    Just caution?

If so the coaches would have surely told him, and he could have told reporters. If he didn't, why not?

    Odd one.

Maybe Gase expected to run a lot of underneath stuff, wr screens, etc. so he used the injury as an excuse to not want him in today’s game. Wilson, DA, and Grant all fit that game plan better than Parker. Wilson and DA are also good blockers too. Parker isn’t a bum so to speak. But unless a WR gets hurt, I’m rolling with Stills, DA, Wilson and Grant. That’s a good route running, quick, explosive unit.

Like Gase or not, he makes the personnel decisions based on what he feels is best for the team, not what makes every individual happy.
    Sorta Shula-esque.

He could be on the trade block? Philly in desperate need of WR's, and we've done business with them before.

Not basing that on anything other than a hunch.

I can see Gase not wanting to upset whatever continuity we do have with the offense by playing Parker too early. I know Gase likes his size, so if he has a good week of practice we may see him this week.

...or it could be because Parker is a p--sy.

Probably because he just came off injury and might have not been at enough practices for Gase to feel comfortable, or they have two wins without him and he needs to earn his spot back instead of walking back in the field!

I loved Parker coming out the draft but he’s been a huge bust so far. He’s got the talent but always hurt and mentally not in this teams books enough

One thing I really like about this crew is how badly they want to be out there. Frank Gore was practically harassing Gase to play in the preseason. Now Parker comes out and says he's not happy about being benched.

These guys want to be out there competing. They're not complacent.

  12. Parker will get his chance, my guess is it will be this sunday vs. Raiders. Maybe this injury, the fact that the Dolphins are 2-0 and doing so well overall that he will do some great things on the field that they expect from him or more?
Team play, early season excitement and back from IR might be enough to make Parker go out there and change all our minds about what we think of him. All that may be the motivation he needs.
Time to give him a chance to join his winning culture even if it means (for now) limited role and not change much from the current game plan.

"When Dolphins coach Adam Gase was asked about DeVante Parker not being active for last week’s game against the New York Jets he mentioned something cryptic about, “a lot of moving parts,” playing a factor in the decision.

But we never got the moving parts explanation.

    Here’s the explanation:

Last week as Parker was seemingly improving, there were serious conversations about him being active for the first time in 2018. But it was clear to the Dolphins the player wasn’t quite yet 100 percent from the broken figure he suffered in August...

...If the team had activated Parker in favor of another receiver, and then Parker had re-injured his hand during the game and could no longer play, then the Dolphins would be down two receivers and have to finish the game with only three wide receivers, assuming we’re not counting Tanner McEvoy as a receiver...

    ...
The Dolphins also considered special teams because if Parker was active and the decision was made to sit McEvoy, that would put the special teams one man down of a player who plays multiple roles on the unit.

And Parker, taking McEvoy’s spot on the active roster, does not play special teams."

"The Dolphins this week will again face a similar decision but part of the issues hindering the Dolphins from playing him last week have evaporated...

...But here’s the thing: There is still the question of what to do with special teams.

Do the Dolphins inactivate Jakeem Grant and let Danny Amendola, Kenyan Drake and Senorise Perry handle kickoff returns?

Hard to fathom but I’m just laying out as many possibilities as available.

Does the team simply sit McEvoy? Again, that would force special teams coach Darren Rizzi to find another special teams contributor to replace him.

What if McEvoy and Parker are both active? That would mean the Dolphins are going into the game with six wide receivers. And it would mean someone such as linebacker Stephone Anthony or tight end Durham Smythe or maybe a defensive lineman would have to be inactive.

Obviously, this all assumes Parker has a great week of practice and earns the opportunity to be active on Sunday.

    Me?

If he’s one of the best four receivers he plays. If he’s not, he doesn’t. That’s just me.

Playing time has to be earned in the NFL or the entire locker room notices."

It's frustrating because Parker has the potential to dominate...if he takes that next step. I personally would be extremely mad if they made Grant inactive for him to play though. Mighty Mouse deserves to be in the starting roster mix.

Parker is a Puddin' Pop until proven otherwise. He needs to play more aggressive.

Stills, Amendola, and Wilson are studs in the passing game. Grant brings explosiveness that none of the others has, certainly not Parker. Our STs right now is playing pretty well...I wouldnt sacrifice it to give DVP playing time. IMO, he sits until one of those guys in injured or he becomes such a force in practice he can't be denied PT. Or better yet, try to sell him to another team for something worthwhile, and promote Isaiah Ford from the PS.

I completely agree. Trade him away for a starting guard (or corner..but I really want an extra stud guard) and this team is supercharged.

Parker feels like one of those players that will end up eventually being cut or traded away before landing at another team where he suddenly explodes and leaves everyone asking 'Why didn't Miami get that from him?'. I think he still has the potential to be a top wide receiver but at this point I think too much has happened and not happened for it to be here where we end up seeing him reach the heights that we know he's capable of.

I mean, if you think about how this team has played so far-

    • We're set at QB (although a solid backup would be nice)
    • We're set at RB, WR and TE
    • We're set at DL, DE
    • We could upgrade at LB, but our rookies would likely start anyway for the experience
    • We're set in the secondary
    • We're set on special teams
    • We have one elite corner and two pretty good ones. Kind of a need
    • We do need an offensive guard for depth, preferably a starter
If everyone stays playing at high levels for the most part, we don't really NEED anything to be ready to compete. The coaches believe in our young linebackers so I'm not worried there (yet). So if we could get a solid guard or a guard/tackle for Parker, I'd be all-in.

I'm with you! I would be mad as hell and wonder what kind of message that would send to the locker room? Sit a guy like Grant who is EVERYTHING a coach could want except that physically he is short for a guy who has EVERYTHING a coach could ask for physically except he's a wuss and likes sponge bob more than he likes football? I know Gase is looking a Parker's height and sure we could use a taller wr, but I think Gase would lose the team and half the fans.

My only concern would be is that we wouldn't be able to get a stud OG. Not saying you do, but I don't want to trade him just to trade him. Not yet.

I would draft Ryan Finley out of NCSU.
I think we need to get younger at DE, need interior OL, and continue to draft CBs.

I think we have a lot of young talent at Dtackle, Godchaux and Taylor look like home run picks in the later rounds, I mean those dudes are balling, we have a another highly talented player in Jordan Phillips if we wanna drop a little coin on..

I would keep these three trubloods together..

Look to improve oline, tight end, linebacker.

Just sounds like they are doing fine without him for now added to the fact that 1 more week will only help him get more healthy.

***** about Parker all you want but the guy is a stud when healthy and will show it when he has the chance.

I just don't remember the game in which Parker took over and made defenses cringe. What the most catches he's had in a game? Most TDs? most yards?
