Sometimes you have to trust your receiver. And sometimes you get screwed. And then people complain the rest of the season when you are hesitant to throw balls to receivers where you have to trust them.
I'll judge him by what I've seen so far. He's played well. He threw one upfor his rookie TE who got outplayed, and out muscled by a vet. Kid went to school, got beat. Poor throw, yes, but he played well up to that point, and if Gesicki isn't on the ground, it's likely he can at least help break it up. Kid got schooled, throw was too flat. Playcall was poor. Everyone in the place knew exactly where that was going. Just a combination of bad from more than just Tannehill.
The sky outside my apartment in Doral has turned as black as the night. We could be here for a while, fellas.
Who is watching? I was with my wife and 6 month old, left early and now the dallas game is on local tv instead of MIA. wtf is going on? where can i watch?
I liked what I saw for the most part and we still lead. Only annoying thing is the stupid thunderstorms and the whole delays in the game...
Leading in passing yards Leading in rushing yards Leading in total yards Leading in time of possession Leading on the scoreboard. Nuff said at this point
To be fair both teams have had to deal with these interruptions play is going to be down for sure. But I get what you mean. I think we have moved the ball well though in both the pass and run.
Anyone blaming Gesicki for Tannehill’s poor pass is nothing but a Tannehill apologist. The reality is that after all these years Tannehill is the same QB he has always been. He can look great for a few series during a game but he just isn’t the QB that is capable of being a quality QB, game in and game out. The Dolphins will never be anything but mediocre at best as long as he is the QB of this team. Hopefully Gase and the front office will be smart enough to use their first round pick in the 2019 draft to select their QB of the future.
So hilarious. EVERY QB makes a bad pass. Tannehill has one today, after not playing for how long, and with all the delays ruining any rhythm...and here comes the crowd calling for his head. Unbelievable, but predictable and expected.
Got drunk and fell asleep during the first lightning strike break with about a minute left til halftime. I wake up 3 hrs later to find out the game still isn't over, lol. Score is still 7-3. Just call it and give us the win.
I get it though, it's a pass/route Tannehill has struggled to throw his whole career from what I can recall. It wasn't a good throw today either IMO. I agree with you though, it's a bit ridiculous the comments from a couple here given that. Whatever, is what it is. I thought he's played well today up to that point. Nobody is blaming Gesicki exactly, but go and watch it man, he's laying on the ****ing ground when Butler picks off the ball. Butler outplays Gesicki the second the ball is snapped because the playcall is blatantly obvious by the formation. They've drafted an athletic TE, they've lined up up on the outside all alone... I wonder what's going to happen on the play, right? Did you know it was going to be that throw before the snap? Of course you did. We all did. Do you not think Butler did? Of course he did. Plain and simply, Butler outplays Gesicki off the line, gets inside, gets better position on him, Gesicki played it soft IMO then goes down. Even if Ryan throws that ball better, the result is likely the same because Butler simply overworked Gesicki, read the play well and positioned himself. You expect/hope that you WR on a play like that is either going to come down with it, or not allow the defender to as well. That's not making excuses for anyone, that's just what you hope for. The playcall was obvious, the throw didn't really give Gesicki a chance, but Gesicki never had a chance anyways because he got out played and out positioned right off the snap. I mean, he was on the damn ground when Butler caught the ball. It's not anybody being an apologist for anyone, personally it's when accusations like that get made that this places turns into a warzone. That play though, was doomed right from the start for many reasons, one of them being the throw, but there's certainly other contributing factors.
I am back from the sports bar. I couldn't take it anymore. I will either catch the rest on the radio, or watch the highlights tomorrow if we win. I haven't missed a game yet, and this is the first time I gave up and headed home. I guess considering the circumstances with the weather I have an excuse, but somehow I still don't feel right about it. I usually stick it out until the end even if we are ****ting the bed.
We are getting ready for another Hurricane. Hopefully this one will bring less rain than Hurricane Lane did. So while the Dolphins and the fans at the stadium are having to put up with the delays today, it could be worse. Because at least South Florida doesn’t appear to be in the path of a Hurricane at this time.
I dont think that's an option. It's not like baseball. I think they'll either resume this game later tonight, or even tomorrow night maybe. It won't start over though, I believe their rules just state that it resumes where it left off, whenever it resumes.
