age relative ) that isn't just fluff.

Spinning Man has 2 actors I seem to like to watch, Pierce Prosnan and Guy Pearce. I probably liked it more than it deserved although I would say it is worth watching. Liked how Brosnan has moved in some roles to not the leading man, heart throb.

The Catcher Was A Spy has Paul Rudd as a former MLB player in a real life story who is brilliant and becomes a spy in WW2. Has good time period parts and while not a superior drama it is good.

Love Simon I would say again if you have teens a very good movie to watch together. Poignant and well done about coming out, quiet but it resonates well.

Watched the tv series Happy Valley. The first two seasons are out and the final one is due this year. It is a BBC show and I never watched before because the title made me dismiss it. It really has nothing to do with the show except it takes place in an area that is in a valley it seems. A drama about the lives of those in the story but predominantly a female police officer, her grandson who she and her sister are the family after a series of very unfortunate events.

While she is a police officer I would not say it is a crime drama, more that is part or central to the characters and what happens in the show. How people and events influence their lives is the core and it is so well done and acted. Really would encourage people to watch if any of those things intrigue you.

Tag (2018)- I give it a 5 out of 10. I knew it was going to be silly (grownups playing tag). Exactly what I expected.

Mom and Dad (2018) - 7 out of 10. Weird and funny. A chemical spill that causes every parent to brutally murder their children. I felt bad laughing at kids being murdered.

Circle (2015)- 5 out of 10. With a better ending, I would have given it a 6. Thirty people trapped in a circle...the group must vote to kill one person every 2 minutes or someone will be randomly killed instead. Race, age, jobs, economic status all play a factor. Kept me interested to see who would last the longest.

Traffik (2018) - 5 out of 10. It was blah. About human trafficking.

Extinction (2018) - 5 out of 10. Saw this today. I was going to turn this movie off and give it a 3/10, but then an unexpected twist happened. I like twists.

Took my kids to see Teen Titans Go. It was fun. Very much in keeping with the tv show, but still enjoyable for 90 minutes. Silly, sometimes stupid, but that's their thing. Much, much better than Hotel Transylvania 3, and I would say as enjoyable as incredible 2, even if the production quality from Pixar is much higher.

Saw Equalizer 2 last night. Good action, but too predictable. They tried to do a twist, but it was so obvious. Overall, I'll give it a 6 out of 10.

I watched Teen Titans Go! by myself.

It was a fine movie. A lot of fun deep cuts, and some laugh out loud moments. However, if you are not a fan of the show or you do not have kids, it is worth waiting to rent it.

Upgrade (2018) - 8 out of 10. Good storyline, nice effects, and good action. What's not to like?

The First Purge (2018) - 6 out of 10. Not as good as the first 3 Purge movies, but it was okay.

Calibre (2018) - 7 out of 10. I watched this movie based on a recommendation from this thread. I was not disappointed. Good suspense.

I watched Jason Bourne last night. Definitely a drop off not only from the earlier Matt Damon ones, but the Jeremy Renner one too. The writing was mediocre, and unlike the others, he didn't seem nearly as clever or resourceful.

On top of that, both of the main actresses gave emotionless, wooden performances. Julia Stiles mailed hers in so badly you'd never know that shed been in Hollywood for 20 years

My family watched A Wrinkle in Time, and man was it awful. The acting and special effects were fine, but even as a family film the story was so remarkably shallow and stupid. The idea is fine, but has zero depth whatsoever. Writing for kids should be better than something written BY kids, lol.

Watched "The Secret Scripture" with Eric Bana, about a woman being thrown into a mental asylym in Ireland due to an obsessed priest who couldn't have her, and "Denial" with Rachel Weisz, about a Hitler apologist who claimed the Holocaust never occurred and brought suite in England against an American educator. True story from events about a decade ago.
