Gesecki beat Mink twice in the end zone today, both times Mink had excellent coverage.. This is the best case scenario, Every other defender applies in getting beat unless your 6’4 covering Gesicki one on one in the end zone.. Something I don’t think ryan is getting credit for, and something I saw with my own eyes, is he’s placing the ball in that relative radius I talked about the other day..Maybe we found a sweet spot for Ryan.. Also, would like to just say when I studied Mink in college, I saw elite corner skills..just saying. I posted this because going into galants thread where there is updates is rough on the ole loading function.
Always a funny catch 22 in camp. When you hear of one player making a good play, it means another one of our players made a bad play.
I like at least that Mink was blanketing him open coverage on one of the tds. Gesicki says just throw it up because no one else on the field can get Higher...end quote. Relatively speaking there is a section of his catch radius that is unstoppable..with Ryan being an innately accurate qb he seems like he knows how to find that sweet spot.
It's encouraging as the LB position to me is the most interesting group the year. Hard to say if they are going to be a solid unit or not...lots of questions so hearing good things about ANY of them is good to me.
I sad after practice last week I thought Raekwon was in his own head, let’s hope he pops out when it time to hit people.
In general or in coverage? I've made it no secret my concerns with him in coverage. Hoping I'm wrong but I'm concerned. As far as Baker, i think he will take some time to figure things out. He has a ton of athletic ability, but at times he was kind of just out there at Ohio State. Wouldn't shock me for him to be a solid ST guy as a rookie who can contribute SOME on passing downs. Both of those guy's are hard workers however. The determination and want to, to be better can get them up a notch. Excited to watch them grow.
On both actually, he just wasn’t making his presence known, on the field, or verbally.. Personally I don’t think at this point he’s playing instinctively, I think he’s just running to his spot.
Kiko is more than adequate when he only has to worry about his own assignment. The ladt 2 years he was trying to cover for 2 or 3 LBs.
Yeah, I hear ya' on Mink. I'm not worried. It's just funny. Yeah, that's all you can really ask for against a tall TE in the red zone. Maybe you get lucky and get a hand on a ball. Gesicki quote: Yeah, brotha' You know I'm digging the sound of that one.
Jakeem Grant has his confidence, I look for a breakout year.. Flawless technique on punt return, Rizzi really is a great coach..
I realize some passes are indefensible, but it will be interesting to see if Fitz can figure out how to stop Gesecki. This is good practice. Aren’t we counting on him, along with a couple others, to help shut down ( maybe I should say reduce) the effectiveness opposing TEs have had against us in the past? If anyone can figure it out, Fitz can. The dude studies his *** off.
Congemi, Rose, and Bokamper agree and stated, Ryan tannehill is a beat late on a lot of plays and they are a little concerned.
That's how I see it as well- it's a good problem to have that Fitz struggles against Gesecki or that Tunsil struggles against Wake, Parker against Xavien, etc. We need those tough match-ups to help our better players become elite, so I really don't care who's winning the match-up at any given moment. They are all getting better because the competition levels are so high.
Hopefully it's due to rust and he'll be clicking along with the offense by the start of the regular season. Though it wouldn't surprise me if it took them a couple games for the offense to start rolling. By the way, where'd you see this? Miami Dolphins website?
Very excited thinking about Gesecki vs Fitz. Imagine if we hit on both of these players. Throw in 12 sacks from Harris
