that tannehill kicking out ballage story made me yawn and roll my eyes. Not news worthy, just a quarterback doing what he is suppose to do, holding his players accountable. Some reason thats like earthshattering news in miami whereas other teams have backup qbs doing it. What baffles me is ryan clarks reaction to it on ESPN. Shut the **** up bro.
Somethign along the lines of, “ who the hell are you, youre not tom brady, youre not aaron rodgers, you havent proven anything in this league to act that way to a player”. I am not a big tannehill fan but even ballage didnt have a problem with it so whats ryan clarks problem..
That's the dumbest thing I ever heard! I didn't know anybody had criticized Tannehill for doing what a QB is supposed to do. If anything Tannehill should have done it sooner. Not at Ballage specifically, but at the myriad players making repeated mental mistakes. That's the culture change we needed, less tolerance of people not doing their job. It's been a long time coming, with a ton of lip service. I've seen positive steps since Gase has been here, like players cut or traded who weren't buying in, vets with reputations for being pros, change in priorities in the draft, etc. But it's been slow. Yesterday was the first I'd heard of an individual being made to run after a false start (James). That should have happened way sooner. Tannehill has always been a 'lead by example" guy, which is fine, but sometimes you need to do more. I don't think we can check the culture change box complete yet, but I do think it's moving in the right direction more so than in past regimes who claimed to be doing the same. Here's hoping it continues.
They are saying Parker may miss the opener. If so, it will be interesting to see who we start in his place and if our offense will be better. Not saying Parker has been lighting it up, but he has had his moments and is somewhat of a threat. I mean they can't totally ignore him and do actually have to cover him. I have been on the fence with him and wonder if we should be starting someone else or perhaps even trade him. Not saying we should, but this may be a good moment to see what we have this year without him in the lineup. Hopefully, someone will emerge and just take the job. The guy is a tease and I am getting tired of waiting for the light to come on.
I think we're all done here. Not much else coming down the Twitter feed relating to Camp, so I'm going to stop monitoring it. Onward to the regular season - and may we come through the pre-season games unscathed!
No problem guys. You're welcome! Benefit of being in a distant time zone. Appreciate your thanks though.
What is the difference between training camp and the final three weeks of preseason? I mean, does anything really change in terms of practicing and workouts? I see that we have to be down to 53 by September 1st at 4 PM, which is AFTER all our pre-season games end. So why do they make the distinction of camp ending today?
I believe it is to not let the public in on their actual game plan and small details of their offense and defense
Okay, so they'll start to get more specific then from here on out. I saw the players got to go home today as well- they've been in a hotel room up until this point. So I guess there are some differences.
Real gameplay I gotta starts, they slowly stop trying people out at positions and some players get more reps as final roster spots are made. Bull**** time is over. They have essentuallly 3 weeks to build a contender.
Everything they are doing from this point on is not for public consumption. I believe this is where they start working on specific game plan stuff and prep for the upcoming season. Stuff they don't want the rest of the NFL to see.
