http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000963530/article/patriots-closing-in-on-trade-for-josh-gordon I knew.this was coming.
Yeah I just saw that. I don't believe this guy will make it through a season for them unless the Pats hire a full time babysitter. Who knows, that's probably their intention.
I hope they get him in a trade of picks and or another player and he lights up a joint to celebrate his move and gets perma banned from the NFL and the pats take a double L. Also hope bellicheck turns so red that his fat face and head explodes with anger! I thought a trade for Parker to us would be a good option but he has sucked *** that last few years and having offield issues They can have him!! You just can’t coach stupidness out of a player!
So much for the "significant compensation" they were seeking. The part they forgot to mention in that story is that Gordon wants a big raise and the Pats aren't going to pay it.
I hope he implodes, but it is a nice calculated risk for them. They were in need of a deep threat to open up the short passing game.
Obviously the Pats have a history of moves like this working out somehow, but this seems a bit like desperation to me.
They also have a history of moves like this not working. Including the person they cut to make room for Gordon
Im sure it'll work out well for both. Bill will have a team covering up his legal messes, unless he does something Hernandez style that is
A guy like Gordon doesn't scare me with this Dolphin team. Howard will lock that dude down. Its when they match up their guys against our linebackers that gives me nightmares.
Not a DB in NFL history I would trust to shutdown the combo of Tom Brady and an elite talent like J. Gordon. I'm just hoping they keep him off the field because he never grasps the playbook.
His punk azz will quit at halftime of our game. Just toss him one cross the middle so Kiko can welcome him to the AFC East
I'll open with Sam Madison. Not even top 20. Surtain for certain. I'll take that bet on the X man too. Gordon is talented, but he's soft. Rod Woodson would of had him washing his car after the game. Mel Blunt, Gordon would be going in for a sex change so he could finally be the ***** on the outside he is on the inside.
Albert Haynesworth and Chad Johnson that one offseason terrified everyone but neither of them amounted to anything with the Pats, I was just going to make the same comment. Veteran WR's have often struggled picking up the Pats offense (Reggie Wayne, Chad Johnson and now Decker), let's see how dedicated Gordon really is, should be interesting especially since he didn't have an offseason with them either.
...I must of missed how they put up all those stats on Howard last year. lol. I am not saying Gordon won't have good games with Brady, I am talking about against Howard specifically. Gordon doesn't scare me.
Rather a WR scares "you" is something I will likely never decipher. However that caliber of QB with that caliber Wr? It can be contained, but certainly not stopped.
It most certainly can be stopped for one game. Happens. All. The. Time. Including last year with the patriots and Tom Brady against Howard.
I don't care how big his muscles are, my teenage daughter has more intestinal fortitude than Gordon could spell. His heart is soft. Not in the awe he's a teddy bear way, I'm talking about in the I don't care how tough it is I want this and nothing is going to take it away from me kind of way.
I just think this is a bad message for the Browns players. Essentially if you’re talented butbtrapped by being drafted by the Browns just annoy the boss enough and you too will be shipped from winlessville to the most sucesful franchise over the last 20 years. Trade him to the Bills or let him go through waivers - don’t reward bad behaviour by shipping him to a superbowl contender.
So many players need that wake up call, getting shipped to their 2nd team. If he turns out to be one of those players this could be ugly for us this year. The guy has loads of talent, I hope he is every bit the headcase he has looked over the years.
The Browns in action. They continue their history of bad decisions. I'd have shipped him to the NFC at the very least, even if just for a sixth or seventh round pick. He is one failed drug test away from another long ban though, so he is a one-year rental by the Pats at this point. No way they give him a new contract, unless it is without guaranteed money.
He's a vet and not subject to the waiver system and can negotiate as a free agent with any team upon release. May as well get the most you can from him. Surprised no one else offered more than a 5th, but I also heard it was supposed to be a 6th but the Pats don't have a 6th.
I agree, but I will say that the Browns invested heavily in Gordon and deserve the chance to recup as much of their loss as they can.
