Seems were going to be a little thin at TE with the injury to Marqueis. Mike Gesicki’s is going to get his chances anyway but hopefully he can play a few more snaps than they intended to start him with. The Miami Dolphins shuffled the deck at the tight end position days before the start of the regular season. The Dolphins placed starting tight end MarQueis Gray on injured reserve and signed veteran Gavin Escobar as a corresponding roster move, the team announced Thursday. While the Dolphins did not disclose Gray's injury, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Gray suffered a torn Achilles during Wednesday's practice, via a source informed of the situation. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...ry-roundup-dolphins-place-marqueis-gray-on-ir
Well, like Gase said a few days ago....Gisecki is going to be doing lots of blocking in our first game. LOL
Well the media reports I've seen from a couple of the beat guys have said that he has improved quite a bit from when he first showed up. And that's what I was saying in the draft that's what coaches are supposed to do, ya know, coach.
Lost our best blocking TE, right? Might as well bring in another Tackle and split Gesicki out wide near the goal line. Or the Red Zone. Or always, I don't know. Sorry to lose Gray for the year though. That might be the end of a career for him. Escobar caught a break.
Exactly, as CK pointed out earlier this offseason, Gray is our best move blocker. Hopefully, Smythe can cover for what is a pretty big loss, imo.
